Surprised to see the poor review. Admittedly, the room infrastructure is rather basic and they can definitely be better maintained. Additionally, WiFi is mostly only accessible from the public area and not so much in our room. However, that aside, I do love the fantastic view from the dining area. It is absolutely the best view of the Long Beach. The ocean view from our room is also pretty decent. I also love the fact that it's located at the far end of the Long Beach, which means we are away from the madness of the boats and people who disembarks on the Long Beach jetty. The fact that it is quite a walk up from the beach also means we are away from the noisiness of the night shows, while still remaining within easy access to the happening if we choose to! All things considered, for the budget price that we paid, it is an excellent value for money!

I have stayed at drock garden few times and this resort will be my number one list if I am going to long beach perhentian. I will always booked the a/c standard chalet without any meals option. Pros : Great seaview from our room. Comfy stay. 24hr electicity supply. Cons: Up in the hill. Basic room amenities ie towel, soap bar, shampoo. Most staff does not seem to understand english. Overall I can say this resort was pretty basic. Suitable for those who are not expecting any luxury and just want to enjoy the sun, sea and the view.

DO NOT STAY OVER NIGHT AT THIS PLACE,I WOULD SAY. On the first visit to D-Rock Resort, we had arrived at 11.00AM and tried to check-in but the receptionist was saying that the room was not ready yet. We were thinking only early arrival so we were waiting the room positively. We had lunch in the hotel but one of the staffs there was not understanding us neither English nor Malay, even we repeated the order she still served a mistaken dish and forgotten our order. Time passed by to 2.00 PM that should be the normal time to check-in. We were trying to check-in but the receptionist kept saying that the room is not ready yet but the person who came to check-in after us had got the room already so that made us curious about the “room ready” meaning. So, we decided to waiting at the reception to show our frustrated mode until 3.00 PM and finally got the room. Firstly we were excited about how the room look like but fist step to come into the room we had to rethink about the dreamt room. The room was so hot and full of sand and dust (we booked fan room anyway), only a weak & old wall fan; the shower room is average without hot shower (not beeing informed while we doing the booking online). Furthermore, the toilet bowl was not clean at the beginning so we were the one who clean it. In the room there were a lot of ants and mosquitoes around that made us scary and thought the way to eliminate them out. Talking about the balcony, please forget about the ocean view even though our room facing to the beach because there were a lot of banana trees covering our scenery and we believed that other units would face the same situation that seeing the roof of another front unit unless you are luckily given the first row of the resort and you would see the beach line only. We suspected the window that full of dust and print and after seen closely we were shocked that had many hand prints on the window. No one would clean the room at the beginning and when we slept on the night, the handprints were outstandingly seen that was creepy on us. During the night time, we could not sleep well at all due to mosquitoes disturbance. In the end, I would not recommend to stay over night in this place no matter what. We have been disappointed about the expectation with unreasonable price (224 RM/night). On the second night, we immediately checked out before departure date due to not comfortable and bad experience and service in this place. We moved to other resort on the last night stay and feeling much more better and highly over our expectation; view, environment and facilities rather than the creepy D-Rock resort. LAST BUT NOT LEASE! THE DISTANCE BETWEEN JETTY AND THE RESORT ARE AROUND 10-15 MINS WALKING DISTANCE. THE UNIT OF D-ROCK NEEDS TO CLIMB UP TO THE HILL SO FAR.

The lamp was broken and it was too dark to get into my chalet, rude staffs and never nice to anyone. Wifi doesnt work at all, doesnt recommend anyone to stay here, not worth the money. Also many mosquitos and the room is like a very very fragile chalet and will collapse anytime, super hot too

When we arrived (which was earlier than check-in so we expected to wait a while anyway) the man on the counter was rude, non responsive and dismissive of myself and others after me when enquiring about anything. I asked where I could leave my luggage and he pointed next to the fridge in the communal area. He was also being difficult with others whilst we were waiting for our room - one couple storming out to find a room elsewhere. When we eventually got our keys, we ventured up to the room at normal check in time. The rooms are very basic and dated, however did have a working fan and a lovely view of the sea. The door on the balcony didn’t lock and didn’t feel safe and there were mosquitos and other flies EVERYWHERE! I was bitten at least 7-8 times in the first hour or arriving. When I went down to the desk to ask about a mosquito net or any bug spray, a different man was there this time who just laughed in my face and said ‘no’. I said I’d been bitten many times and showed him some bites on my leg and he laughed again and said ‘OK’. Very dismissive and irresponsible to offer fan only rooms with no mosquito nets. We came back later that evening to find dead flies all over the bed, under the pillows and on the floor. The sheets underneath were also stained. I didn’t bother going down to reception as the man at that time had limited English and I felt I wouldn’t get an adequate response anyway. Overall, I would not recommend D Rock. After staying in budget fan-only rooms before (including Maya chalets on the same beach) there has always been a mosquito net. Their rooms are way overpriced for what they offer and we have found much nicer, cleaner accommodation (with air con and mosquito nets if needed) at Shari-La for a similar price.
