Strangely my room doesn't look like those in the pictures. Extremely old and retro rooms. A little dusty for a hotel. Construction outside and can be a nuisance in the day. Breakfast as part of the deal and for 80usd, I probably can't complain too...More
Straddling decades the Astoria reflects all that is Mumbai , functional , warm and convinient to work places in South Mumbai.
The hotel is opposite the Church Gate station and hence accessible to most part of Mumbai.

Reasonable hotel but wi-fi is slow and limited to two devices. Staff in the restaurant were helpful. The gym was small but reasonable. The biggest disadvantage apart from the wi-if was the rooms have very limited sockets and are not good for working in.

This ‘Queen’s Necklace’ is a beautiful drive along the coast of South Mumbai stretching from Nariman Point in the south to Malabar Hill in the north. The sea-facing promenade offers a favourite break time for Mumbai locals – college students, families, couples, tea & coffee vendors, foot and head massagers and photographers often flock to gossip or just gaze at the skyline. The views during the monsoons (June till
September) are particularly breathtaking. Studded with Chowpatty Beach for its lip-smacking street food, Bachelor’s for its unique ice creams and India’s oldest aquarium, at night the streetlights along this drive enhance the dramatic arch of the bay.
