I do not recommend this hotel In the detail of the room, there is a microwave, no microwave … There is a hot plate, but no frying pan or saucepan and even less crockery, glass or cutlery A stained and very dirty piece of sofa There are only 4 elevators for 41 floors but used by the service where the garbage cans, the laundry bins, etc. pass with the customers. And the parking is paying, despite the description of the hotel The hotel is located in a shopping center Which is empty, many shops closed Hotel does not correspond to the announcement for services, no wifi, if you like very cold water, go to the swimming pool…. To flee !!!!

I wish I had taken the time to read the reviews of The Shore Hotel & Residences on Tripadvisor before booking. Enough said -- all the terrible reviews that the other guests have written about the place are unfortunately accurate. The only negative thing in an otherwise nice foodie trip to this heritage city.

Guest need to check in before given access to hotel parking at level 3a, 3b and 7 above. Thats a hassle. Wifi was down, sauna was down too. Water park was good but i notice many non-residents there too and doing dangerous stunts like sliding on the pillar of the gym building. Refer to video. Monkey see monkey do

We stayed for 11 days and would strongly advise the management to update and repair this property. The maintenance to the building is appalling, there is algae in the swimming pools and several large holes in the ceiling above the infinity pool that has mould and is dripping into the pool. A room on floor 13a had water dripping out into the corridor, another room which was left unlocked as not being used was just full of damp and mould, so there is clearly a water seepage issue in the whole building. There were lots of people wearing orange t-shirts with 'Cleaner' written on them, but very little cleaning was being done. The lifts need and engineer to reprogram them, the wait time is very long, there's no point in putting a sign up to tell people to be patient during busy times when clearly they need reprogramming. On the positive side its a good location, with easy access to Jonker street.

Everything was bad. Not a single decent thing to say about this place. I would strongly discourage anyone to stay here. Service was crap and extremely slow with unprofessional staff. Hotel was full when we stayed so it was a zoo. I think they had 5 guest lifts but definitely cannot handle the volume and was sooooo slow. Room was dirty and super run down, looked almost dilapidated. Awfully gross bath and hand towels and stained bed linen. We were “upgraded” to a connecting room which had a faulty lock. We were locked out of our rooms MULTIPLE TIMES even though they came to “fix” it. Imagine with the elevator situation (forever full that we had to wait for a few elevators before we could get in one), it was impossible to even go down to inform the front desk. I wouldn’t come back EVER even if it was a free stay. Utterly disgusted.

I checked into the residences side (Tower 3) of the hotel. The check in / out process was extremely quick with almost zero waiting time. This hotel/residences has a lot of potential due to its location and availability of rooms to cater to small and large families (I stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment). However, I must say the management of this hotel needs to be sacked and replaced with more passionate and competent people. Firstly, at the check in reception area (which is the 1st point of contact), you can see that cleanliness is not their priority. One only have to look up and you can see dust and cob webs accumulating! This is not a 1 or 2 weeks type of accumulation but possibility months! Thankfully the rooms were somewhat clean. The towels provided has some fragrance in it and it is quite overpowering. Some utensils were provided which is a plus point but being an apartment, no washing liquid was provided. Similar to the washing machine/dryer that was provided. Next, if you need hot water, you will need to figure out how to get the heater working. My tip to future guests - it is located at the switches at the living area next to the living room aircond switch and leave it on for about 10 - 15 minutes before you get piping hot water. However, dont be overly excited with the hot water water as from my experience, the hot water heating storage tank tripped the unit's power supply. And here is the kicker, you cannot contact the reception from the room using the unit's phone, you will have to either walk down to the reception area or call them via the general line. This was not explained during the check in process. The maintenance were quick to get the power up and running BUT we were advised not to turn the water heater on and he will be back the next day to fix it (he never did). Here is my 2nd tip, when you want hot water, turn off all air conds, and turn on the water heater, once you have hot water, turn off the water heater and turn your air conds back on. I suspect that it overloads the power supply in the unit. Oh and the hot water will not last more than 5 people showering. To those that are staying at the hotels side, you will need a lot a lot of patience in taking the lift up to your rooms and back down. Management - get your lift supplier to calibrate your lift. When it is full, lifts do not stop and waste more time. And other measures to get the lift working in a more efficient manner. I made a mistake and took this lift up thinking that it will be linked to my unit, but I was wrong and it took me 20 minutes to get back down to the ground floor! Improve your signages please!! Lastly, the cleaning crew. If you were to see them, you wouldnt want them to clean your room. Their attire and outlook doesnt look clean. Some were spitting in public areas. Imagine what they will do in your rooms. Please train them well. As mentioned earlier, this hotel/residences have a good potential but the management doesnt look into all these small matters that pushes future travellers. Location is good, parking is ample, view is superb but get your act together, get to the ground and find out 1st hand. And do this during peak periods please.

This has been a terrible stay. It all started entering the room for the first time. There were no amenities - had to ask for them. The toilet floor was wet. The walkway into the room was wet. Checked at 6 p.m.. Even after paying for 3 pax, the hotel staff wanted to charge RM10 for a towel. No hand towels were given. Only 2 bath towels with no floor mats. When we pushed the lounge chair towards the bed, the area under the chair was dusty and a mop strand was there. The floor tiles popped up - I nearly fell because of the popped up tiles. There was mould in the shower room - where the amenities were placed, the corners and edges of the shower walls, the blinds that covers the glass between the bedroom and the bathroom. The bathtub had brown stains. The sink was filthy with brown stains too. Then housekeeping showed up to clean up the room. But the stains and moulds remained in the room. Day 2 It took 20 mins to wait and travel from the 20th floor to level 3a. The lift stopped at every level as people were trying to get into the lift to go to the ground floor. Upon returning at about 3, the key card didn't work. We just waited 20 mins to go from ground floor up. Then we had to wait for another 20 mins to go down to the front desk to inform them that the card didn't work. When we finally entered the room, I noticed that the room was not made up. I called front desk and told them and they said they will send someone up. But no one came . When we went out for dinner at 6, I went to the front desk and told them about it, they turned around and said hotel guests needed to request for rooms to be made up. There was no sign, no button to inform anyone that the room needed to be made up. After much persistence, yes, the room was made up when returned. Day 3 A knock on the door at 830 . Housekeeping come but I was in the shower. Housekeepingg was informed that people were showering but they demanded to come into the room as "they will not have time later". They were told to come back in an hour. So they waited along the corridor. We went out and returned at about 3 again. Again, the key card didn't work. The cycle of waiting for the lift to go up and down happened again. Then they told us not to put the card near a phone because the phone will cause the card to not work. Day 4 Check out. This time it took me 30 mins to go to the ground floor. My family decided to take the stairs. They were faster than me. This hotel was made to be a residential property - a condo. It is not made to be a hotel! A very terrible stay especially when there are so many lovely places to stay like the Heeren suites.
