AguaCalientes is a no car town, so location become dominant. La Cabana has two properties, one new construction about 5 mins from the train station and another one about 15 mins away, which is the older property with larger lobby and most photos on tripadvisor. Either one can be favorable based on your needs. For example, if you are a...

Pros: Staff was very accommodating with an extra long checkout when I wasn't feeling well. Filtered water was available in the lobby. Ample & varied breakfast. Cons: On warm days the rooms were stuffy and difficult to cool down. The hotel's attractive open air concept seemed to amplify sounds (showers, conversations, etc). Because it's almost at the top of the...

I guess because it is in Aguas Calientes, it charges more than it deserves. After one-day hiking, it is really exhausted to climb another few flours to reach this hotel, not to mention your room might be at the fourth floor. The staff are friendly. The breakfast is good! However, the room is average at best. The hot water supply...

The staff was very helpful and friendly, the free breakfast was great. The rooms were tiny & the bathrooms were smaller. We stayed for a quick overnight. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The open air quality made for a loud night with all the neighbourhood dogs. Bring your ear plugs.

My girlfriend and I showed up to Aguas Calientes after the 4 day Lares trek. Needless to say, we were physically and mentally exhausted. Upon our arrival to La Cabana, the receptionist could tell that we needed some attention, and before we knew it, we were reclined in our room with two satisfying mugs of coca tea. We had a...

This review is for the relatively new branch of "La Cabana" hotel, the one just up from the craft market and the train station. We spent one night there, and I guess one's experience would actually depend on the type of room one gets. We were a group of 12, so some of us got rooms with no windows, others...

The hotel we thought we booked was being remodeled, and we were placed in their brand new luxury hotel by the train station. The room was big, clean, new, with a jetted tub. It smelled of fresh paint, had no art on the walls, had a dozen lights in the ceiling--very modern, generic, and soulless. It could have been anywhere...

When we got to the hotel we were upgraded to the new Hotel La Cabana Machu Picchu. It was beautiful and modern. The team members were very welcoming. We plan on staying at Hotel La Cabana now if we go back to Aqua Calientes.

We were given a lovely warm welcome, the breakfast was gorgeous, the rooms romantic and the bed was covered with rose petals and very comfortable. The Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help and answer questions. There is free coffee and water in the foyer, you may need to spray your room for mosquitos. I...

First off, this hotel has 2 buildings in town separated by a 15 minute walk. Which building you end up in is at the discretion of the reception so good luck with that. They do not show up at the train station to pick you up even though they promise and given this is a mountaneous town, get ready to...
