I had this place booked through booking.com and received an email from them during the day to say they only keep the booking till 6pm and then will sell it on. Well my bus didn't get in till after 6.30pm so not really good enough, especially when there check in time is to a lot later than that. No wifi. The guy on reception was helpful and friendly. I'm really glad I didn't end up staying.

Small room, looked like a cell, no window, dirty, only fan, was so hot no sleep at all, bugs, shower down the hall cramped, water cold or boiling hot, light coming in through hole in wall. Depressive. Girl reception unfriendly. I booked 2 nights, stayed 1. Gave me another room for second night at LB hotel extra 10 rm. LB was ok.

I think the only nice thing of this hostel is the location... It's near to any attractions area in Malaka and located in main Street but the room is too small unless you have the third floor the room is spacious, the bathroom is really small too.. But the uncle is nice...

For the price of a private double room, it's pretty hard to beat. We stayed in a nice room with good airconditioning. The owner was nice and let me play with the little rabbit they have. Rooms are clean and shared bathroom was clean. Location was very good

The room isn't that great but was nice and cool which was good! The bedding had a cigarette hole in it and after check out the woman went to clean room and change sheets, when I went back upstairs to use the toilet I walked past and saw the bed was made but sheets were the same and made me think maybe they didn't change it before aswel. Not great!

Unless you're back packing around Asia and don't mind the most budget of budget accommodation then this isn't for you. It was more expensive than another hostel we stayed in by the river in Melaka and was really not as good. The service was slow, the bedrooms dirty and the facilities mostly broken. The showers are literally on top of the toilets and we only found one that worked (dribbled out hot water). The location makes it MUCH noisier than other local hostels and our room was right next to one where the owner stayed talking loudly on his Walkie Talkie, smoking and spitting all night. In fact all the rooms stank of cigarette smoke. Not recommended.

The young boys who work at this hostel treat the place more like a squat than a place of work. They sit around smoking, watching TV or napping, and treat guests as an inconvenience. They speak no English. "Reception" is in another hotel on the opposite side of the block, we had to go here every day to get our breakfast coupons, which was served in a third location on another street. Very inconvenient. The room was plain and small and contained only a lumpy bed and a broken chair. It was clean. The shared bathrooms were clean, however, every morning we woke to find the toilets unflushed and the seats covered in urine. As we were the only people staying we figured it was the night guard who was lacking in toilet training. This wasn't a one off, it happened every morning of our three night stay. We informed the manager of the problems and she was very concerned. New, toilet trained, English speaking staff would solve these problems.

The owner was really friendly but other staff weren't so much, the room was ok, windowless but cleanish. They claimed that they offered free tea and coffee, breakfast, book exchange and none of these were actually available. Don't promise something if you're not going to do it!

The reception staff is very friendly and humorous. The other staff is friendly and easygoing as well. In spite of staying there only one night, their advice made me feel wonderful and helpful! I wish I'll be there soon!

Under new management the place is undergoing refurbishment, hence only very good and not excellent, but besides that the view is to kill for, i open my window and staring right back at me is the amazing " Menara Taming sari" what can only be describe to all that hast seen it before is a massively tall flag pole that has skewered a huge donut, which then travels vertically up and down and rotates 360 degrees, giving you a breathtaking view of the entire city. The hostel is only a short distance from "Jonker street" with all its quaint buildings and shops, but if you are too lazy there is an open market all weekend just 15 steps away and the "Makota Parade" with its excellent "Food court" and shops. The Hostel itself has 'Sit down" conveniences, which was a relief (:-)) to me as there were enough sights outside for us to have an adventure with. They have hot and cold showers and drinking water and cooking facilities available throughout the day, and if you are really lucky and contribute towards the cost you can pitch in and join them for dinner. All in all, great value for money and a right comfortable stay.
