The hotel is good, as per the expectations. Spacious, good AC, very comfortable bed, no noise.

However there were a couple of very "annoying" things. The elevators take a long time. Although there are four, they are all connected, so you can only call one at a time. With 36 floors (?), sometimes it caused quite a queue.

There is no AC/fan in the elevators. At 30°, it is very uncomfortable. Also, the room card was always loosing the "code", which meant I could not use the elevator. I was there 3 nights, had to go to the reception to recode the card twice.

Another really annoying thing is the juice/water dispenser at breakfast. It was so slow, but so slow, that I would loose patient, it is ridiculous

This is a decent hotel with a fantastic view and good location. I was on the top floor and it was a very long elevator ride but I could see everything from there. The breakfast was fine not great. Service was good.

First of all, Recife is an absolutely beautiful city. If you are looking for an amazing coastal city to visit in Brazil, Recife won't disappoint. The Transamerica Prestige Beach Class International Hotel is all about LOCATION. The beach is across the street and all the good restaurants are a cheap cab ride away. Do not be afraid to take cabs in Recife. Everything is close so the most you'll ever spend on a ride is around R$20 (Brazilian). There were a couple of things that kept me from giving this hotel a 5 star experience, the main thing being the price. This is an expensive stay. The rooms are clean and large with everything you'll need including a giant air conditioner which you'll be worshiping after experiencing the heat and humidity of Recife. Our room had 2 large flat-screen TVs and a small balcony to sit on and watch the ocean. The bathroom was big and the shower huge with perfect water temperature and pressure. The staff are super friendly and will go out of their way to help you with anything. Breakfast was standard Brazilian fair with a large variety of fresh fruits and breads. My next complaint didn't take away from the overall experience, but I found it a little uncomfortable. The elevators (I know, dumb complaint) had no air and were pretty slow. If you are going 28 floors up after being in the heat and humidity of Recife, you'd like some fresh air or a fan. The elevators need some work. The other thing is that the towels were a bit stiff. My mother would have given them her fabric softener. Not a big complaint at all. The last thing was that the food from room service was anywhere from just okay to absolutely awful. DO NOT ORDER A PIZZA! Get a cab and go to a nice pizza place in Recife. The steak was okay. Again, my overall impression was very good. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. They have a cab service right out front of the hotel so there's always one ready. Everything in Recife is close so they aren't expensive either.

The hotel needs an update since the rooms are in a terrible shape , mattress are very old , furniture are broken , A/C when it works are too small considering how hot it the city , employees need training ….

Hotel precisa de uma revitalização imediata . Quartos com colchões velhos , móveis quebrados , ar condicionado não consegue vencer o forte calor da cidade , funcionários mal treinados etc

I travel 4-5 times a year to Recife and this is the first time, I stayed here. And from now on, I plan to stay here every time, when I go to Recife because its the best in the city. I can say this safely, after having stayed in three other high ranking hotels in Recife. This time I stayed here in this hotel, for almost 9-10 days, in a superior room on 28th floor. My review is basis my stay of 9-10 days here basis this room.

Pros :

1. Excellent room with beach view. Excellent spacious bathroom. smell/looks clean.
2. Excellent front desk. You guys rock! very efficient, very helpful, very high sense of integrity and always there to assist. No words are enough to compliment you guys. A very special thanks to "ms Cara", the manager. you rock, ma'am.
3. decent breakfast with many choices including ordering egg of yr choice.
4. Excellent hi-fi internet good enough to watch you tube or make skype calls. No broken connections. worked fantastically.
4. Round the clock hot water. Never stopped. I took bath at different times of the day on different days.
5. The hotel restaurant is adequate. Nothing great. But decent service.
6.Excellent air conditioning in the room. well controlled by remote. No noise.
7. The room has a iron board and iron.
8. The room has a safe.
9. The bed was nice , soft, big and adequate.
10. Their are 3-4 restaurants situated in walking distance from the S1 floor of the restaurant on the back side. Perfect for busy travelers.
11. Hotel is in a very safe area of town.
12. Housekeeping was very efficient.

The cons :
1. The room is not exactly noise free. Several times , I heard noise from the roof, from the room above and also from outside the door especially by housekeeping staff banging doors early in the morning. Really disturbing and irritating. Please train them!!
2. No complimentary water bottle on arrival. It costs nothing to give a complimentary water bottle to arriving guest. C'mon, hotel managers reading my review!
3. The in - room bar is very highly priced. The prices are almost tripple the actual prices.
4. The housekeeping staff does not respect the "do not disturb" sign and insisits on banging yr door early in the morning. I had to complain several times, before it eventually stopped!
5. The hotel does not have enough taxis standing nearby 24 hours a day. Several times I had to go on road to fetch the taxi. 2-3 staff guys sitting outside, to help guests continued playing with their cell phones exchanging whatsapp messages with their friends and ignoring the guests needs. They were very arrogant. Need training!
6. The gym is very ordinary and small. I wish they open a bigger gym. They have so much space!!

Overall, compared to other hotels, this is really the best. The positives are much more valuable than the negatives. I plan to stay here again. I recommend to you as well.

Dear Sally, It is a pleasure to welcome you and we are very happy with your choice of staying with us. It is very gratifying to receive all your praises and some observations which certainly contribute to better serve you and to our development. Regarding your observations, we reinstructed the governance team to better focus on the "do not disturb" sign and to avoid moving furniture or doors during the execution of cleaning procedures, especially in the morning. As for the taxis, we will be redirecting all drivers to better meet the needs of our guests. We suggest that in your next reservation, please copy the email maugusto@transamerica.com.br in the request, including the taxi. We are delighted to know you intend to return and that you will be always in the city. You are always welcome and feel free to count on us always at every opportunity! When your on the beach in Recife its difficult to remember what the room was like. I'll try to pull it together for a helpful review though...
The good - Location, friendly staff, small gym, pool, breakfast is ok, internet is ok
The bad - elevators are a little on the frustrating side and NO ATM's!!! you have to go to the mall or the airport to exchange money and some days it is real difficult to find an ATM that works.

The room - comfortable bed, clean, small balcony

Most important -
Out the back door is a row of bars and restaurants. A security guard will buzz you in and out, it is really close. There is a brazilian steak house just down the road maybe 7min walk.

The beach is across the street and the hotel will lend you a beach towel but will charge you a 50R fee if you lose it. The beach chairs are free if you buy drinks from them, 2-4x regular price depending on the day.

I skipped the hotel gym and hit the beach, they have pull up bars, pushup bars, and situp pads every couple of km's up and down the beach.

The energy here is great. Didn't spend much time in the room. Enjoy Recife!

This hotel is "brand new", and rooms are very spacious, almost all with ocean view. Staff is trained properly and facilities are a notch above a 3 star hotel. While this hotel might suit your business needs I wouldn´t recomend Recife for tourism, Boa Viagem beach simply does not make the cut as a world class destination.

On the bad side, food is really really bad. Make your way to the safe bets and avoid any kind of local cuisine or more sophisticated offering. If you have the option, by all means eat somewhere else.

Pros:
- Instalations are new
- Rooms are really spacious and with ocean view
- Silent (except for some low level rooms that are near a night club 2 blocks away - avoid those)
- Good Sleepware

Cons:
- The food; bad even for 3 star hotel standards

The hotel seems to be oriented only on business people. During our 2 week holidays in Brazil it was the only place where we did not feel welcome.

The most surprising moment for us was when we were told that borrowing fork and knife to your room costs extra money - c.a. 2 EUR each.

Few times it happened that there was no electricity in the hotel.

The magnetic card to access the room needed to be recharged 4 times during our 3-day visit.

Maybe the hotel is good for business visits, but we would not recommend it for holiday stays.

Dear Mr. Piotrek, Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. We are sorry to know that you didn't have a pleasing experience in our hotel. We are sorry about the episodes of power outage. We would like to clarify that the blackout moments reported were not the hotel's fault. There was an instability in the city's power supply, which caused the power outages. In fact, we are the only hotel in the city with a generator not only in the social areas, but also in the apartments. While our guests had a few moments of power failure, guests of other hotels in the city spent hours without power. About the elevators, these operate with a key card access system, aiming to provide greater security to our guest. The buttons of our elevators are composed of touch screen sensor, so you should just move your finger over the number of the desired floor, after releasing the elevator with the key card.

This is my first stay in this hotel and I would come back. The staff is friendly, the room is correct and it is well located at the Boa Viagem beach (mind the sharks). Restaurants are within walking distance and the area is relatively safe. Breakfast is included and good quality. It is good for business or leisure.

This hotel was great, and is across the street from Boa Viagem beach. The rooms were modern and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The service was great as well, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate my family so that we could have adjoining rooms. We did arrive early in the day, and they temporarily let us use a room to freshen up until our rooms were ready, which was greatly appreciated. The included breakfast was good, with a nice selection of food. While the pool was cold, it was clean and the atmosphere was relaxing. My only 2 complaints are that the sinks in the bathroom do not have hot water (only a single faucet, which was for cold water), and that there are only 220 volt outlets. These are really both minor issues in my opinion.
I would highly recommend this hotel, without hesitation. Also, the valet parking is free, which was a nice surprise.
