Pro = the room was spacious (i booked 1 bedroom apartment). The receptionist, Khai was very polite and helpful.
Cons = Cleanliness and upkeep was not good. Bed sheet and pillow case got stain, walls got stain. Req for 2 more pillow and is chargeable at RM10 (they only give 2 pillow for 2 person per room). Iron and ironing board can not be send to the room. U need to go to one of the room in block A to iron ur cloth. No hair dryer provided in the room. Amenities is very minimum.

Serviceable duplex apartment style room. A rather tall winding stairway (without railings) to reach the upstairs room. A little TLC would be appreciated as observable paint chips here and there. Internet connection is strong and stable. Housekeeping left a lot to be desired, as upon checking in, discovered a used towel hanging on the bathroom door hook. Furthermore, what appears to be remains of Room Servicing dining dishware on the outside hallway floor, several doors down from my room. I saw it when I checked in, I saw it as I checked out. Nobody bothered to remove it...
Breakfast was a fine affair, a full buffet breakfast with ample Western and local choices. However, this breakfast was provided by the adjacent Ames Hotel, as I understood it the in house restaurant was undergoing renovations. So, a fortuitous stroke of serendipity for me, but your own stays may differ in the breakfast department. As previous reviews regarding the in house breakfast was mediocre. If you feel like you need the space, then you may be willing to overlook the above grievances. If not, then there are many other Melaka hotels that offer better experiences. Some of which I have reviewed previously.

MetraSquare Hotel, Not bad for a 3 star hotel. If you are looking for a cheap & comfortable place to stay, this hotel will be the best choice. The service is excellent, the breakfast is good, everything is good. There's a coffee shop downstairs if you're feeling hungry.

Extremely poor condition of room furniture and bed linen. The apartment is spacious, but that is about the only good point. The chairs are already worn out, the pillows are heavily stained. Totally disgusting. The shampoo and soap bottles in the bathroom were completely empty when checked in

The Metrasquare duplex room/unit has a lot of space. But there are few flaws in terms of service and the unit prepared. First, the bathrooms were not properly cleaned, there was clothes moths on both bathroom. Secondly, there was no room service during the stay (changing mattress etc.). Thirdly, the acoustics of the hotel was inadequate, adding carpet and more furniture (sofa, chair etc.) would help with this. Lastly, breakfast experience at AMES was average due to repetitive menus and bland tastes on some of the food.

Value for money! If you are planning to a short getaway, this hotel is highly recommended because they do have duplex (2 bedroom type) and come with a small pantry, living hall and others. On top of it, they do have some other restaurants at this building, such as old town, asam house and some others are coming soon (Q Bisto).
It's also convenience to the town area (Jonker street), approx 20 mins drive. However, I will suggest the hotel to improve on their services (housekeeping side) & security part.
Definitely will stay at this hotel again for upcoming celebration or other events.

The room very spacious & friendly staff during booking & check in. Hotel is safe & follow the covid SOP. Very convenience for those travel from Klang valley , only 5 minutes driving from exit toll Ayer Keroh. I will definitely come back again!

Despite the apartments being a lil run down, the rest of the hotel opposite the apartments were kept and maintained well. Food was surprisingly good. But my honest take is the staffs are very helpful and very prompt. They have efficiently helped me to locate a missing item and promptly handled it switfly without much fuss. Very appreciative of the good service by the ground staffs and reception. Well done.
