Redang Holiday Beach Villa is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Spectacularly located at the edge of a beautiful lagoon, Redang Holiday Beach Villa is the most picturesque and charming of the resorts on Redang Island. Built of beautiful local hardwoods, the traditional rustic Malay style architecture of the resort is almost camouflaged into the island's lush green interior. Each of the air-conditioned rooms has its own private balcony and en suite bathroom. Just a stone's throw from the resort beyond the beautiful powdery white sand, you can enjoy snorkelling or scuba diving in the crystal clear warm waters teeming with rainbow coloured fish and spectacular coral. In the evenings you can sit out on the verandah over the water and enjoy a quiet, cool refreshing drink as you watch the evening sunset hues of amber melt into the darkening tropical sea.

Overpriced for a 2 person - package. Boat transfer was 20 - 30 minutes
(depends on speed & weather).

Upon arrival, we got to check-in by fill in details and got to lunch first around 12.15 pm while waiting for our keys to get distributed. The room was poor especially toilets, but the air conditioner was pretty cold and brand new.
No amenities except soaps (liquid form) are provided with old towels.

Snorkeling point only 1 per session. Fewer fishes and mostly found dead corals. Only the turtle point was good enough. You may snorkel front the resort itself near rocks ( be EXTRA CAReful)
to look out more fishes. Instructors are helpful too.

Overall, the food was nice enough on a certain menu. Only syrup, plain water, coffee, and tea was provided.

One of the BEST things from this resort was it's a view for sunrise and hilly panorama from the Seaview chalet.

My friends and I took a tour package for a 3D2N in Redang. The package includes return jetty trip from Merang, Terengganu to the hotel, full 4 meals and 3 snorkeling trips. As for the hotel review, the hotel is located at the other side from the jetty that we came from. Once arrived at the jetty we will need to ride on a carriage powered by a tractor to our hotel which took around 10 minutes. The check in was smooth and I was informed the hotel rooms have been upgraded. All the rooms now are overlooking a swimming pool and if you are expecting to see the beach or even hear the sound of waves from your room than you are in a different hotel. The hotel is situated at the far end of the beach and the only visible beach is from their dining hall. The rooms are behind a hill as compared to every other hotels in that area are all facing the sea.
The hotels is a 3 storey building with 2 queen beds, no TV, no refrigerator, no water bottles (they provide free flow cold cordial and plain water at the dining hall though). They do provide kettles and tooth brush in the toilet. The hot water and air cond work just fine.
The food were mediocre, more like instant to me. Most of the workers are from Sabah or from other nationalities but they are warm and friendly. If you are expecting a BBQ or more than that that you must be in a different hotel again. Nonetheless, next to the dining hall is a paid restaurant offering you western food such as pizza or pasta and the price is reasonable.
Even though this hotel rooms do not face the sea but it offer a fantastic view from the small hill within the hotel. This in itself very much picture worthy. The beach is also very beautiful as no boat enters its shores which makes it very safe to swim and less crowded. The hotel also provide swimming gear which look quite new with minimal rental fee.
All in all it is not a bad hotel considering but please be extra care for your belonging in the room because there are lot of monkeys nearby which might snatch your belonging.

The strategic sea front view is definitely a highlight of staying at this resort, offering a serene and picturesque setting. However, there are several areas that need significant improvement. The room and amenities could be enhanced, as there was an unpleasant odor from the toilet, and overall cleanliness, including clean water, should be prioritized.

The resort café was particularly disappointing and poorly managed. Many of the food and beverages listed on the menu were unavailable, and the beverages that were offered mostly came from a vending machine. Although there is an ABC and milkshake stall, it only opens at 6 PM and seems to operate at inconsistent hours. Selling cold desserts at such an odd timing seems inappropriate. Additionally, the café staff lacked customer orientation, taking orders without making eye contact and appearing more focused on their tablets than on guest service. The mini-mart was also not accommodating and opened late.

The food included in the package throughout our stay was lacking in seafood, which was surprising given that we were on an island renowned for its rich seafood offerings. Including options like cuttlefish or small prawns would have greatly improved the dining experience.

On a positive note, the resort's general workers deserve recognition for their attentiveness and helpfulness. Their efforts were a bright spot during our stay.

i'm stay for 3 days 2 night on September 2020 at Redang Holiday Beach Resort with my family.
Went arrived there around 11.45 am , all staff are very sporting and give the good services.

After registered, we just received the keys of room. Then, we go to lunch first before check in. their menu so delicious (refer picture below)...menu are buffet because they have to follow the SOP of goverment.

About room,, we stay in deluxe room. there have standard room, deluxe and seaview room..but our family just decide to request the deluxe room because the view is front of swimming pool and the space in the room are more than standard room.. but, if you guys want the cheapest price can got the standard room it's too nice also front of pool view. so far it's too nice and their staff just inform the room need to forgaine first before the customer check in. It's too good information to us and other customers.

At resort, we paid for 4x meals for breakfast, lunch, hi-tea and dinner. For dinner, we got 1 normal and 1 bbq night. i think it already worth it with a paid package.

Snorkelling time, around 2.30 pm..we go to the snorkelling counter first and rental an equipment (mask, snorkel, and life jacket). A lot of briefing about snorkelling trip that we have learning before go to the sea.

So at all, are very too good services here. We are enjoying and very satisfied.

thank you, Redang Holiday Beach Resort.
will repeat again

First time at this resort, having stayed at The Laguna in Redang on 2 previous trips. I already told my family to lower their expectations. The room was dark. Occasional drain smell from toilet. Sink was leaking. Found a large spider in shower area on day 2. Water from taps was occasionally yellow. Food was buffet. Not too many choices but adequate. Resort's cafe/bar didn't always have items on menu. There was a fire show outside the resort on one of the days.

We only went on one organised free snorkelling trip as we preferred to do the snorkeling off the beach. We came for the sun, sea and beach and that we definitely got. The pool was a bonus.

Will we stay here again? Yes, if we're being skint but we might try one of the other resorts next time.

I am an Italian guy that is just back from a 5D6N in Redang Holiday Beach Villa and I have to say that most of the review I saw in trip advisor about this resort don't give a complete idea of this place, they are just bunch of complaining without any actual real information.
I want to say that before leave for Redang Island I've been reading all the reviews/comments in trip advisor about this place so I had the chance to actually compare all the comments I saw with the place I visited (I must say I was quite nervous about staying in that place after reading the people's bad judgments).

Main idea:
1) Malaysia isn't a fully developed country and Redang Island is a tiny island in to a protect marine park. Service structure cannot compete with other countries facilities. Despite that Redang also offers other resorts with higher standard than “Holiday Beach Villa” but, obviously, much more expensive.
Here I mostly read about people that want to go on a Paradise Tropical Island, have Grand Hotel Quality services and…well..pay Bed ‘n Breakfast …. Come on… if it doesn’t match all these three requirements it gets judged as a “[--]-hole”.
Comments on other visitor comments:
1) “Floor was full of sand and even the rug on the floor was sandy”.
Both our rooms were enough clean, I saw them cleaning the floor carefully after people checked out but of course there will always be some small cracks with sands…in case you didn’t get it yet, this resort is on the beach, your shoes will get full of sands, your bed sheets will get full of sands and so on… if you want a sand-proof room, well schedule your vacations on a mountain next time!

2) “Food is all Chinese and Malaysian food” & “the guy cooking eggs spat sever times”
You travel half of the world to get to Malaysia, go to KT, take 1 hour boat and you complain it has not western food? Of course 95% of the food is Malaysian/Asian…you are staying in Asia my friends… if you wanna eat your moms spaghetti bring it from home, but don’t expect a small resort on a tiny tropical island to cook cannelloni for you…. Beside, BBQ meat, French fries, and bbq chicken wings are quite western to me…if you want they have plenty of MC in KL while waiting in the airport….
As for spitting, well nobody can say it’s a positive thing, but I would just like to say that I lived in Asia the last years of my life and it is common (unfortunately) to see cookers spitting all time, even in the British shining Hong Kong, the fancy Shanghai and so on…I am not defending the spitters, but that is a common “event” in Asia not a plague of Redang Holiday Beach Villa.

Food was good (standard buffet quality) and plenty, it is not true that you have to be there 1 hour before or they will run out of staffs…I went eating even 1 hour half after the lunch time and still could find plenty of food to eat, I don’t know what people are talking about.
I have to say that after 3 or 4 days you might bored to eat their buffet, but the beach offers many other alternative in a 10 minutes walking range.

Most of the other comments I read come from people that either had a bad experience or aren’t used to travel at all… just to make it a short summary of them:
- “I lost my snorkeling mask they want to charge me”….. is that such a surprise? Take care of the things you rent or bring your own stuffs…
-“I have to clean my own plate, take the stuffs back to the kitchen” …you only have to drop it on the way out, what a big deal as in all fast food in the world….
-“ I paid 160 USD/night… 600RM/night…” gee complain your travel agent guys if you got over charged…
-“Staff cannot speak English”…not true, the higher position people can speak English, they might have a strong accent but it is understandable; beside they all can also speak Mandarin (which is traveling language in Asia).
I wonder if any of these people have ever spent a couple of days in any small Italian Hotel….what about their nonexistent English???

-“Nights are ruined by music until 12”….I had a room close to the bar and I couldn’t hear any noise once the door was closed; furthermore EACH resort on Redang Island has music running to 1 am…
Holiday Beach Villa has Karaoke while others have Disco Music, South American Music and so on..this is common all over the island.

The Resort must improve some aspects (2nd line standard rooms have a really bad view on Electricity generators and some trash deposit while the 1st line has a great view) and strength some services already provided (better purifying water system for showers and more hangers for the dresses) but it is really not a bad choice.
It has the best position among all the resorts, it is the most isolated one while all the others are almost connected each other (by isolated I mean 5/6 minutes walking from the closest one) and if you really want to can use other’s resort services by paying (different restaurants, diving centers, etc.)

First: They did not refill the food.. you have to rush for your food!
Second: Manager attitude towards customers is unfriendly...
Third: Beware for your parking. Even you park under the resort parking, you still have chance to get the "SAMAN".

If you plan to have a nice trip in Redang, please do not go to Holiday Beach Villa...
