It was our first time to Kandy. the Queens Hotel is directly opposite Tooth Relic temple and in front of Kandy lake. The staff were friendly and the hotel brings back flashbacks of colonial life. We only ate breakfast in the hotel and the buffet/ set menu was limited and ordinary. If a large hotel chain like Accor got hold...

I stayed here recently with my family. On the positive side the hotel has a brilliant location on the lake and immediately opposite the Temple of the Tooth. The building itself is very grand but has very much faded from (I assume) former glories. The rooms are very dated, but clean - probably not an unexpected standard for the price....

Stayed with family. good value for money, good location, close to main shopping mall and the temple with a view of the lake from the room. The staff were also friendly too. Has a very nice historical, colonial feel.

We chose this hotel because of its position and it is indeed excellent, being right in the middle of Kandy right beside the lake. We also thought its heritage aspect would be appealing but this proved to be a mixed blessing as my wife thought it amounted to simply being 'down at heel'. The room decor was from another century...

The hotel is well located near to The Tooth Temple an and Lake. It looks grand from the outside and even when you step into the lobby. However, the rooms are a disappointment and sleep quality is poor. My comments relate to our room which was booked by a tour agent and unfortunately faced the road (and lake). I think...

I got the room at a cut rate and I must say it was underwhelming. I appreciated the central location as well as the AC in my room but the hotel was fairly run down, with a kettle that didn't plug in to the wall correctly and a fixtures that could definitely be replaced. The outside of the hotel is...

We stayed at the Queens Hotel in Kandy for one day on our very first vacation to beautiful Sri Lanka. The hotel is truly a beautiful colonial pearl within a short walk of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. When we entered the hotel from the busy streets of Kandy, we were welcomed by the smiling staff to the sound...

The best thing about this hotel is its very central location in Kandy, just across the road from the Temple of the Tooth, close to the lake, and close to shops and banks. It is, however, on a corner and the traffic noise can be a problem in some rooms. I had a single room in the "West Wing", which...

Either you love this hotel or you hate it. You love it when you like the old English colonial style. The elevator, the creaking wooden floors, the ill fitting doors, the wonderful windows that expose you mercilessly to the outside traffic noise, the magnificent entrance and the glorious dining room. You hate it when you look into the totally outdated...
