The resort is located at Coral Beach and I love the beach because it is not crowded as Long Beach, you would find many unbreachable corals in the sea, and there is a sea platform that allows you to see the whole seaside in the middle of the sea. And you can have a sunset view while having your dinner in the restaurant of the resort. The only thing I was not satisfied with the bathroom is not that clean, and the bedroom wasn't reached my expectation, but overall I had a good experience and it is suitable for backpackers but not suitable for those looking for luxury accommodation experience.
I did a booking through Agoda to have a 4D3N stays. In Agoda page clearly stated that they will only verify my credit card and the full payment will be make in the resorts upon arrive. However, I got notified by Agoda a week before of my travel date that my booking has been cancel and there's no confirmation come from the hotel. I call the hotel ask why, their reason is they can't charge my card. However, the statement has clearly state that full payment only make upon arrival. What's wrong with this people? Asking me re-do the booking and great, I can't find rooms for the date I want to travel now. This mean you are not welcome me. If the resorts GM or management is reading this comment. I got to Senja Bay Resort and booked a room. They asked me how many nights I will stay there which I did not knew on that time so they said I can come back tomorrow morning to let them know. At around 4pm I went to the receptionist to tell that I am going to stay there nights but on that chance she told me someone else booked to room so I need to get out. She offered me another room that was more than double the price. That is completely unacceptable and rude. The rooms are basic but ok. Not the cleanest ones and a lot (!) of mosquitos and other smaller animals which can easily walk in to the holes in the bathroom. Due to the behavior and the cleanliness of the room for that price definitely Not recommended at all.
How can I rate this experience...maybe the one that got the worse price/quality relationship, or should I say lack of quality!? The place is completely outdated and not maintained at all. My room (kind of a bungallow) had air conditioning that on the second day it started to smell like smoke and stopped working!! The room had two holes on the corners of the wall, the floor had some loosen boards, and a fetid smell could be felt sometimes. There was a lot of rubbish beneath the bungallows, there was no meal included, not even breakfast, in my 2 night 657 ringgit stay (140 euros, 70 euros per night). The people there were obnoxious; there was a girl at the reception that even gave me an arrogant answer when I asked her that I wanted to keep my lunch's receipt. Definitely an experience I will not repeat. The island is for sure worth visiting, it is very beautiful, not to mention the warm crystal clear waters, but just avoid this place.…
We slept in two different rooms, both second row, with sea view. The first one should have been called dump view bedroom, as it overlooked the mess and dirt which lay all around the other huts. The room itself was small and fairly clean, and so was the bathroom. The second room was much better. The price was high compared to other places and to what you get. They offer you free reclining chairs on the privat beach, but they are in wood and do not have anything soft on top, and a towel is not enough. A hard experience for anyone's back. The personnel, though, was extremely polite and helpful.
We stayed in a cabin with fan, just in front of the see which is fine, but we found it too expensive. It's absolutely overpriced... Similar options in better price right in Coral Bay! The bathroom not so clean...
500 ringgit a night for 4 is not even the price you could expect to pay for a 5-star hotel in KL while here for that price you get a simple bed and a bathroom with a door that doesn't close till we asked for it. No breakfast included, service at any restaurant on the island is extremely slow and minimum, you can always expect them to miss at least one of the dishes you've ordered. TIP: order an extra one just to be sure you don't wait half an hour more! :) The facilities are super average and they could invest a big portion of your payment in improving the whole thing but they don't: I came here 4 years ago, and nothing has changed! Only one thing did change: the fact that good alcoholic beverages (outside Tiger beer...!) are super hard to find in the whole island... With all that said, I will not come back to the Perhentians nor will I recommend this resort to my friends.…
The restaurant is perched high next to the shoreline. We came in late, with high winds swaying in hard. Menu has reasonable range of choices. Plain simple good hot food but oh, the team deserve credit for making us feel very welcome
Quiet beach area (Long Beach is more happening and big crowds). Room condition was decent and have working AC. It is located just beside the sea (end part of Coral Beach) and behind are all bushes, tend to have small bugs in room everywhere. Not major disturbing and harmful, but insects repellent will be useful. Bathroom shower pressure is ok and toilet bowl is clean as well. Although there was electricity and water disruptions, but they fix it before we come back from island hopping, so they are responsive. Restaurant food are standards spread of Malaysian have rice, chicken, fish, veg, fruits and juices. Please don’t expect too much from it as you are in an island and recourses are delivered from mainland. They served Nasi Lemak Special on Sunday, and they Kuew Teow Goreng is spicy and nice. BBQ dinner and other meal were average, but I think they have served us all the best they have! The best part is they have water supply free for their guest (you no need to buy bottled water). Staff are friendly and helpful. WiFi router is located at the reception, hence the network will be stronger around that area. No sure about other rooms, but the one I stayed do not have any WiFi. The seabed in front of the hotel is awesome for not good swimmer to snorkel around. Shallow and more variety of fishes. They are more scattered not in schools but we saw a baby shark too. …
This is business visit with work purpose . The only hotel that give you 24 hours electricity on their premise . Newly upgraded toilet 🚽 . Recent upgrade the hotel are equip with 4G Internet backbone and mobile phone 3G & 4G booster . Food is great you can try order the mee goreng mamak . Got movie display during with LCD projector and sound system . Could improve more on interior .Friendly receptionist and a very good owner who always try to keep it running efficiently. View is great 👍 you can see a sun from the beach . Clean fresh water 🚿 not like long beach the food all taste weird because they have no source of fresh water. They recommended SeaVoice for Diving and did help us with arrangement . 👏👍
