We were 3 people visiting Kandy for two days/ 1 night. The hotel is well located in downtown, with good walking distance to markets and restaurants. The building is old, British style architecture mansion converted into a hotel. While I really appreciate and enjoyed the effort to maintain the old style, some people may be creeped out by the long,...

Staff were resistant to giving us a menu to order from when we first arrived for lunch, was told only the buffet was available. After going through the buffet and finding a cockroach crawling through the salad bowl I persisted until I got a menu. Ordered a steak sandwiche that was tasty and well cooked, beer was cold.

Stayed at the Queens hotel whilst in Kandy. I love the period the British architecture. The staff are friendly are friendly and helpful. English is spoken here for foreign visitors. Hotel is clean. Breakfast was good. Only 2 issues I had. The elevator is very unreliable which becomes a problem especially for handicap or elderly to then navigate steps. The...

Happened to stay at this hotel for 2 nights to visit nearby places like peradiniya botanical garden, tooth relic... Hotel reflects its colonial fashion in all aspects like furniture, lift etc., The room was good and I cannot say it is super clean. I could see paint falling out from wall in some corners. It was noisy all the day...

As plenty of other people have commented, this hotel is in the perfect location to get to anywhere around central Kandy without having to faff around finding taxis/tuktuks. The hotel itself still has that air of colonial splendour - with the airy and expansive lobby, grand ballroom, and atmospheric bar area. Our room was large and spotlessly clean. The bathroom...

The hotel has that colonial style which is so charming...the employees with the classic uniforms and white gloves, that is really nice. I stayed with my boyfriend just for one night in a corner suite, with the balcony right in front of the Temple of the tooth and the lake. So, the location was great! And the suite was really...

Booked into this hotel for a weekend visiting Kandy. We chose it because of its price and more importantly its location. This is Avery central hotel and all the main sites are easily accesible. The hotel is very colonial in style and the rooms large and spacious. Unfortunately the outlook is over the busy street and the windows do nothing...

Without a doubt the Queen's hotel is in a envious location within the city; close to the impressive temple and the lake and city centre. It is a grand edifice and it oozes past colonial charm with a grand staircase, heigh ceilings and hardwood floors. But old buildings must be very expensive to up-keep and this has not been done...
