Not a bad hotel for the price, but don't use the guys at the tour desk to organise anything. I asked how much for a round of golf and got quoted $140 USD. I went online and it was $70 USD a round. I then asked how much for a vehicle to Colombo airport and got quoted 9000 rupee. I... More

One of Sri Lanka’s iconic historic hotels which was established in 1844. This is a British colonial type hotel with some similarities to Gall Face Hotel in Colombo Sri Lanka. Great place if you wish to spend more time in the Temple of Tooth Relic, visit museums and other ancient places in and around Kandy city. Excellent hospitality received from... More

The Queen's belongs to the same company as the Galle Face in Colombo and the atmosphere is distinctly olde worlde; Victorian fittings and furniture, polished wooden floors and attentive service. It could probably do with a good renovation to bring it up to the same standard as the Galle Face, everything is a bit rickety and faded but it has... More

Excellent with nice atmosphre and serviceminded staff. Located by the Kandy lake and the buddish temple with the sacred tooth cross the street. We stayed for 3 nights in a lovely big room with a balcony overview the lake.

Great location, great value, heritage hotel. Lots of bad reviews of this hotel, but found our room excellent after a real dump the night before. Our room was on first floor of main building and may have been better than other rooms reviewed. Very comfortable bed. Central location and able to walk to nearby attractions.

Not that you cannot have a decent meal anywhere else but this place is very good for the location is a sort of four-star place, white tablecloth and seems to me that is an upscale place to go and eat yes it is expensive but sometimes you just want to go away and spend some time in a quiet place... I was looking forward to a sty in this place, but that was probably the biggest mistake. The building is incredible piece of colonial architecture, and the location couldn´t be possibly better, but that is it. The interior is just old and as the house is loosing its glamour, so is the staff losing its enthusiasm. Such a shame! Bathroom... More

The hotel is very impressive as a piece of grand colonial architecture, but in horrible need of renovations & modernizing into the 21st century. Many electrical appliances do not function like air-conditioners & ceiling-fans. The windows don't shut properly & the ancient doors have gaping cracks due to being hung crookedly. The front office manager was extremely insulting to me... More

We stayed at the Queens Hotel in August to see the Perahera. Our Travel Agent had booked us here due to the convenience to the Perahera at a huge cost (USD300 per night + USD300 for Perahera tickets). Sadly, from the moment we arrived it was a huge disappointment. It is such a grand hotel but it seems the current... More
