I first discovered Perhentian in 1993 and it has become my regular holiday destination almost yearly. I hv known Abdul since my first trip there and I hv seen Abdul's chalet grown n improved till today. Nestled in the corner on the long stretch of beach in Perhentian Besar (big island) Abdul's Chalet is an ideal place for a quiet n peaceful beach holiday. It has a big stretch of clean beach with crystal clear sea. This place is suitable for couples n also a small family get together. It has an open air and rather spacious and restaurant that serves nice western n local food. Though some visitors have commented that the chalets are old, I particularly like it's traditional setup which is similar to a small kampung (malay village wooden house). A simple beach resort that is…
We had a pleasure to spend 4 days in this beautiful place. We booked sea view room and it was perfect. The houses have air condition, mini fridge and are spacious. One thing that we can complain and we felt little disappointed is that, first day they gave us not this room, which we booked. We made reservation many months ago and we thought, our room will be waiting for us. When we arrived, they told us that for one night they will give us worse room and they gave money back for one night. It was not comfortable, because we had to carry heavy luggages twice upstairs in a very hot weather. We had food package, and it was next disappointment. One set of food was for 2 people. When you order set without package one set is for one person, which is better. Portion of juices without…
We stayed elsewhere but visited Abduls most days as it is located on the nicest accommodated beach on the west of Besar. The food and staff are both top notch and I'd recommend trying the ginger and sweet and sour chicken dishes!!
The quality of the rooms is not really ideal - as the cleaning is not done every day. However, the beach, the location and the place is heaven. Breakfast is poor - but won't expect much considering the price. The restaurant is average.
Everything was really perfect! The view from the chalet, the staff and of course this island! If I come back in perenthian Island, i will come back in this hotel for sur. Thank you for everything!!!!!
This was the first time I've stayed at Abdul's Chalet although I've been to Perhentian Islands 5 times. We took the last room available (Triple Family Room) and although it was located on the upper floor, it was OK. Huge room and bathroom, very good shower pressure and hot water. No complaints at all. The restaurant serves very good food and it's really the cheapest in that stretch. We ate all our meals there. The staff are excellent and friendly. Special shout out to the coral reefs right in front of the chalet. The beach is superb with fine white sand but what's in the water is more amazing. My mom who is a first time visitor can't stop remarking on the crystal clear sea. While snorkeling, I saw a "cleaning station" just a few feet away from the water edge. Really couldn't…
The stay in ACh was indeed amazing. The locationas well as the chalets themselves create a wonderfully tropical ambiance and feel. When it comes to the quality of accommodation and the surroundings I missed absolutely nothing and I think the place really deserves 5 or even 6 stars but still, let me break it down into two parts anyway. Pros So as mentioned above - excellent location + accommodation The chalets are equipped tastefully and are super clean The bed is ultra comfy and I had wonderful sleep in them - I seriously felt rejuvenated after each night - falling asleep and waking up with the sound of waves that's something I can't get never enough of Turquoise waters right in front of the chalets (sea view option) Calmness and serenity No annoying mosquitoes or…
We spent 4 days 3 nights at Abdul's in search of some R&R and found it. Our beach front chalet was large, clean and comfortable. The beach has good shade from trees growing along the shore and the sea is beautiful. Plenty of fish to see just a few metres out. The food they serve is of generous size, but not some of the most refined, all tasty though. We went on a snorkelling trip booked through Abdul's and we went to all the key snorkelling spots but so did everyone else so it was busy. Abdul's has all the comforts (AC, 24 hour power, wifi) you could need but is also a great place to relax. The wifi did not work particularly well on iphone for some reason.
This place is a true jem. Location is brilliant, snorkeling just a few steps from your room if you take a sea view room. The restaurant is great. And the people from the hotel are really nice, friendly, helpful. We ended up eating only at Abdul's and booking all of our tours there. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Hope to visit again soon. If I do have to give some constructive suggestions how as to make the stay even more comfortable they might consider putting a bin in the room. Our sliding door needed fixing as it didn't completely close and the WiFi was down every night at random hours. But these are no deal breakers for us to be honest. We would surely want to stay here again.
Love this place. Modernised since we were there 20 years ago (hot water, aircon, 24 hour electricity, wifi!), but still maintains its low key character and affordability. Stunning beach with a pontoon to jump off and great snorkelling off the beach. Good restaurant with a few other eating options nearby. Note: Abdul’s is dry, so if you need alcohol, bring it with you!
