It was such a memorable memories with my friends. Stayed here 3d 2n. Receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. Bar was quite bland maybe because of Covid19. I was impressed with their room preparation as they actually followed the SOP during pandemic, sanitised the whole room before we were given the key. Only the toilet was quite small but overall was okay. Will definitely bring my family next year !
Never again.... unless ... Arrived Oct 1 Room A13. Facing a little brook with like belukar. Clean no smell a bit of mosquitoes in the evenings. Little glimpss of the sea front at the extreme side. Not exactly a good location for a beach resort. Usually the cheapest room. They have a quaint dedicated ferry terminal along the banks of an estuary in Kampung Merang Trengganu Malaysia along with the other resorts which too had their own. The Redang Resorts dedicated jetties are snuggled behind a curtain of Bakau (Mangroves). Cute. Sea transfer was by a well kept clean 12 passenger speed boat. Friendly and helpful staff. 35 minutes or so comfortable ride across the South China Sea continental shelf. Gentle blue waves on that day. We Arrived! (“yay”)and the dream holiday continues, clear gentle waves splashing on shore, beautiful stretch of beach with fine golden sands. Not many fishes in the waters though unlike Tioman. Pelangi has its own floating pontoon ‘landing jetty’. Wonderful wonderful. Ok resort looks good enough like any other medium cost resort wooden structure and all. Environment generally clean. Spotted some cute little squirrels. Wonder where they came from. First item of the day we had Group briefing on timing of meals and some basic things do’s and dont’s. Yes briefing. Back to school camp. Not exactly a paradise island welcome by a lovely hostess. Comes with this territory. Not sure whether we were unlucky and only one who had a bad room or the whole resort is a has been. Didn’t nother to snoop. Dirty smelly room with filthy bathroom that smells like a sewer. Asked for another room (“Don’t have?!”). Asked for upgrade (“no cannot!”) can pay a bit more? Hmmm. “All full” or so they say. Managed to get the crew to help clean up and room was thereafter barely more livable. Less smelly but some still unsighily. OMG 3 nights. Ok then have to make the best out of whatever situation Life lands us! (P.S. Try not too buy package. But its an adventure, you’ll never know what you’ll get ha ha ha.) Ok on with the show .... ermm ... holiday. Make sure you go for meals at appointed time otherwise nothing to eat or drink except water and alcohol. But there are nearby places to eat in other resorts. Pay more lah ok. Facilities? Oops! Very very very basic!. Not congruent with the price paid. Of course no tea or coffee making facilites in room or out except “The Canteen” at appointed meal times. Basic you know Basic! Hee hee ok got it. The bar opens after 12noon only alcohols some bites nothing memorable. No coffee tea at the Bar at all sorry ya. Food served is hard to comment because tastes experience and expectations varies. From a Malaysian foodie point of view in Pelangi some food served are good but mostly a bit ‘Bleh’ Service level a 2. Thiings do get done Sevice quality 3. (1 really bad ... 5 really good) Service with a smile? No don’t expect any. Some are shy, some are aloof, some peer at you through round goggles as if you are an intruder. Some just don’t know how ro react to guests. If English speaking be patient and repeat gently. Its alright. Ok those fellow travellers who are are already there in Pelangi or already booked prepaid, Make full use of your time, enjoy the natural ambience and beauty and friendly people around you. I certainly did with my family and friends. Had a good holiday regardless. Signing off on Oct 4, 2020. Next time we go stay next door ya. Costs almost the same. Better ambience, better facility, better service.…
Accommodation: Clean room Comfy bed Aircon & water heater in good working condition Bathroom is reasonably clean but wit some old stains. Food: Buffet style but they will serve you. Due to SOP requirement. May request for 2nd (or 3rd) serving without question asked. Good and tasty food. Service: Fast n smooth check in & out from room. Same goes to speed boat transfer.
It’s a very simple resort with basic amenities BUT it’s clean and the service is amazing!! The water crew (Mat, Wan, Aiman), the server (Wan) and all the other staff are super friendly and funny. I love the location of the resort too.
Never stayed here before but came here for supper where we are looking for snacks and the locals told us this is a place to go. We had chicken pop corn and some pizzas. The smoked duck pizza is a must try. Its crust is thin and crispy while the duck is just flavour-packed. It's a nice place to have a supper and you can walk along the beach here at the resort while sweeping your legs on the sand when the sea gets off the shore. If you are lucky you can see BLUE TEARS here!
A bit confusing on where to buy the marine park conservation fee ticket as it stated in email that we should buy it from Merang Jetty. But in fact you can just pay to the guy at Pelangi jetty. Deluxe rooms is clean but there is awful smell outside our room. Hence, have to keep our room door close all the time. Meals are okay except breakfast. There were very limited breakfast varieties/choices. Prefer their local dishes than western. Snorkeling session were nice.
Five of us friends stayed for 3D, 2N packaage during the long weekend of 14-16 Sept, 2019. Had the deluxe B3 room. However, for the high cost the room was quite small even for 3 persons, forget 5. Meal/breakfast were included as part of the package. The meals during day 1 were okay but all the meals and the breakfast on the last day were pathetic to say the least. In the bar adjoining the resort but the behavior of the staff is atrocious- they served as per their wish and fancy- we ordered something and got something else, and then were forced to pay extra for something which we had ordered originally. During the departure we were forced to leave very early as there was only boat to carry us to the Terrenganu city - in the receipt given by the resort it was clearly stated that we have to take a bus after 1 pm. We had to wait for a long time unnecessarily because of such callous wrong information give. During the snorkelling trips there was no instruction given even at a bare minimum level for example from where to alight from the boat- I injured myself because I tried to get down from the wrong end of the boat. The resort staff in the snorkelling trip were only interested in making extra bucks by helping guests who were paying extra for taking their underwater photos and personal guidance while snorkelling. The music played at the bar is extremely loud and you cannot sit for more than 10 minutes in that insane high music volume played on very low quality musical instrument. …
I stayed there for 4 days 3 night and we stayed in a quad room, it was a little small but was okay. There were no toiletries, hairdryer and etc but they do provide towels and toilet papers, which is good enough for me. Food was good and delicious. The dive centre staff were friendly, and it was nice diving with them as well and to even share different experience.
I took 3D2N Diving Package. For RM657 of fullboard package which include 4 meals daily, unlimited hot beverage, 4 dives without equipment rental, 3D2N accommodation and transfer ferry to and from Redang. The location itself is strategic. There is house reef nearby if you feel like snorkeling. You can spot barracuda and juvenile black tip sharks at the house reef. The room are clean. Toilet cleanliness are fair. Can be improved further. I love that they provided ample space for you to dry your cloth outdoor and ample space to put away your items. Most of the food prepared are tasty and variety of choices. The dishes are asian dishes. The dining mass is kept clean. If you are wet, there is 3 tables to outside of the mass. It is placed nicely under the coconut tree shades overlooking the beach. Dive center staff are friendly and informative. Their briefing and diving trips are well organized. And your equipment are placed securely inside the DC every night. We spotted whale sharks on our first day. The visibility was not that good when I went due to current and thermocline. Not something that is within the DC control. And this is not service based DC. Be prepared to change and carry your own tank. End of dive to put away your own equipment. Overall, well recommended.…
3d2n solo leisure dive trip. The resort is nice and clean. I love they got so many trees around the resort that give very calm and tranquill vibe along with the sound of wave and ocean breeze. Hv a nice bar to hang out, and the staffs are friendly and nice. And the food! So good. They served breakfast lunch tea and dinner w variety of choices, and delicious.
