We had a good time at this place. Don't bother with the elephant orphanage. It's very overpriced and it's not very nice being hustled for money every time you look at an elephant. Pinnawala itself is a one horse town at best. However it was such a treat to relax on the hotel verandah and watch the beautiful elephants bathing...

Dirty and worn-out hotel. I cannt recommend to sleep here. Only reason to visit is a nice terrace to see elephant´s morning bath. This is only reason (40 minutes turistic show) to go to Pinnawala village.

*We came here for 2 nights, but after first night we wanted to change hotel. Our room was dirty, there was one used towel in the bathroom, insect everywhere and not hot water in the bathroom. * We asked at the reception to quit our stay, because we wanted to go to another hotel, but the "manager" told us, it...

This hotels main attribute is its position on the river , our room on the top floor gave us wonderful views of the river and elephants . The hotel can be very busy at lunch times , because of coach loads of tourists who call for lunch prior to visiting the elephant orphanage . But evening dinner is much more...

The good thing about this hotel is the elephants - and that's pretty much it. Rooms and overall hotel were not clean (hair in beed, dust everywhere - must have been ages that soneone cleaned...) we did not feel comfortable at all. I can not recommend staying here. Maybe better come for a day trip?

Too many people at the same time ..... obviously staged for the elephant times to the river but , what a shame! There are signs around saying don't feed the elephants , then the keepers are taking back handers from the visitors to have photos taken with or feeding the elephants. Sad to see..... the hotel has limited WC toilet...

nice hotel, very big, clean, cosy, calm atmosphere, you can see elephants many times a day, they come to the hotel°s restaurant, you can see them also from the balcony of your room but a little bit far...some nice terraces, very beautiful views... too expensive, there is another one and in a better position just 100metres from this hotel and costs much less and it gives you a chance...

The hotel is situated in nice green surroundings with a sounding beautiful river flowing at its back yards. The rooms are pretty clean. The restaurant facing the flowing river and green forest where the elephants can be seen is an added attraction. The minus point is that the main entrance of the hotel is at the end of a small...

Pinnawala is a must see for kids and adults. Elephant Bay Hotel has family rooms, is clean, tidy and friendly. Great place for viewing and feeding the beautiful elephants. Shopping in the main street where elephants come and go is good - many things you won't find elsewhere in Sri Lanka. Riding elephants was a lot of fun especially for...

We stayed here just 1 night, but it was worth it, the elephants come to the river twice a day and come right up to the back of the hotel. Here you can touch them or feed them with bananas and you don't need to pay the entrance fees to see them at the end of the road. There are...
