Before I share my full experience at Taaras, I must first state that this is a BEAUTIFUL resort with an incredible private beach and stunning view. I stayed at Taaras with my partner at the ocean front room for 4 days, it was a mixed experience for me. Pros - Friendly, helpful and kind staffs whom try their best to ensure out stay was comfortable. Shout out to Michelle for being so accommodating! - The resort and the rooms are nicely furnished and clean. I also love the add-ons ons, everything you possibly need comes with the room. - The staffs will come over for turn down services from 7pm onwards and leave some really yummy cookies. Its a lovely practice and I look forward for the cookies every night. Cons - There is an apparent lack of health and safety measures present in this ‘luxury’ resort. We had an unfortunate ATV accident and all I can say is, thankfully, the injuries were not fatal, because if it was something more serious that what we had, the resort is in major trouble. Taaras, your ATV need upkeep, our brake gave way , and the guy guiding DO NOT have the knowledge or experience to deal with emergency. No basic training provided. Only basic first aid, and one government clinic near jetty which closes at 5.00 PM, and no boat moves to mainland after 4.00 , so what will happen if anything happens Taaras? My goodness! We are just glad we got back to KL safe. - The food in resort is EXPENSIVE! I read some reviews about this but I thought it was an exaggeration , but it wasnt, think mediocre nasi lemak for RM50 above expensive. Also there are no alternatives outside resort, all restaurants outside opens at night and its way too dark and unsafe to leave the resort at night. Here is a reminder to bring snacks, light food, bread, etc before checking in, but there’s no microwave either. Even if you are willing to have all your meals in the resort and don’t mind the price, remember that all 3 dining places have same menu, on day 2 , you would have memorized the menu and probably tried almost everything. The taste of most things are okay, aside from the oxtail soup , spicy beef soup and hamburger , nothing else was outstanding for the price tag. - I also despise the external bidet in the toilet. I personally find it so disgusting. Why can’t we have normal toilet Taaras? Like when you are sitting on the toilet doing business, the smell from the bidet is impossible to deal with it. I perfectly understand that beach side resorts can’t possibly have the best plumbing, but this is traumatic for me and Im not even exaggerating. I’d rather go to the common toilet where there are regular bidet than doing anything in the toilet in my expensive room. - And finally, swimming pool could be better, I wish the beach bar was used to its potential, and also another wish that there is a small grocery to get basic necessities that dont cost a bomb; e.g : Panadol, biscuits, plasters, etc. We’ll probably return solely for the beautiful beach and the serenity, also now that we’ve known the tips and tricks.…
It’s a nice resort. Our room, Premium Cliff View Suite, is awesome and spacious. The view from the balcony and jacuzzi is just amazing! Wish the tub is bigger tho to fit 2 people comfortably. And the highlight is of course the beach. Although the waves were big, we still had a great time frolicking on the sand and in water. Staff were nice and polite. Food wise, was a so so given the price that made you put high expectations and there were minor details that made the experience was a little below the excellence par such as: 1. Exposed wire on the wall in the WC 2. One of the ceiling tiles in the powder room was missing 3. Markings on the walls 4. Jetsams and flotsams beached by the tide were not cleared 5. Plates and glasses left by guests dining by the beach was not cleared But overall it was still a nice and memorable stay.…
We stayed at one of the Cliff View Premier Suite with fantastic view of the beach. Unfortunately, the only room available is at lower floor but still they had a good view with some trees blocking lower view point. Weather was good, look like it's going to rain but most of the time it looks gloomy. So didnt have nicer photo of the ocean. But we love the room, amenities and facilities including the bath tub with the ocean view. The breakfast is nice. The nasi lemak, nasi dagang are all great plus the latte. the beach is not crowded most of the time. very quite and privacy. so we had a good time swimming from one point to another point. the coral is quite far from the beach so it didnt injured our feet while we are in the water. we just love the beach very much. it's like a big, clean, clear, salted pool.…

It is one of the earliest resorts built and located at one of the best spots on Redang Island. We were checked into a garden suite earlier last month (Sep 2020). The size of the room was smaller than what was expected of a luxurious villa as claimed. But if you're not fussy, you can head straight to the smooth fine sand and majestic sceneries at the beach. The view from the gym is to die for! We had a memorable time visiting the turtle feeding spot near the property and a wonderful experience releasing baby turtles in the evening. However, the foods served at the hotel were definitely not up to par with other 5-star (international standard) beach resorts. Most parts of the property were not manned/maintained (maybe due to Covid-19 SOPs). Breakfasts in the morning felt like some sort of a chore to the staff. We didn't feel welcome on arrival, in fact, it was quite chaotic during check-out due to high traffic. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.…
