The owners are really nice, but this place is beyond rustic. Cab drops you out at end of the road and you walls a block to the "resort." You walk right past an open/damaged sewer line... Literally stepped in sewage before checking in.... Transportation to town is difficult, the cabins themselves have AC, but there is zero insulation and lots...

AC was out but managed OK. If you want a rustic great location this is it. Exactly like it was described and the owners were fun to talk to, helpful and overall great. The son's brewery was a close walk and good beer and Ginger ale which mixed well with rum. Breakfast was great.

I loved Koko Resort, and let me list some reasons: 1. The sunsets: Comfy, breezy hammock to watch the Caribbean sun shine off glassy Saigon Bay. 2. The neighbors: I love to mix with locals, and the neighbors of all ages are always on the sidewalk and willing to share their lives, if you're willing to smile, care, and let...

If you are ok with the "Must Read" by Jack and Lee on the website, you'll not be surprised and will love Bocas and KoKo. We stayed in Starfish cabin which is the furthest out. It was spacious and peaceful with a fantastic view. Yes, there are termites but the dust was limited to a few spots; we worked around...

We were shocked when we arrived! Nothing like the pictures on the site! The cabins on the water is a step above camping! $240 a night and not a resort for sure! The cabin had old bedding, appliances rusted with a mix match of dishes! Termites dust on sheets not a place I would return. We thought we could swim...

We stayed in the starfish cabin for two nights in February and had a great time. We thought the cabin was fun to stay in; we loved jumping off the dock and sitting on the deck. We were prepared for the 'rustic-ness', and that, it was. But that's part of the fun. My only concern was that the AC wouldn't...

If you read Jack's "Must Read" before you book, I don't think you'll be disappointed. It was what we consider a cabin. We enjoyed Jack, Lee and Zoro. They had a lot of knowledge on things to do and breakfasts were great! We were there to scuba dive so didn't do much touring. We didn't have extreme termite issues like...

It's been awhile since we've been here but we plan on going back. We almost missed our flight back to Panama City and they arranged a kamikaze taxi driver that got us to the micro airport in record time, tires squealing the whole trip due to the speed. Owner makes a great breakfast and any scraps go in the water...

We only stayed for one night though we were planning on four. The hosts were able to help with information and activities. But the cabin was not clean when we arrived due to the overwhelming amount of termite dust. It was in the bed in the loft, the dresser on the first floor, on the stove (so we couldn't use...

5 stars are for the owners who go out of their way to be helpful, organizing snorkelling tours (recommended), taxis to and from the boats and airport etc. They are both American, so speaking English is no problem. A hearty breakfast is served in the nearby Bahia de Sol B and B (where they live). They are both very interesting...
