We stayed here for one night and this hotel looks nice from the outside but is not that great. Some of the rooms overlook the mountains but we had one that was up against a rock wall. The water was flowing down the rocks constantly and our room was damp. It actually smelled bad with a musty and sewer type...

From the moment you approach El MaPi Hotel you know this is not a typical hotel. The exterior has tree branches imbedded in the facade. . Checking in is an experience in and of itself. The room key is in a small reusable purselike bag.Being shown to your room, you will see various quotes relating to very philosophical and ecological...

We got a room in the 400s (Didn't have a choice- the only 3 beds- room available). We were already advised by Trip Advisor not to take the 428 as the dogs are really loud and since it backs into the woods, people have had stuff stolen through the windows! So we had to carry our luggage up the slopes/...

El Mapi is located 2 blocks from the bus stand for Machhu Pichu, 3 blocks from the train station, and right at the main market street of Aguas Callientes. This hotel, maintained by Inkaterra group, is a hotel with modern facilities. Although it is advertised as a 3-star hotel, it does give an impression of a higher-star hotel. Our Matrimony...

This was our Favourite hotel from the trip to Peru. Right in the centre of town so great location for the markets, buses, trains, and lots and lots of restaurants. Eco shower and products. Breakfast was fine - nothing fancy but everything you would need. We ate in the restaurant twice - once awful - second time fantastic... would stay...

This hotel is in a great spot in the middle of town, it is just a short walk up from the train station and a short walk to the main square. The rooms have been renovated and look very new and clean, unfortunately we had a room near the front and all the noise from the bar and restaurant could...

As another person commented, Aquas Caliente is a kind of shanty town designed solely to serve the local hydro plant and the travellers to Machu Pichu as it really only has rail access to the town. Within the town, the somewhat eclectic buildings and streets (no cars other than on the route the bus takes to the Machu Pichu entrance)...

Very nice rooms but with minimal furnishings, comfortable beds. Nice bathroom, good shower with lots of hot water. No refrigerator, no air conditioning. Flat screen TV with a few English channels. Located in the center of town in the middle of everything. Friendly staff. We had a good meal in their restaurant for dinner. Good Breakfast. This hotel is an...

Aguas Calientes is something of a shanty town but is the main starting point for any visit to Machu Picchu. However the hotel would not be out of place in a major city. A modern, boutique style hotel with all the amenities you would expect. Friendly efficient Staff with a good quality restaurant and extensive breakfast

We stayed here for two nights so that we could do the early morning walk up huayna picchu. Out of the accommodation choices in Aguas Calientes I'm very happy we chose El Mapi. Great luggage service, perfect location, large comfortable bed, nice breakfast and dinner included, cosy bar where we had a couple of delicious pre dinner cocktails. Our room...
