The hotel location is a 10-minute walk from Mahkota Medical Centre or Melaka Christ Church.
There are shopping malls, inexpensive eateries and convenience store within a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
You can get inexpensive beer to this shopping mall.
But there are no bars nearby.
The route from the Dutch Square to the hotel is bright even at midnight, so it's safe to walk from the bar.
Caution!
I booked through agoda.
It is stated that all rooms have a refrigerator, but it is incorrect.
I spoke with the staff and got my room changed.

Cheap lovely hotel with clean and tastefully designed interiors. Rooms were spacious enough and comfortable. Its located relatively near to the shopping centers and there is a 'pasar malam' which opens nearby the hotel at night on weekends. Lots of eateries nearby as well (within walking distance). Staffs were not very friendly though. There was no 'good afternoon' or a smile when we checked in. Everyone was so cold - something the management should work on. Apart from that, I think it is a worthwhile place to stay :)

The hotel is in very good location, just only 10 mins walk to the center and sightseeing places. Its location is Excellent!!! The room condition is suitable with the price offered. Room is clean but still got some smoking smell inside, even there is a small banner placed in room said "Non Smoking", but i could feel a little bit of smoking smell. Room does not protect noise at all. I could hear Chinese people next to my room talking very clearly.

The staff provides service just like the price of the hotel, CHEAP!. Not really welcoming. Making unfriendly face. I asked for wake up call early morning on my departure date, I did not received any call. Luckily that I and my boyfriend set alarm clock in our phone just in case. Otherwise we could have missed the bus and the flight.

I chose this hotel because of the location , close to where i want to see, and near to Mahkota Medical Center where I could take the bus back to KLIA2 conveniently.

For those who is looking for a budget hotel in a very good location, Venus Hotel is not that bad for your consideration. But do not expect much in term of services. The room is just fine to stay for a couple of days

Although the personnel were friendly, the hotel didn’t represent the comment I read.
The room was very tiny, the shower very slippery, the bed uncomfortable
When I arrived they charged me taxes that I have already paid.
I left 5 days earlier.
No refrigerator if you have medicine.

This is by far the worst hotel I have booked and I am a frequent traveler. Checked into a stuffy small room and that's only the beginning of our horrible nightmare. The floor needs some overdue cleaning and as it is sticky all around. Bed sheet is dirty and there is also a stench in the tiny room. Turning on the water at the sink only to realise there is leaking, leaving the bathroom floor wet. I wanted a refund but was told I cannot do so because I stayed more than half an hour in the room so they tried to give me another room. This second room was far worse than the initial. The odor from the second we walked in was unbearable. That was the last piece. We decided there and then enough was enough and walked out although knowing we are not getting our money back. Calling itself a boutique hotel is giving it's customers a very biased impression. I have stayed here some years back and I don't remember it was this bad. Hotel needs a serious overhaul to stay in business with the ever growing number of new hotels in town. Strictly won't recommend this place.

I checked in a room today, out for dinner and came back with a shock that my room door is opened. My belongings were ransacked all over the place. When checked with concierge, all they could help is advise me to report to the nearest police station.

Stayed for two nights. Fast check-in, staff warned that stains/damages to bed linen etc will result in the forfeit of the RM50 deposit. So we were extra cautious not to cause any stain etc. We were ok with everything until the checkout.

When we were checking out, the housekeeping staff informed the receptionist that there was a pink stain on the bed, and said they will not give us our deposit back. When we disputed this, they said that we can return to the room to check; we saw a fresh wet pink stain appeared on the bed linen. The housekeeping staff could not understand english and using malay, insisted that this was caused by us and when we argued, she told us to speak to the receptionist. My husband told her in malay not to use such methods to cheat hotel guests.

When we went back down to the receptionist, without saying anything, she handed me the RM50 deposit immediately. But we were still furious, there is definitely an integrity issue with the hotel (just like another review who mentioned that their bags were opened), and i hope that others who still choose to stay in this hotel, will be vigilant and not meet with a similar situation we had! Do check your beds/towels etc. before checking out! (Maybe even take some photos).

Positives:
- Walking distance to Dataran Palawan and Jonker Street
- Sufficient car parking lots
- Strong wifi
- Modern design

Negatives:
- Insufficient toiletries (4 adults and 1 child stayed in a family room but only 1 roll of toilet paper, very small tubes of shampoo/body form was given per day)
- No mineral water
- Water is not hot enough for showering
- No views
- Dishonest staff who stained the bed after we left the room to checkout, to cheat us of our deposit (details above)

All I wonder is,why did the hotel is ranked 22nd,they definitely deserve to be in top ranking!!! All I can say about this hotel is MARVELOUS! A big kuddos for their management team especially Nana who helped me alot during my stay, really appreciated! I celebrate my anniversary here and made a early planning and inform their team. To my surprise, they decorate my room in such a superb way with colorful balloons, wordings, romantic decoration and petals of roses and it's free!! All I paid was rm150 for a standard room but I was upgraded for their deluxe room with awesome LED lighting, beautiful decoration and wonderful morning breakfast!! It's a must must must place to stay and highly recommend this hotel for your special nights, you'll never regret! the location was the best with just 2 min walking to the malls and 5 min to jonker. Thank you so much Venus for the wonderful night, you guys make my anniversary memorable! A BIG KUDOS!!

For a night stay, this boutique hotel is what we needed. Though the reception was not as funky as in some hotels we have been too, still the checking in was ok for a small hotel housed in a row of 5-storey shophouses and offered a very reasonable rate. These are our notes for your reference:

Likes
1. 5-minute walk to 2 great malls: Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan. Can do plenty of shopping
2. Easy walking distance to the Melaka Heritage sites and the famed Jonker Walk enclave.
3. Free coffee/tea-making facility.
4. Filtered water dispenser outside our room and the water tasted great.
5. Room was just nice, and enough to move around and to keep our bags.
6. Free car parking area opposite the hotel: shaded area under a flyover!
7. Clean with windows but our room overlooks the back of another building. Still, not fussy about it.
8. Free wifi throughout the hotel.
9. 32" TV with local, HBO, AEC channels. The remote was not working well and we could not adjust the brightness but it's ok.

Dislikes
1. This is the first time in our experience if staying in hotels that the 3-pin AC outlet, light dimmer and light switches are built into a bed head exactly behind our heads. This is a bit strange and can pose a potential hazard to hotel guests. Worse, the light switch is half dangling out of its position. Shocking!

2. Smiles. Smiles. Smiles, and offered sincerely to all hotel guests should be the most basic and natural practice of every front office staff in the hospitality industry. Venus can perhaps bring its staff to the next level in this area. The 2 housekeeping staff we met however were to be commended as they made our day.

Overall, we are happy with our short stay here and would not mind returning to the hotel. For a boutique hotel, Venus is about 6 out of 10,

Dear travelparty, Thank you for choosing Venus Boutique Hotel as your host for your recent visit to Melaka. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the location of our hotel which is within close proximity of shopping malls and places of interest and also you find our room pricing is reasonable. Your sincere compliments on our service and cleanliness provided will be a huge motivation for our crew. Yes, you are absolutely right that the control switches on the headboard is strange, and we will solve this problem with our carpenter. We will put more SMILING face on my front office staff. For your information, recently we took some new trainee for another hotel branch. They do not have hospitality background, but we will make sure they will be well trained in another 1 or 2 months. Thank you for your patients and understanding, and we are looking forward to welcome you and your family in the future! Thank you! : )

Solutions: 1. Taxi will cost around Rm10 -Rm20 depending on the traffic 2. Grab will cost cheaper If you are coming to Melaka from KLIA, you may select a bus to Mahkota Medical Center, which you can just walk to our hotel from there.
