Do not stay here... we didn't book the hotel, our guide brought us here for one night. I will admit the beach is great, but the greatness ends there. The rooms were musty and gross. My husband had to kill several cockroaches...beds are dirty. The AC in our room did not work, and the fan was so loud it kept...

We stayed here on a package tour. The cabins/cabanas were very cute and small. The roof hung a bit low so there wasn't great airflow when sitting on the porch but the view is great. It felt like being in a shaded forest next to the beach. The cabanas were spaced very far apart and very private. The AC was...

Hotel is located 8km from Tangalle, so if you need/want to get there you need to take a bajaj (might be expensive but the prices depend on your haggling abilities ;)) or bus (veeery cheap). Great garden just on the ocean beach - it seems to be a part of paradise. The rooms are basic but clean. The staff are...

We skipped fully booked Mirissa and found this cabana through our driver. What more luxury may one expect for guesthouse rate while right at the beach, a garden with nice pool, cabana with airco and balcony? Only minus for me that the bed was set against the wall on one side and the maintenance is not 100%, but, as stated,...

We recently spent 5 nights here and it was a wonderful experience. Yes, the rooms are a bit basic and would benefit from a lick of paint, but the friendly staff, great food and superb location more than made up for it. It is a really secluded place with a fantastic empty beach. Most days we were the only people...

It was a lovely place to relax, and go to the beach, but not for doing much else. This is not in Tangalle, as we thought, but at a very secluded beach with almost no tourism - this, obviously, has it's pros and cons. The scenery is gorgeous, and the beach is clean. The hotel restaurant is the only food...

Manahara Beach Cottage & Cabanas is about 8 kms. away from Tangalle. That means taking a three-wheeler or a bus every time you want go to Tangalle. If, like me, you have no problem in taking a bus (just Rs. 10), it's not a problem at all... But taking a bajaj can become a very expensive habit. When I was...

We stayed here in January at the end of a 10 day tour. The room was great, the staff really friendly, food good, but the location was outstanding. We had a gorgeous mangrove fringed beach practically to ourselves, we could have stayed for weeks! A complete contrast to Mirissa.

We spent 10 days at Manahara over the holidays and enjoyed every moment. Our cabana was very comfortable with air conditioning and mosquito netting. They even had a baby bed for our 13 month child. The accommodation is perfectly suited to the environment. A little rustic but that is why one chooses this type of property. We visited many beaches...

A peaceful place with a fabulous bathing spot (bay). Suberb place to put your legs up and read or play some board games. Highly recommended for family get-togethers, cooperate brainstorming sessions and retreats. The menue consist of Eastern and Western foods.
