Located in an isolated part of the island it is best suited for those seeking a quiet time. One 3km paved road leads to Teluk Dalam beach. They do offer a boat service to Long beach. General boat services are very expensive.
I found all the staff friendly and helpful.
I made a prepaid booking two months in advance and was allocated one of their best sea view rooms as a result. The resort overall is still in pretty good shape given its age.
My room was modern looking and decent size. Fitted out with a wardrobe, desks and chairs. The aircon, fridge and TV (with english movie channels) all worked just fine. The lighting was adequate but poor over the work desk.
The bed had clean linens and afforded me a comfortable sleep.
The bathroom had a segregated shower with hot water and decent watet pressure. As you would expect, toiletries were provided.
The balcony had a table and two chairs. Nice to sit and relax particularly when there was a slight sea breeze.
The food at the restaurant was okay albeit pricey. I found it amusing that at the free buffet breakfast the Malaysian guests would pile in but come dinner time no where to be seen.
Overall, even though this resort was not my first choice, I think it was a blessing in disguise as Long beach was packed with tourists.

The food selection is very limited and tasted horrible. There is no hot water in the shower and it is just overall uncomfortable staying here. There is only one transport to long beach at 6 pm and can only go back at 10 pm. I feel like I am living in survival mode. What was supposed to be a relaxing trip was very dissapointing.

Redang Island resort was one of the first resorts in Redang and has a great view on the hill overlooking the main harbour / port. Whilst not directly on the beach it does offer morning snorkel trips (10am to 1) and an evening transfer to long beach for dinner options (6-10pm), both of which should be taken up since the highlight of Redang is its snorkelling and beach vibe.

Dinner at RIR was not great with an uncooked fish and chips (also missing the lemon noted in the menu as there was none in stock) whilst the beef burger was not great. Maintainace is clearly an ongoing issue with the room having problems with its shower & hot water whilst the pool was not fit for swimming (irrespective of the snake we saw both mornings by the loungers!).

On the more positive side the transfers were well managed whilst the staff were keen to help albeit constrained by what they could actually do

Rooms on the sea side are significantly better than the forest side given views and light.

Rating is a generous average (3stars) but it deserves better than poor (2stars)

Redang Resor is located very close to one of the Jettys of the island. The place itself is a quiet one and has a private beach which we did not enojoy as there were more beautiful beaches to be seen. The resort is immersed in the green and lizzards are everywhere. Doors and windows do not closenproperly and they enter very easily in the rooms. Rooms are cleaned everyday but very superficially and the dust is everywhere. Bathrooms need to be renovated as well as closets.Mosquitos nets placed on windows would be a read plus.
The staff is very organized and they offer good transport and transfers within the surrounding islands. Their service is very efficient. Breakfast was ok and restaurant as well. Very cheap. The only real problem is that on the island they burn all the garbage somewhere, therefore the sticky smoke of plastic burned fills the air in the morning. This paradise should be protected.

Although this is an ageing hotel (previously Berjaya Redang), for me it's adequate. Location wise, very strategic. Near to the Kampung Jetty, with all amenities nearby. Guests have a choice to dine at the nearby village. Staffs are extremely helpful and courteous. Kudos to Berjaya which employs mostly Redang locals to work in the resort. Really nice to stroll the jetty area and mingle with Redang folks. Chartered a boat for our family to go for snorkeling and it's worth every penny (5 hours). Just a note to Berjaya Group, even though a new baby and profit-making is there (Taaras Beach Resort), in my opinion it is still worth to maintain and upgrade Redang Island Resort.Breakfast could be improved by having egg counter. Overall it was an pleasant stay.

Hotel on the heights of Redang, magnificent view. Afterwards, you have to pay for a taxi to get to the public beach (cost 12 euros round trip), it is better to stay there for the day...The rooms are pleasant, very clean. We had bottled water available every day and room cleaning daily. The bathroom could do with a little updating. The staff is really very friendly and attentive. The swimming pool is large and pleasant. Negative point: the meals. The a la carte menu is expensive and there isn't much on the plate for some dishes. Good breakfast all the same. We stayed 7 days and it was impossible to have certain products on the menu. The bar no longer exists, the place is empty and a bit abandoned. Despite everything, we had a great week and avoided the crowds at Long Beach!

The main attraction of Redang Island Resort is its location with spectacular views over the main harbour, jetty and surrounding islands and with easy access to all attractions either by RIRs own organised activities or by private tour for snorkelling, visits to Long Beach etc.

We have visited Redang Island Resort several times and were very impressed with the significant changes since our visit in 2023. Rooms appear to be slightly upgraded and worked, the pool was clean and in operation and kitchen had improved

Front of desk staff were excellent in helping ensure our stay was a success. Although restaurant staff are willing, service levels although better than previous years are still not up to Berjaya standards but could be readily addressed by focused training and support.

We look forward to further progress on a future trip.

Dont bother staying at Redang Island Resort.
1) Overpriced. RM510 per night for a room that is old. Not worth it.
2) Far from beach/ restaurants. The nearest beach is a 1 hour walk. And they dont provide complimentary transport service to the beach. Poor.
3) Nosiy. Everytime the person staying upstairs walks, you hear it. And the connecting door to the adjacent room cannot be locked. And one night the person next door accidentally opened the door to our room. WTF.
4) Staffs. Giving contrasting info. Not helpful.
In conclusion, dont stay here. Even the dive instructor that we talked to said there are other better options out there.
Hope this is helpful for you guys. Cheers.

The only good thing about the place is the group it belongs to , The Berjaya Group , same company which manages The Taaras. Otherwise its not worth. If you are not carrying any such expectations you will do better :)
Things which are ok, decent room, nice staff , travel agency to assist.
Things which surprised me were
- You are in redang and no access to beach.
- To keep this place going they keep the price low but then make you feel about it everything you expect a service
- There are total 3 waiters in hotel. Breakfast is one of worst i have ever experienced.
- You try A la carte, half of stuff is not available.
The only reason for you to stay is low price and dont expect anything.

Very nice resort with international clientele and few Italians. Spacious rooms. Traditional cuisine. The beach is beautiful.
It's a shame for the Chinese troops who are regularly unloaded with tractors on the beach in the morning and recovered in the afternoon.
Fantastic sea

How much the price?

The price varies according to their season.. During my stay, The accommodation will be approx around RM200++ per night.. You can put a budget of Rm150 per person for the Snorkeling trips.. They will bring you to spots that is very much private and not many people around so you can enjoy more and will be able to see a lot more fishes and corals there.

There is a free charter provided by the resort or else you may rent a bike or motorcycle for you to go around the island. There are lots of local restaurant with a reasonable price and delicious food. You may seek advice from the friendly resort's staff like what i did and surprisingly they'll help you with the solution. Good luck ! 😁😁

Hi. If you need tranquil & peaceful place then i would suggest this resort. Compared to the Taaras resort, bit cheaper and reasonable. But if you looking for a live beach and more people, then i will suggest you to stay at the long beach which have more resort/chalet/hotel.
