Decent place outside the city center. Very insta worthy. You can grab or drive to the Casa del Rio Hotel just 10mins away. There is a huge parking lot at Rm6 per entry. Jonker is just next door. That will save you alot of time. Room is OK and basic toiletries are provided but the thing that was unacceptable is the toilet. It has mold all over in between those wall tiles where you shower. It should be easy to clean so it's quite obvious it was not scrubbed. Toilet bowl is not clean too. I dreaded going to toilet every time. Our room was on the ground floor and it gets noisy if you have group of people or children hangs out at the common area. On our second night, we have kids screaming until 11pm. So perhaps you can ask for 1st or 2nd floor rooms instead. Just be mindful that as the place is quite popular amongst youngster, you can hardly find parking spaces near the hotel. Perhaps the hotel and reserve a few spots just for the ones staying there? Overall, it's an OK place to stay for a night or two as it is close to city center, affordable and it has alot of insta worthy decoration. I do hope the management takes up the initiatives to clean up the toilets as I do think it's not something hard to do which doesn't involve high cost as I do see recurring reviews on this matter.

Location was good and the surroundings were lovely. However, was put off by the fact that the toilet had moulds and was not cleaned properly. Not too sure if other areas were cleaned. I believe regardless of price of hotel, cleanliness should be key. Our room was also not cleaned by room service.

Pros: Rooms are clean. Very comfortable and high quality mattress and pillows. Water in shower is strong and hot. Towels are good. toiletries are provided. Behind the lobby there is a very nice lounging area which is decorated very well. Cons; Rooms are a bit small. Need transportation. To far to walk anywhere. No breakfast. There is a karaoke joint nearby which is quite loud on weekends. But overall for the price it is worth it.

The hotel has a very nice decor - the theme seems to be memories of yesteryear. So there are a lot of items used locally in the 50's and 60's and even cinema posters. The hotel is modelled after buildings of that era. So while there are three floors there is no lift available. The rooms are a bit cramped with barely space to move around, but they are clean. The bathroom was also clean and equipped with a shower stall. We had dinner there and the nyonya food was excellent with just the right amount of spice. It is located in a very busy area with a lot of eateries, but a bit far from the city.

Room Tip: A ground floor room would save you lugging bags up the stairs.

We didn’t stay at this hotel but we had our lunch here last year and then we returned here for the marvelous cendol. Smooth, creamy and flavorful especially the gula melaka. Definitely not sugar but authentic gula melaka. The decor was retro style and very much the baba nyonya heritage furnishings. Would return for another cendol in future.
