Super friendly hosts, absolutely lovely meals, very comfortable room; all at a very fair price. If you thinking of going to Doudj, this is the place to stay, 30 minutes from the gate, but well worth it!

The Lampsar Lodge is an excellent choice to stay when you plan on visiting Saint-Louis (30 min drive) and/or the different nature parks/reserves in the North of Senegal. We booked 2 nights, but because of our very pleasant stay, we ended up staying 4 nights. The location is absolutely stunning. The The rooms were clean, with proper mosquito nets and...

I stayed at Lampsar Lodge for 3 nights whilst exploring Djoudj and surrounding areas for Black Crowned Cranes and other waterbirds. With a great rustic appeal, the Lodge was tranquil, clean and well situated just off the main road in a tranquil setting along the river. The food took me by surprise - it was really good! English was a...

After an exhausting journey from Dakar amid rubbish, traffic jams and stinky buses arriving at Lampsar Lodge was kind of unreal. Finally a quiet place, a splendid view on the peaceful river, surrounded by birds and rice fields. Food in the restaurant - on the river!- was very good.

Lampsar Lodge was a fantastic choice for us two ladies! Tranquil, beautiful, with a fantastic and helpful family that accommodated all our needs. They organised a tour to Djoudj and Laguna Barborie, with a fantastic English-speaking bird guide. Excellent place to stay away from the bustling St. Louis streets, great food and comfortable chalets with air-con, jaccuzzi and a pool!...

We stayed at Lampsar Lodge for 2 nights! What a great decision! The location, food, rooms and family who run the lodge were incredible! They went out of their way to assist us and organised an English bird guide as we were down to do birding. The entire experience was well worth it and I would definitely recommend it to...

The instructions on how to get here are clear: From St. Louis drive 30 kms to the outskirts of the village of Ndiaye, turn left and follow the Lampsar river to the lodge. There is even a sign indficating where to turn off for the lodge. The problem is Africa being Africa, the driver will start asking the villagers along...

Not an upscale hotel, but exactly what it purports to be: a remote, serene, small lodge on a branch of the beautiful, tranquil Senegal River. The hosts speak little English, but they are charming and extremely helpful. When a few things were not just right they quickly fixed them. And the food was very good -- it better be, because...

Along the Senegal river, some birds flying over and some great food... Lampsar Lodge offers it all ! It's truly a great place to lay back and enjoy nature. And the owner's are very nice people and their animals too. Don't miss the place if you arrive up to Saint-Louis !

Lampsar was truly an oasis in Senegal. My husband and I embarked on a re-honeymoon in Senegal and didn't regret a minute of selecting Lampsar to end the trip. Although hardly any of our drivers knew about Lampsar( they especially couldn't find it in the dark :) - it was the perfect secluded ending to our two week trip in...
