Simple, tidy, very comfortable. Took three rooms two grand deluxe family and one deluxe family. Paid rm 130 per nite for deluxe and rm 270 pernite for grand deluxe family. Rooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with fridge and hair dryer with private bathroom. Location is superb as it is located at the entrance of jonker night market and the hotel has private parking at the back of hotel.

Located in the heart of Jonker Street, and has easy access to all the shops and Cafes along the Jonker Walk. Average boutique hotel, I preferred to stay in a hotel that represents culture and heritage and is in the heart of Jonker Street. Easier for me to walk and explore the nook and corner that I missed before. I stayed in Premier Deluxe Double Room and the room is so spacious and comfortable. What the hotel needs to improve is the room amenities, bathroom needs a further upgrade. The room is with a king size bed, however to improve with a fluffy comforter and the two pillows need to be changed. Other than that, I am happy with the room. The staff at the reception are very courteous and helpful.
For those travelers who want to be in the heart of Jonker and experience the heritage galore and reasonable price, I would recommend this hotel.

Ask a room on the top floor as the wooden floors make that you hear every step of the people above you, which we did and the next nights were fine.
Also, on the weekend, better to avoid the rooms on the street side.
Apart from that, great service, friendly, comfortable rooms, top location and classic atmosphere.
Apart from the noise issue, common in these old houses, very good address.

After reading the reviews of this hotel, my wife and I decided to try it out, and we decided to go for a nicer bigger room - the Grand Deluxe room. What drew us to try this hotel was that reviews have said that it was clean and quiet, and the room we chose had a bathtub. However, our experience was not exactly the same as others.

After we checked into the hotel, the first thing we saw was that all their white linens were stained. Stained pillow cases, stained bed sheets, stained towels. We told the front desk about it and left the room. Thankfully, when we got back at night, they changed all the linen and they were alright. It amazed me that the housekeeping would put such stained linen (see pictures), and the quality control is in question. This is the first hotel in all my years that I have seen such badly stained linen.

Another area that some reviewers talked about was that it was quiet. However, the room we had faced the road and stage in Jonker, and we could hear vehicles drive by. On Friday to Sunday nights, Jonker street comes alive, and we could hear all the sounds from below. There was karaoke singing going on at the stage area, and on Friday night, it stopped at about 10pm, and on Saturday night, it stopped at about 11pm.

The room also had maintenance issues. The ceiling fan speed could not be adjusted, the bathtub was stained (and there was a stained layer at the bottom of the bathtub), the bathroom walls were cracked (the wallpapered areas in the bedroom room area most probably covered the cracks), the shower sliding door would not slide properly, the toilet flush buttons were green with corrosion, the towel rack looks like it was falling off the wall, and the hooks that once was at the back of the bathroom door were gone, leaving two holes there. You can see them in the pictures. These were just some of the issues with the room.

That said, the staff were friendly and they did try to do service recovery. They also had staff to help carry your luggage to the room and back down as there are no lifts in the hotel, so be prepared to climb stairs during your stay. The hotel is also located right at the stage end of Jonker street, and you can find lots to eat around there, and to discover that area in the morning is interesting.

I stayed 18 June 2022, Saturday for 1 night in a Deluxe Room of 22m size for MYR297. Hotel location is at the end of Jonker Street, furthest from red building/Hard Rock restaurant. Free parking is provided behind hotel. We need to open the gate ourself because no staff is there.

Arrived about 2.30pm but nobody is at front desk. So i went in to the courtyard, a staff saw me but ignored me because she was eating durian there. No acknowledgement and she did not say anything to me. I had to wait about 5 minute before she come to front desk to attend to me with check-in procedure.

When I made the booking, I requested for front street view. My room 103 was a side street view of car park entrance. A bit dissappointed but I understand that guest request is not guaranteed. Inside my room I can hear outside playing loud music at night.

Bed is hard. Shampoo and shower gel is surprisingly not full. It is slight above half full. There is bath tub and shower stall. Water pressure is very low. They provide paper slipper. My friends staying opposite budget Fomec Hotel provide a quality cotton slipper.

I am unable to find the switch for the lamp above bed. I decided to remove key card in order to switch off all lights. Too bad that means no aircond as well. Unable to sleep well as it was warm.

Overall experience is not as good as expected.

Pros- excellent customer service and awesome location. It’s right at the doorstep of Jonker Street thoroughfare! Almost everything - food, street shopping, historical sites are within walking distance. There’s a night market right in front on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays Yet there’s a secure car park behind. That suited us perfectly. The rooms & bathrooms are clean . There’s a rain shower and bathtub in bathroom. Rooms are clean with clean & comfortable linens. High ceiling rooms. The reception hall and little courtyard was airy & cooling. As we were there from Sunday to Monday , we were allowed late checkout :)
Cons- stairs & steps. As this is a renovated boutique hotel in an old shophouse building, the stairs were narrow & no lifts. For those with no mobility issues, it’s perfectly okay. Staff were ready & helpful with luggages. In the rooms we stayed, there are steps either at room door entrance & bathroom entrance . It’s okay . Just be mindful.

I m so amazed by the service Jonker Boutique Hotel given to me.
I m working in Singapore and 2 of my friends will be staying in the hotel on 6 March till 8 March 2020.
We would like to give our friend a birthday surprise on 7 March 2020 on her actual birthday.

I called and check with the hotel is there anyways to help us to pick the cake up and make it a little surprise for us as we are in Singapore.

This is a poorly maintained hotel and with a very misleading "boutique" name. Far from those standards at all! The bedroom was very depressing with no light and the bathroom was dirty. no elevator, narrow staircase and poor maintenance in general. We ended up leaving it after a few hours and moved to a much better property in the same central neighborhood in Melaka, which is what initially attracted my attention to this hotel. I would strongly caution staying here unless you really have no other choice.

We checked in, went to our room (climbing a dirty narrow flight of stairs), only to find in the stained, dingy hallway a massive pile of filthy sheets blocking our doorway. We climbed past it to enter our room - and remained there for 5 seconds! It STANK of cigarettes - as does the hotel, despite the mo smoking signs everywhere.

Hotel refunded our stay without question. But avoid this disgusting place. It is run down, dirty, smelly & foul. I am furious having driven for hours to get to Malacca. At least we should be able to find somewhere else to stay.

The room we stayed in had 2 double beds. Sleeping 4 people would be quite "cozy" but if you kids and the adults are willing to share the 2 double beds it could work. The room was large, the bathroom was also large and closes off from the room. I do not know if the staff can provide an extra bed.

Yes Rosalind is right, it's not suitable for elderly people and wheelchair definitely not. The toilet have a shower inside the bath tub and unfortunately the bath tub is too high for elderly to access safely. Should get a hotel that have a shower on it's own. There's no lift and steps are steep
