We recently spent five nights here, in a sea front family chalet. Although the area seems to attract more visitors, little else seems to have changed since I visited around ten years ago. We found this a perfect place to spend some days relaxing, between visiting Taman Negara and Singapore. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price. The Seven Seas office in Kuala Besut, where we collected our boat tickets, can also provide shared transport to Khota Bahru airport.

From the jetty, to the stay, the food, the service, the facilities, the room, the visitors, the views, the serenity, the staffs, the snorkeling trip, and back to the jetty at the end of the trip, everything was amazing! Our only drawback is the mattress that gave us some serious backache every morning we wake up. Hope the chalet could upgrade the mattress to a new one that doesn't hurt the back anymore. We really love this place and looking forward to come again.

I'm glad we stayed here and would definitely revisit. This area in general is great as there are lots of gorgeous beaches, pontoons to swim out to, several restaurants, 2 shops, a dive centre and boat trips. Abduls was such good value for money. I couldn't believe how comfortable the bed was (although I did have to ask for an extra pillow as 1 is not enough). Listening to the waves as you fall asleep is so lovely. The bathroom is huge so it doesn't matter that showering is messy! Water is hot and plentiful. Abduls leave a broom on the balcony for you to sweep up the sand yourself. There are places for you to dry your clothing on the balcony too. We got a bag of washing done as we were heading to another island. Paid RM 17 for all of our dark clothes and towels and it made such a difference. Rooms have a fridge so bring your own water bottle/drinks from the shop. Tuna Bay have a water station to refill your bottles at so no need to buy plastic. All in all we loved Abduls. We found the people working there friendly enough and helpful when we needed it.

We are staying here for 5 days 4 nights, room are clean and comfortable stay for us, food are delicious. Note:things needed to be improved -->greet guest at least how are you....and smiles to show that you are happy to have us at your chalet. ( customer service is number 1) Food order could be very delayed, we almost waited for 45 minutes, but it depends how crowded. That's why I came early to avoid disappointment, and mostly male staff were friendly and smiles than female staff. Fully recommended,

Totally enjoyed our stay Abduls. Staff were really friendly. Rooms were clean and dry (not damp/musky) Sea view chalets were great. Food was tasty. This place doesn't do alcohol at all and just be aware of red ants.

Such a nice and relaxing place! We booked a deluxe sea view chalet and we were literally on the beach! The chalet was very clean, with air con and a ceiling fan, an electric shower and a mini-fridge, and a lovely terrace. The hotel serves simple food for breakfast, lunch and dinner - note that they do not serve alcohol but you can find beer in the small shops on the island. The staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful in booking boats for us to go on small trips. The beach in front of the hotel is perfect for relaxing and maybe the best spot to watch the sunset. There is quite a lot of coral so very nice for snorkellng without going too far. Both of us fell in love with the place and it has a lot to do with Abdul Chalets! We would definitely recommend!

Fish BBQ for the last night on the island. The outside tables on the sand are very simple (plastic) but romantic with candles. On the terrace it looks like a cheap hostel breakfast room. The fish was good but we had to take our rice out from a sort of an insulation box. The rice was cold and we had to take the dry leftover rice because they seemed not to care to make new rice for the guests who arrive in the last 2 hours (we arrived at around 20.30). The "grilled" potatoes weren't really grilled and they were soft, tasteless and soggy. The salad included in the meal had also to be taken from a plastic vessel and it was without any kind of dressing. There was a bunch of cheap condiment bottles beside. The staff was friendly but also politely ignored our complaint. Not to be recommended at all.

Stayed in a family room with our 8 years old, room and bathroom is spacious, clean and reasonably priced accomodation. Air-con works well and the mini fridge is a bonus for keeping your own drinks cold. The chalet is located at the quietess part of the Island and only 5 minutes walk to Teluk Kekek (walk towards the left of the resort) which has a beautiful coral reefs. The snorkelling in front of Abdul's chalet is lovely too , you can spot clown fish and many others coral fish. The food served in Abdul's is delicious and reasonably priced too. However discovered a small family run hut on the way to Teluk Kekek that served cheap Roti for breakfast. I wouldn't waste money on those snorkelling trip offered as the coral reef/fish we saw is not much different from what you get in from of Abdul's chalet. However, the Turtle Beach is worth going as spotted turtles in our snorkelling trip there. Hope to go back again soon. Final tip - book Abdul's early as they are fully booked in peak season very quickly..
