We stayed here with our 2year old kid ... This is a perfect location if you are visiting the US consulate, close proximity, they also have free drop facility. The hotel is also near to the metro stations and public transport. The airport is just 30mins away via cab.
Room was compact with all the amenities and well maintained , neat and clean.
Complementary breakfast spread was great with some live counter as well. Also we found there was a printer which could be of great use for the official purpose!
The staffs are thoroughly welcoming and helpful. Mr Ajith , Ms Farhim , Ms. Malswamkimi and the other staffs had been really kind and made nice bonding with our kid. From the front desk personnel to the housekeeping team, the kitchen crew, and management, each person was efficient and willing to attend any request! Would definitely recommend this hotel !

This hotel did not meet our expectations while on a lengthy tour of India. Getting to the reception area requires a drive through a construction area that made us wonder where we were going. The entire hotel reminded us of the 1980s with orange molded plastic chairs and black plastic tables. Nothing in the entire hotel bespoke the fact we were in India. This hotel is definitely not conducive for tourists or those preferring an authentic Indian experience. The rooms were small and the bathroom was as small as one would find in a cabin on a cruise ship. Minimal toiletries. We had to ask for towels, soap, and toilet paper. Food in the restaurant was fine when we specified what we'd like to eat. The service was good.

I stayed here on 27th March 2021 and check out the next day. The condition of the room was very poor. There were no slippers and the shower door was not cleaned properly. In room dining was a bad experience, I ordered one Club Sandwich which I received along with French fries as sides and it has got a burned kind of taste to it plus the food was cold. FnB staffs were very helpful, Bala the bartender made me an amazing drink and Meba was very helpful during breakfast buffet. At the time of checkout, I had asked the receptionist to kindly split my food bills and liqueur bills, but after informing that, he still made an error. I had to wait for like 15-20mins to get the copy of my invoice. Overall it was a terrible experience I had.

Located in a bustling area, being 10 mins away from the Marina beach and 30-40 mins from the airport, Ibis chennai city centre promised to be a worthwhile place but it failed to deliver on the expectations completely. Starting with check in- took almost 10 mins with no other guests being present at that time. The room was really small which seems to be the 'ibis standard'. There was no bathrobe, the shower height adjustment connection was broken and it was really discomfort able, the toilet flush wasn't sticking to the wall properly. TV played only free channels. The locker in the room was not functional. There was no guide to tour the city and being asked regarding the same, the reply from the front desk was to 'google' it and to catch a bus from outside. I wonder if that's the training provided to Accor employees. The reason offered was that this is a 'business' hotel and that's why they don't provide any information about tourist attractions to their residents. Regarding the food, the price was touching sky high similar to the rates of Pullman hotel and when it comes to the taste, it wasn't worth paying that absurd cost whatsoever. Maybe that's why we saw so many people ordering food from outside and getting it delivered at the gates. Also, the service at breakfast was super slow and very unprofessional. I had to continuously remove the soiled plates from the table by myself as there was nobody to pay attention in the restaurant. Covid 19 protocols were in place and the employees were seen using masks. Shoe shiner machines were available at the lift entrances. Having stayed at hotels all over the world, this lack of professionalism and motivation seems to be a byproduct of the salary cuts implemented by the management under the disguise of covid measures in the hospitality industry. I would not recommend Ibis chennai city centre to anyone who is looking for a enjoyable stay in Chennai.

The only good thing about this property is its location, rest all is budget in outlook. Right from their service, to their rooms to their offerings. Rooms are bad and pathetic. Cable TV offered has got only free channels, no channel worth seeing.
As I was leaving very early in the day, I asked them to pack a breakfast on the go. First day it was good but on the second day when I asked them to pack the same, they have me two pieces of bread and a butter packet. When asked, they said it was a communication error. Only other redeeming feature other than the location are the front office staff who are friendly.

Worst experience ever. Firstly the entrance itself is shady. You have to take an entire round to actually enter the hotel entrance. Then the reception is not in ground floor it's in 5th floor. You will see people randomly sitting at the entrance lobby which is very unsafe if you are a solo female traveler. The front office staff is the worst. They are super slow, zero coordination they took so much time to check in and gave me a room which doesn't have a main door lock. How safe! Imagine you go to check your room and the door is already open. When i asked the front office manager said my housekeeping just made your room so they would have left it open. To my shock the so called cleaned room bathroom was not clean. It has poop stains. I refused to stay in that room and asked for a room change. The front office manager takes me to another room that is assigned to me..to my shock it was a room which is still.not cleaned and was so called not ready . The front office manager called the front desk to check for another room. Finally I got a room after 45 mins and it was just 30 kins left for the dinner buffet to close. The food was pathetic. Cold and tasteless may be because I was the last guest to eat. The restaurant staff is oki but again no coordination between the department. They don't have tetra pack juices on the go they pour in a glass and give you if you ask for a packed breakfast. Overall horrifying experience ..never going back
