This is the place to stay if: 1. You want to live in an authentic local house (third generation owners). 2. You want to meet local people - the owners are charming and always helpful. 3. You want to meet people like yourself, except some are much more adventurous than you, for sure. You can save money here, but that isn't the real reason to stay. From Apa Kaba, you can walk to all of the major venues in Melaka. It also is close to two shopping centers, in case you need anything. Most importantly, it is NOT a hotel. I didn't give this five stars because you will have basic creature comforts here. Keep in mind, it is not a hotel. But it gets four stars for the experience.

This is an absolute gem of a place. Close enough to the historic town and commercial district, yet nestled in a residential area so it's quiet and peaceful. Been here for a month now as needed a rest place on a very long overland journey around the world. Both my husband and I feel completely at home. Gorgeous family, lovely, lovely gardens, ideal working space and comfortable rooms. You must book ahead!! Especially if coming over the weekend. i see a lot of disappointed people who arrive without a booking, and it;s sad to see. Just email Kenny - he's super fast in replying and helpful as can be. If you;re coming with your own vehicle know that there is plenty of space to safely park. There are cats, bunnies, turkeys & even a monitor lizard who crossed the whole garden the other

Warm, caring and helpful hosts. Basic accomodation but comfortable. The fan and air-con worked well. Wifi in room and in outside areas was good. Very relaxing stay with basic breakfast included and indoor and outdoor lounging areas. Located very conveniently to access a nearby mall and all of the sights of Melaka on foot.
