We stayed here as part of a small group tour hosted by Mad about Morocco. One night at the oasis hotel and another night in the well appointed camel tents. The grounds at the oasis hotel reminds one of rooms situated in a botanical garden. The pool area is large by any standards ... unusual for an oasis. Dinner offered...

If you agree a desert is supposed to be quiet, this is the place for you. The hotel has to be among to top alternatives in the area for luxury and services, but with the advantage of being removed from main hotel area, some 20km away from Marzouga´s centre ville. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, not necessarely new, but...

This is a very nice place with a beautiful pool you can lounge by and great food. We also did a night in their desert tents including a camel ride for sunset which I think were the best tents available due to their secluded/separate location allowing for stargazing without light pollution and no other camps in sight. The other camps...

Anyone who travels knows that if you are thinking of going to somewhere remote like Sahara you dont expect 5* accomodation. In its way Derkaoua does give you 5* but in experience, you will have travelled a long way to get here and it is a very welcoming sight to see this little oasis. The rooms are weel laid out...

Overall, our experience was great. I've heard from several sources that this is the best place in the area and I believe that to be the case. It certainly is a world apart from the numerous hotels we stopped into for a bite to eat or wifi or a restroom -- all those had tour buses and were far larger...

When we arrived there were a few other couples around the pool, but after we cam back fro the sunset over the dunes camel-ride experience there were no other guests, which felt very strange. DInner was fine if a strange hybrid of French and Moroccan. Service was laid back but OK. AIr Con in the kids room disn't work at...

We stayed here in late September, perhaps a bit too close to summer. There are some very nice, and some not so pleasant, things about Auberge Dar Kerkaoua, and rather than extol the romantic setting (which it is) maybe better to examine pros and cons so the new visitor knows what expect. On the positive side, the enclosed "Dar" is...

I stayed two days in this wonderful auberge in the desert. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The food and beverage was very good. Mme Bouchra is an incredible host, and they did everything in their hands to make my stay as good as you can imagine in this desolate place. I spend a night in a tent in...

If you a visiting the desert to enjoy nature and the uniqueness of this part of the world AND want comfortable accommodation this is the place for you. We were not disappointed and the overnight trip to the private camp that was part of our booking was one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had. As others have...

We stayed here recently, and found the owners and staff very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The gardens are stunning with hidden tented seating areas beautifully decorated. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a hamman which was very relaxing, also a swimming pool which I am sure would be great to use when the weather is warmer. The...

“Tent camp is basic. There is properly made bed with very firm mattress and pillow adequate blankets. Lighting is by candlelight both outside and inside tent. Very clean community bathroom with tile floors and tent walls and blanket door. Sink is basin with water from copper bucket with spout. and small mirror. Showers are available at the camp. Tents could be claustrophobic to some. We left the blanket door up all night which was fine.”
