Had a great stay here, we visited in September so it wasn’t peak season which I think definitely improved the experience, as we found the beach and pool were empty for quite a lot of the day. The beach was beautiful and the room was well equipped and clean, no issues whatsoever. The buffet had good variety and was tasty, enjoyed every meal we had. We also went snorkelling which was included in our package, which was a bit crowded but still had a good experience (although the coral around where we went was dead unfortunately). Would highly recommend the massage service, the ladies who did our massage were lovely and professional and was a great experience. My only criticism is the evening entertainment could have been better, it mainly catered to Chinese tourists so all the songs/speaking were in Chinese.

Mixed review. If you want a package resort then it may be for you. It's a very beautiful beach, great for snorkelling right outside the hotel and we loved the turtle snorkel trip. We didn't enjoy the food or the busyness of this hotel - it was full of people and catered solely it seemed for the Chinese tourists with mostly Chinese food, loud music until late (it was too loud even in the bar but annoyingly loud in the room too even though we were one of the furthest away) kareoke etc. it made the resort unenjoyable and sadly there's not many other options for food or drink elsewhere. If you want to visit id suggest a night or even do a day trip from Pehrentian islands which has much more to offer. Don't stay here if you're vegan - there's almost nothing to eat, same for vegetarians, and there's not much elsewhere.

I booked one room for two via eDreams from August 11th till the 16th 2020 and paid €1025 (MYR 4650) in advance. I had to cancel the reservation due to COVID and the hotel never returned my money. I wrote them more than once and they never replied. How honest is that?

The resort and the beach are both beautiful. Everything went smooth till for check in. After arrived at resort, 11.30am-they served welcome drink-need to register. Later, we can eat lunch 12pm while waiting for the room groom. After finish room is not ready yet while other guest all got their rooms. We got our room at near 4pm. then need to check out before 10am tmr. Can you imagined waiting at lobby for couple hours. Bcs of that, we missed our first snorkling trip, since trip begin 3.30pm. Snorkeling trip too crowded. Packed with ppls. All guests are snorkeling at same check point at same time. Including other hotel's guests. For meal, they recook unfinished food. Morning-lamb grill, lunch-lamb black paper, dinner-lamb black paper mixed with vege. Same goes to their baked beans.

Terrible! Terrible services, terrible room service, terrible fees for how much you pay! The hotel is old, our room was full of garbage when we checked in and we ask for cleaning services of course we have to ask them three times to “clean” again the room that supposed to be cleaned already, the shower isn’t powerful, the flush didn’t work on the three rooms we booked, the breakfast is quite simple and the food is not even good. The worst part is that they don’t even care because they are always full. Honestly it’s worth it to pay a cent to this Hotel.

My first time in redang. Resort is aging but still good. Bed, sheets, pillows are all good. I slept well. We took sea view room so our balcony view is beautiful. Only problem we had was the shower head wasnt functioning well. Check in and check out were quick. Room was clean. Staff were very nice, helpful and friendly

Think big tour groups, company trips, loud music and bye bye to any peace you were hoping for. Half hearted service, pay for every add-on (snorkels, games, water - charge for refilling and brand new bottles which is surprising). There's always long lines at buffet stations (just explore other food options near the resort vs all in package, we liked Summer Point and Kopitiam food, and the food court at Laguna). Rooms are quite old but comfortable and clean. We didn't join the all in snorkelling trips and thank goodness, it was so packed. Private tours are worth it if you've a group 4 or more. Snorkelling is average, hardly any live corals in front of the resort, you can find better snorkelling in front of Rizal Cafe (Shark Point). Will think twice about returning!

Speechless of reasons giving by the management. Please reflect and think twice before reply to your customer. There are many beautiful islands in Malaysia. Please do value the customers who make reservation at Laguna. This is the last reservation.

Laguna Resort is large and very busy, and so guests don't get the personal attention of smaller, more intimate resorts. However our room was very nice and the bed extremely comfortable. Our room had always been cleaned by lunch time each day, which we really appreciated. The pool area, which our room overlooked, is large, beautifully laid out and very clean, with helpful pool staff on hand. The check in at Reception is excellent and once again the staff very helpful. Water on the island is obviously an issue and there are signs to save water. As a result the shower wasn't particularly good. We had a fabulous time on the island as the beach and crystal clear, warm water in the bay in front of the resort are very inviting and our snorkel trip was fantastic. We eat Whole Food Plant Based (healthy vegan) and there were virtually no options available for us, and I think the hotel could definitely improve their meal options. Fortunately there were several small restaurants further down the beach where we could find our vegan alternatives. The resort's bar service by the beach was very good, where we enjoyed a sundowner each evening. The only complaint we had was that we had to buy all our water. The hotel only provided one small bottle per guest each day. With the temperatures in the mid 30's Celsius, we were drinking a lot, lot more. Due to the ground water being unsafe to drink, even when boiled, we were having to buy many large plastic bottles of water every day to make tea or coffee in the room, as well as drink cold and take on our hike which we undertook one day. There was a sign in the dining room, near the water dispenser advising, On No Account Allowed to fill Water Bottles. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laguna, the staff were very friendly, and we would return.

It is a beautiful beach, but the hotel could do with quite a bit of upgrading. We had the premium sea view room, fairly spartan, and felt slightly old and a bit musty. Lots of dark wood. The all-inclusive meals are adequate but not great. The main drawbacks - there was thumping beach music at about 4 pm followed by a session from about 8 pm onwards with a two person band that was loud. We did move to another room but it was hard to escape the loud wailing band. To make it worse, there was no hot water. Not a great vacation.
