This is excellent value for money. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom - the room was very small but really clean and very charming. The family who run it were so helpful, making sure we knew where to eat and how to get to town. The breakfast was very good - included a different local food everyday. We loved it!
Apa Kaba is an absolute gem. We loved staying here and only wish we could have stayed longer. It's the most genuine homestay we've experienced in our travels and we loved the way staying here gave us a wonderful glimpse into multicultural Malaysia home life. The room was a good size, with good quiet aircon and ensuite bathroom with a decent hot shower. We absolutely loved staying here. It was a real highlight of Melaka for us. Definitely recommended.
After travelling for almost six months I was wondering whether proper cleanliness could be combined with affordability. Kenny, the owner of Apa Kaba shows it can be done. We paid 40 (85 with a/c) Ringgit which was a bargain considering the dedication, courteous and warm welcome of this lovely space just five minutes away from all the main sites in Melaka.

The two main rooms had attached bathrooms , were very comfortable and for RM 80-99 per room , it was a bargain. The third room didnt have an attached bath room but the toiled and shower was just outside. For those who like the old style bath using the small pail, there is the traditional bathroom which my hubby used because he still like the cold water drenching. The owner says they provide sarongs for an added rustic…
