Perhentian Tuna Bay Island Resort is located on the south west coast of Pulau Perhentian Besar (Big Island), a quiet, untouched part of the island surrounded by tropical jungle, on a broad expanse of powdery white sand. The resort commands a breathtaking view of Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Island) and the South China Sea, right on your doorstep. All chalets are just a minute's walk from the beach and are tastefully built with wooden furnish.
We planned to stay here for 2 nights and it became 5! Great location, very friendly staff, great food and everything with a smile. I would definately recommend this wonderful place and would like to visit again

We initially did not choose this resort to stay at for our trip to Perhentian but we did not have a choice as the other place we wanted was fully booked. Finally went with this place as they offered a fullboard dive & stay package. The dive shop was just beside the resort. We booked the standard chalet for 3 adults which came with one single & one queen sized beds. Room was spacious enough for 3 of us. 3 bottles of mineral water were provided daily but was not enough so we bought more from the restaurant. It wasn't very expensive. You can always bring your own but as we flew here, we didn't have extra space for that. There's no coffee / tea / kettle / TVs in the room. Did not bother us as we were not in the room most of the time. Bathroom was clean & basic toiletries like…

If you are ready to quit on internet and the outer world, that's the place to go. Cabins could need a new colour and the sheets have stains but the place is really nice. The restaurant is fairly good, not special, prices are higher than on the mainland. But you have a stunning beach and a snorkling reef just right in front your door. As mentioned, poor wifi, just around the front desk.

We didn't stay at Tuna Bay but ate at the restaurant. It was by far the most reliable in terms of excellent service. It was was well run, the staff were friendly and the menu was extensive. The food was very good and we ended up coming back about 4 times over the course of a few days. We tried several food places and this was the best. Highly recommend this place - worth a water taxi trip even if you are staying on other parts of the island!

This hotel is a great place to stay in this beautiful island. It is not the cheapest hotel in the vicinity, but it is very luxurious, everything works (f. ex. the AC, fridge, warm water in the shower etc.) and the staff is VERY FRIENDLY and attentive. They have a nice, professional team who keep everything up & running and all wishes of their guests fulfilled. The "credit system" for the food & drinks consumed during the stay is very well organized & comfortable (f. ex. your kids can just go to the restaurant to have something to eat or drink). The buffet breakfast is very nice with a large offering and egg-dishes freshly cooked as you wish. The waiters are really friendly and cool. All in all a very nice hotel to stay. What food rates are concerned this restaurant's prices are…

Amazing resort. From arriving in their office at Kuala Besut to leaving, all the staff were smiling ,helpful and friendly. Boat ride over was good. Felt safe, short 1/2 hour ride straight to resort. Check in was quick and efficient. Room read and luggage delivered to door. We had a two garden rooms that connected for 5 of us. Beds comfy, hot showers and air con. Housekeeping each day good and alway a smile from the lovely lady who tended the garden. The food was delicious. Good buffet breakfast and lovely A La Carte menu too. BBQ particularly good as well as nice cocktail bar. The house reef is amazing. Beautiful snorkelling, loads of coral and fish. Snorkelling equipment cheap to rent. Staff are very lovely. Marvellous resort. Best on the island.

Just book it! This place is amazing. My family and I (kids 10 & 13) loved it! We stayed for 10 days and loved every minute. Make sure you book all of your transfers through the resort - they are very organised and you will not have to worry about a thing. We were picked up at the airport, driven to the port and then popped on the boat - easy! We had adjoining beachfront and standard bungalows and they were great. Very clean and suited us perfectly. The food at the restaurant is a very high standard. Curries are amazing. Something for everyone. The real star of the show is the beach though. We were amazed how great the snorkeling was just right off the beach. It was like an aquarium. Magic! We also did several half day snorkeling trips to other spots which went very well.…

The accommodation: More than adequate for us (2 adults and 2 children (10 and 12 years old), we had 2 adjoining rooms (door in the middle), the rooms have a safe and most importantly comfortable beds (we had a queen in 1 room and a queen and single in the other), there’s no tea or coffee making facilities but the restaurant isn't far away, the rooms are a bit dated but they were clean and serviced very well and they felt comfortable, we were very happy with the amount of space we had with the two rooms together The Restaurant: Very good, there are other dining options around but the Tuna Bay Resort restaurant was full every night, they have a wood fired BBQ every night and a dedicated BBQ menu, I’d have to recommend the Tandoori Chicken, Beef or Fish from the BBQ menu or the…
