Relaxing 2 nights stay during May (Raya). Teams were amazing. Be it Azdi (FO), Siti (house keeping), Chef Zaim, rest of the team at front desk, makan kitchen and axis. The suite is well maintained. All is good: lighting, aircond, water heater. Fast internet. Food were great: special dinner hosted at Axis. Kudos to Chef Zaim illustrating his creativity and magic. Breakfast spread is good. Overall, a decent stay as usual. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thank u so much.
I went in the fitness room for a run on the belt. I found 3 (out of 5) tapis roulant holding a sign with “out of order”. The bad thing is that I was there one month earlier….and the same equipments were already under “out of order”. This is not what I expect to find in Hilton hotels. The room was mold smelling. I asked for a replacement that I immediately got
This is my fourth stay already in this property, and first one since travel resumed in April 2022. Booked two rooms, Deluxe King and King One Bedroom Suite as we traveled with family. I must say that the hotel maintained its standard well, as I felt the same as I did pre-Covid. Check in was a breeze done by Wazir (he forgot the cookies but I reminded him). Requested for an upgrade for the Deluxe room with my Honors status, but suites were full. This was a week before Hari Raya Haji. Emailed the hotels a few days prior to my stay to request for an extra rollaway bed, but did not receive a response. Thankfully there was still an extra bed available. Breakfast was incredible as always. Rooms were clean and Careline team on the phone is prompt with requests. I especially love the text message that the Careline team sent me, to ask if everything was okay with my room. I was only annoyed at checkout, due to the discrepancy with the room rate shown in the bill. Found the total bill was larger than what I expected. Emailed the team and managed to sort it out. The adjacent mall is pretty much dead. There is one 7-Eleven behind on the ground floor which was convenient. Concierge on ground floor was also helpful to assist with our luggage.…
The hotel is new, the rooms was spacious and clean. The staffs were courteous. The breakfast spread was also good - unless you have your favourite breakfast place, i suggest to take up the breakfast offer. A little quite and the mall is not opened (possibly due to the pandemic) but a short drive to town. It was June peak weekend so price was steep for a Malaysian hotel… hence deducted one star.
Finally when the borders re-opened, Melaka was always one of the must travel-to destinations for good food and weekend pasar malam styled festivities at Jonker Street. We choose to return to this property despite the availability of a number of properties, including boutique ones such as Rosa Malacca and it certainly did not disappoint. Unlike our experience in JB with a Singapore branded property. We stayed in the King One Bedroom Suite and a connecting Twin Guest Room High Floor. Suffice to say, the Kind One Bedroom Suite quickly became the favoured room of my kids too. The suite is extremely spacious, and the view from the room, especially the bathroom, is simply gorgeous. You can take a look at the photos which I have uploaded and try to envision it. But nothing beats experiencing it yourself. The service teams always have a smile on their faces and you can feel that they are genuinely very happy to see guests at the property, and to be of service. Kudos to Ms Carey Osborne, GM of the property, and her team for the wonderful job in keeping the standards of DoubleTree by Hilton properties. I also had the honour of being assisted by Ms Osborne personally at the Front Office. Of course at that time, I have no idea who she was. Great property and one that should be your choice should you want a restful getaway in Melaka. And preferably self-driving too as the property is located slightly away from the city centre. But that's the added charm of the property.…
Got cookies as usual, room was a big, nice view in night ,poolll awesome, food breakfast also variety,a lot changing, with fresh juice counter, donut so delicious, keep it up chef sue, during peak hour still can threat us like family even I ask her to taking the fork n spoon, serve us fresh juice at table, thank you chef, tq also FO team Ms ana ,not sure the name, for sure will come back
Being grounded like everyone on the earth for the better part of the last 2.5 years - We were ready to get back to it and the DT Hilton Melaka would be our 1st port of call. Like reuniting with an old friend after a long hiatus, this property was a few years older but in very good shape. Right off the bat, I am pleased to report that all the best parts remain. Doling out generous generous servings of warm cookies, the spacious rooms and that AMAZING BREAKFAST! Imho, the best breakfast of any Hilton property in the world! Kudos to the warm hospitality of the breakfast team, always eager to help with a smile, no matter how busy the dining hall gets. And oh, did I mention how fantastic the breakfast spread is? : ) Every thing from the local rendang to the ubiquitous breakfast sausage, was sumptuous and of quality. Croissants were consistently butter crispy and the donuts, what can i say? Have you every had a pretty hotel breakfast doughnut that actually tasted edible? Theirs looks pretty and tasted yummy like the ones we pay good money for at the donut shoppe. 2 Thumbs up to the breakfast team at the DT Hilton Melaka! A few negatives to point out; 1) Our corner deluxe room had a persistent musky smell that never went away. 2) I got a Junior Suite room HHonor Gold upgrade on the 3rd night only after I pushed for it. 3) That really nice gym is no longer 24 hrs, for now. 4) The adjoining mega-mall had completely closed down! Back to to the positives. I had long lamented the omission of a business lounge here. However, on this trip, I had taken up the complimentary tea-time drink & horderves set offered at the Axis lounge and was pleasantly surprised the space offered was quiet and conducive like a business lounge when work took priority. All in all a great venue in Melaka to make memories and we look forward to the next time!…
Despite a difficult few years, the hotel is still providing the same high standards that I experienced when it first opened a few years ago, and the biscuit given upon check-in is delicious. Took a King Deluxe room and the size of the room is generous while the large rain-shower and bath tub enclosure luxurious. The room is clean and elegant and the housekeeping staff would first place a handwritten greeting on the bedside table. The TV is also of good size and the TV pictures are HD quality, even for the Singapore programmes (Channels 5, 8, U & CNA). However, the dinner buffet now runs only from Fri to Sun and the Elements Mall the hotel is sitting on is virtually empty. Still, it’s a very comfortable hotel that is extremely good value.
Upgrade benefits: No upgrade for Gold member, receptionist said no upgrade because it is full but clearly when I checked online for immediate booking, there are rooms available Cleanliness: Does not appear to be clean, carpet is very dusty Swimming pool: The pool is chaotic, so many people wearing clothing (cotton long pants, cotton t shirt, cotton short pants, tudung) in the pool and no one bothered. There is even a couple soaking their legs in the swimming pool or washing their legs in the pool, who knows. It is so unhygienic. It is already bad if you don't shower before going in the pool, but you are wearing your dirty clothes, with sweat and dirt in the pool. It appears there is no staff in the pool, even if there is I guess they won't be bothered. Breakfast: There is great variety, compared to other hotels. However there is no butter in individual boxes. There is only margarine in a big bowl. It is the first hotel I encounter where they do not provide butter in individual boxes. At first I was impressed they have fresh orange juice (which usually provided in only luxury hotels) BUT upon drinking it I realised they ADD WATER/ DILUTE the fresh fruit juices, so it actually taste like water. I suggestion is, might as well don't provide it if you want to safe cost Service: No separate queue for Hilton Honours member, although there is a sign for HH member. So need to wait quite a while for check in and check out. Actually I have stayed in this hotel in 2019, and the conditioned has deteriorated significantly compared to 2019, not well maintained. Some rooms (I booked 3 rooms this time round) are dated and can see black patches at toilet.…
Like most doubletree hotels, we were greeted with the warm delicious cookies. We were here during the long holiday weekend so the hotel was pretty packed. I had a low floor corner room which allowed us to have some sea view (better than none!), but our sea view was partly blocked by another residential building opposite. The room had a bathtub and shower combo which we enjoyed a lot after a long day outside in the heat. we had no noise issues during a peak period so I guess the rooms are pretty well designed for insulating noise. We sure were well rested despite the crowd. Given my Hilton diamond status, we were able to enjoy some simple afternoon tea and drinks at the lobby cafe (sadly no executive lounge was available). The food was unremarkable and pretty similar to the breakfast food ( more on that next). So if you have some status don’t expect the usual high floor views, tea and evening canapés at most Hilton properties. A highlight for us was the international breakfast. The international spread was amazing and there was so much to choose from! It was also so delicious. This makes us want to come back again if we ever return to this historic town.…
