Not only is the University Inn subpar, but the staff is extremely rude! The manager "Mike" has forever ruined me on ever staying at the hotel again. There are not many hotel options in Jacksonville, AL, but you are better off sleeping in your car.

By far, this has been the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I had to stay at this hotel since I was working in the nearby area, and all other hotels were booked through Talladega weekend. Staying at the University Inn is like taking a trip back in time 30 years ago because nothing has changed since then. The... More

Late checkin was smooth. Room was old but clean. Beds were comfortable. Good water pressure, hot water, low shower head. Breakfast options are juice/donuts/muffin. Pool ok but area deteriorating. Grounds appeared kept. Price was right when all we needed was to get a few hours rest.

I stayed here on a Fri/Sat nite. Booking was easy and the price was reasonable. I'm surprised, no, shocked by the very unfavorable reviews especially with regard to cleanliness. My room was perfectly clean and there was no problem with noise that some reported. The bed was comfortable and the room was a nice size. The wi-fi signal was strong... More

Nasty nasty nasty. Three couples stayed. Our room had Hugh dead roaches on the floor and even though we requested no room service they entered our room and didn't bother to vacuum up the roaches. One of the other couples had toe nails in their sheets. The other couple had to ask for a different room because their room was... More

Attentive staff, and the pool was nice, but this place is in bad need of renovation. No longer what I would consider a two-star motel. It provided the basics -- a good shower, and air conditioning -- but I think we'll splurge on the Hampton Inn next time.

Just out on a weekend ride about and decided to stay in Jacksonville. The university Inn was a good choice. Very clean, dated but very functional. Accommodating and very friendly staff and manager. Had a slight problem with the TV and was very promptly fixed. WIFI very strong in the room and was a fast connection. The breakfast is coffee,... More

We made reservations here because they were the only ones with an availabe opening, as there was a football game and marathon going on at the same time. We did get a first floor as requested, but the rest was pretty much down from there. Only had smoking room, cigarette burns in the carpet and bedspread. And the room really... More

I'm not a fan of motels or cheap ones at that... But this little place was a nugget. :). Clean and well maintained. I will definitely stay there again. The breakfast was not really a breakfast... Coffee, juice and some donuts. But that's ok... The money I saved choosing that place was not than enough to buy a decent breakfast... More
