I had a lovely time exploring this fabled city thanks to Liu Men. It's a gorgeously renovated, peranakan place nestled in the bossom of the old town. You can almost roll out of bed and straight onto a pineapple tart bake house, it felt that close. The bed was heavenly and with service to match. The L'occitane shower products were also just the thing to wipe away the dust of this 600 year old city. And the smart TV was appreciated. The only issue with being so close to the action means you're also close to the noise. Loud becak drivers hoon up and down until midnight, blaring Malay ballads on high pitch, which is slightly annoying, and the acoustics are such that you hear a lot of what's happening in the corridors around you. Ask for a room facing away from the street if you're a light sleeper. But it's a small price to pay for quality and comfort in a town that was once the centre of the world. Liu Men was not only aesthetically pleasing, but the service provided by the employees was top notch as well. No wander the hotel is so high recommended. We were greeted at the car park by Encik Wan who also wiped down our bags for us. Upon check-in, Adelyn brought us our welcome drinks, led us to our room and offered a short briefing to the amenities available. They even had complimentary snacks and turn down service during my visit where cookies were served! The room was clean and very well designed, spacious with minimalIstic furnishing. Breakfast the next morning was pleasant, they had a wide variety of local dishes, beverages and snacks to choose from. I had the Nasi lemak (7/10: kangkung was soggy, chicken was a little dry), my bf had some cereal and English breakfast (8/10) and we shared a huge bread basket. The dining area was clean and comfortable, restaurant staff named Zulhafiz was attentive and friendly. Would definitely visit again for another staycation. Extremely attentive staff and impeccable service from the moment I arrived till checked out. Jonker Walk is just a stone's throw away from hotel. However, the breakfast was just mediocre and I would skip it next time. Thank you, Liu Men staffs and Mr Izhar, the GM. I will still choose to stay here next time with my husband!

You feel warmth the moment you step into the hotel. It is my second time with family here and I can’t help myself to fall in love with the hotel and wanting to come back again. We spent 3 nights this time and we did not want to leave! The staff are very well trained and courteous. They go above and beyond to make sure we have the best time in Liu Men. Mr Izhar, the hotel manager, Mr Rahmat, Hafiz and the rest of the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms we stay are spacious and very clean. We are welcomed by a bowl of fruits and handwritten welcome note by Mr Izhar. The bathroom is sparkling and the bath amenities are my favourite. I love when they turn down the room and leave different local snacks with a good night note every night. Overall, it is a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff in a great location. We will definitely come back again the next time we are in Melaka. Kudos to Mr Izhar and team!…

My second trip to this wonderful, quaint and tastefully furnished hotel. Just round the corner of busy touristic Jonker Street. Rooms were excellent. Staff well trained and Mr Edmund Pang’s service was excellent. Liu Men sealed both my trips with fond wonderful memories.
