The rooms are pretty basic (don't expect too much) buttttttt the food choices are amazing considering it's on an island. Very affordable for family feast and also delicious.

The view is marvelous (literally waking up to the beach side).. beautiful blue colored water, and white sandy beach

Positives: great weather, very warm seas, snorkelling available nearby, picturesque location, good standard of food served in resort restaurant, friendly staff

Negatives: bathroom in our chalet (10) was disgusting and filthy, accommodation is extremely basic and in need of complete renovation, noisy tractor/construction going on all day long next to resort disturbing the peace, other guests staying at the same time as us experienced identical issues in other chalets, blood-stained sheets (from previous occupants) not changed during our stay, chalet window overlooked an area which was filthy and covered in litter, ant infestation every night in the bathroom, drain is open hole in floor, the advertised wifi doesn't work, it is not a non-smoking resort as you can smoke in the restaurant, there is a lack of hairdryers to go around all chalets

Booking.com continue to promote this accommodation despite the obvious shortcomings. One of the resort owners (Shereen Wong), after receiving my letter of complaint and photos highlighting the problems, had the audacity to accuse us of being hyper-critical and refused to acknowledge why we would be upset at paying over £60 per night on B&B. Only after escalating this matter on social media, booking.com finally reacted and I was refunded 50% of the accommodation cost. Our food and drink were also complimentary (but only worth £15) and offered as minimal compensation by the resort.

If there was a significant investment to entirely renovate this resort then perhaps the prices could be justified, as it is in a lovely position and the staff, while a little inefficient, were all very pleasant and it COULD be a superb place, subject to the right management.

I've no doubt the resort will reply saying we were being unreasonable and didn't say anything to the staff (which is untrue), that we refused to pay for the food (also untrue). If they do this I will quite happily publish my letter of complaint and their response. View the images I have uploaded and you'll see I wasn't exaggerating. Unfortunately I got no recording of the construction work which was ongoing but a French couple did and they will also be complaining.

My suggestion, if you're looking to book hotel accommodation in Redang, do not stay at the Redang Paradise Resort, there are many others nearby that would be significantly better.

Redang is lovely just a pity the accommodation is so awful. We stayed in a beach shack at Redang Paradise Resort. The rooms are very very basic and the bathroom is well.......lets just say horrendous to be nice. The shower is over the toilet and the mould is in every corner due to the wet floors and walls being damp all the time. The restaurant serves breakfasts this wass ok, you can only choose 5 things of the menu, but at least it you got a choice.
The snorkelling and diving was very good and we saw quite a lot of small sharks, which was nice an many other fish species.
One bad thing that happened on our last day, we were playing volleyball on the beach when my husband stepped on something sharp. Upon inspection he discovered it was a used hyperdermic needle. It seems there are drug users on this island who frequent the beach as at night and leave their needles about, this is a big no no and the establishment should clamp down on this before it gets out of hand and ruins the island

Well they fulfill your basic necessities. BASIC. if you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. It can fit 4 people nicely and the aircon works, the toilet works. Toilet is literally not a luxury but it works.

You might have some cute animal intruders, squirrels. So don’t have any open snacks lying around when bedtime. Make sure put all your trash outside. They don’t serve drinks at the restaurant but they have good food.

It’s not a place of luxury but it comfortable.

The rooms are old and dirty, when I checked in I found some "left over" from other guests in the toilet; they initially didn't provide any towel (I had to ask for it) and didn't make the room up the second day. The bed sheets were full of blood and dark stains and smelly. Even worst, there is a nearby bar which plays loud music till 12:30am every day so forget to sleep till that time. Overall one the worst resort/hotel I have ever been, perhaps the worst

It’s disgusting here ! I would say nothing if the price was good but for that price you would accept more. The stuff is very unfriendly breakfast is inedible. And cleanliness isn’t available. The only good thing here is the beach ! Avoid this place !!

I’m a super regular snokeller and diver in Redang.. due to my late confirmation to other resort, I booked this resort and bring my lovely sister and her family to have her 1st visit to Redang Island ... Honestly this place spoiled my holidays. I booked thru a irresponsibility agency “myEho” and never inform what time my boat is, and I missed the boat they ask me either take 3pm or go Merang Jetty and go in the island by speedboat. I decided to go Merang , the boat was late..
when we arrived , we need to wait for the shuttle to pick us (about 30mins), then once we reached resort, room is still under cleaning, we can’t check in yet. But this is only a beginning the night mare start now.
The resort supervisor told us,” we will provide u snorkeling equipment on the boat, just pick there” , then we wait at the beach for 30mins, no one is coming to us and told us to get on which boat, then we get on a CHINA tourist boat with a irresponsibility tour guide that stepping on the coral!!!! Before we depart, the boat man is asking anyone no life jacket or google, mask?!!! No one is responding.. ok then we go to the snorkeling site, after gear up we start jump into water. Just 1 min later, the tour guide as my sis to take off the snorkeling gear and claim that that’s belongs to his group not us. I pass my mask and google (I bring my own not provided by the stupid resort) to my sis and I sit on the boat. I’m really mad and I ask the boat man, why the supervisor said take the google and mask from you. He answer me with bad tone,” I’m only take 25sets, other not control by me”.. what the....!!!! Gosshhh... fine, as long as my sis and her family can snorkeling then I sit on the boat and take care the youngest son.
Then, the boat straight turn to 2nd spot, means what..? One of us gonna lost the the snorkeling AGAIN.
Once I back to resort I ask the resort staff, “ why we never get our gear and pay no respect to us..? We are not paying the same money to your resort?”
The staff said we suppose to follow 1st boat(but we like orphanages no one inform us at all) then the 2nd boat is only to bring us to the boat so they don’t provide us any equipment!!! But the first boat deny to take us, becos their boat is full ( the 2nd boat we go snorkeling boat was 30+ person but the first boat only 18) then we are abandoned then they HAVE to bring us together.
Ok my luck is really bad now. I ask so tomorrow how??!!! Tell me.. so I won’t get abandoned again..
2nd day after breakfast we are getting all my gear and going to marine park and Lang Tengah spots. The trip I got no complaints even there’s some small problem during we stop at the kampung baru Redang for lunch.
Then!!!! For the best memory , I want my sister and her family to see the sea turtle, to I pay for the boat to visit turtle, I ask the person in charge,” will u provide squid to feed the turtle?” He said , no worries, I will bring for you.” End up what’s happening??!!!
No squid left, boat deliver food was not coming in. The pity beach boy gets scold again by me and he said he brought some chicken can feed the turtle also.
I try to calm myself, and if there’s no turtle show up I gonna shoot this person fly up ceiling again!!! Lucky everyone saw the turtles.
Then,7pm + we return to resort. After bath we step in the canteen and order the “ala-carte” food.. u can’t imagine we FINALLY enjoy our dinner at 9.30pm+ , we were not only hungry is starving and feeling dizzy. Don’t think the bad thing is end!!
Last day morning, (this morning) I woke up at 7.30am and I ask ur ppl said my boat to Merang is 11am so what time I need to get ready, she said “pls get ready here BY 10am”
So I give up my check out snorkeling around the shore and pack everything then wait at the canteen at 9.30am.
Around 10.30+- I saw the staff busy calling phone, I know there’s something really bad gonna happen again. They not arrange shuttle for us. OMG!!! My fire is level 9 now!!!
Finally the shuttle came, he said”I’m not taking them to jetty cos I hv clients to FERRY!!! I pick them after I settle my clients”
10.45am ald !!! I’m not in the jetty but still waiting at the canteen!!! Around 11.10am the shuttle came back and send us to the jetty. Now!! Who I’m gonna ask for my boat ? Which boat I need to take?
I called the person in charge. Which boat I need to go? He said ,” orange top green uniform” I walk faster and go to the jetty, the boatman said ,” I’m going Lang Tengah not Merang “
Now lvl 99 Fire is up!!! I called the staff,” how many rounds u want to fool me around?” Tell me which boat!! He made a call and there’s another boat come to us. Finally, I get on the boat safe with my wife and sis family safe at 12.10pm.
I’m having a good memory with my family, but I’m having super nightmares with this resort!!
No organizations!!!
No management!!!
No system!!!
If u ask me, “don’t stay here!!!”
* they don’t even ask their guest to defog before start snorkeling, all mask is fogging when they “ENJOY” their snorkeling.. really really bad experience!!!!
No next time to REDANG PARADISE RESORT!!!!!

We stayed here for 3 nights. When we arrived we had prepared ourselves for it being basic, but we were met with no water. This continued for the entirety of our stay. The staff were completely unapologetic and actually verging on rude. We had to wash in the sea and were not offered any alternative. We couldn't use the toilet in the room either so had to go to other hotels every time we needed to go, even during the night. It wouldn't be so bad if the staff had acknowledged out complaint but they basically fobbed us off saying we had to complain to booking.com. Also be warned that there is a compulsory charge for breakfast of 20 rupees per person. This breakfast is poor and they do not offer the money back if you choose not to have it. All in all I would recommend avoiding this property and staying at one of the other budget places on the island. Not impressed at all.

We arrived to the beautiful island which did not fail to disappoint but the accommodation did. We were on a budget and so prepared ourselves to stay in basic rooms. We even had a good giggle when two of us were sleeping up a vertical ladder practically in the roof. There were two mattresses on the floor but it was difficult to access and bags could not be carried up.
However, there was no running water for the whole three days that we were there. The weather was hot, we'd been travelling and so washing in the sea was our only option. The second night the electricity went off which meant sleeping with no AC and therefore we were even hotter and smellier! There were no apologies from staff or alternative ways to wash. Surrounding hotels all had water and electricity. Surely they could have formed some sort of alliance?

Breakfast was charged to us even though we didn't eat it. It was a cold cooked breakfast and not appetising at all. Very disappointed. When we complained the manager told us to complain to booking.com.
