The Hatten Hotel Melaka boasts spacious suites and a prime location that many travelers find convenient for shopping and sightseeing. While some guests have praised the affordability and comfort of the rooms, others have expressed concerns over maintenance and cleanliness. The hotel's atmosphere is generally appreciated for its comfy rooms and views, though the worn furnishings have not gone unnoticed.
Service experiences vary, with reports of attentive staff alongside slower check-ins. Amenities are a point of contention due to overcrowding and upkeep issues, despite the hotel's mixed reviews on overall value.

Detailed Reviews
My family of 8 finds this hotel reasonable price for its location as its surrounded by 3 malls and has its own bus berth. 8 of us stayed in the premier deluxe room. it comes with a fantastic view of the floating mosque in the distance.
The facilities in the room wasn't up to par in my opinion. there were several flaws that put a dent on our stay.
The fridge in my room wasn't cold at all, the complimentary drinks weren't palatable. probably be a good idea for them to check on the coolant or just buy new fridges. The pillows were flat and not fluffy enough for a 4 star establishment
Air con temperature was another concern, 3 out of the 4 rooms i book for my family wasn't cooling enough for them, especially when we spend a whole day out exploring Jonker, it would be fabulous to enter a nice cooling room.
One of my relatives found red stain on her pillow case, the problem was quickly resolve when we contacted the front desk, within minutes someone came in to the room to rectify the issue.
Despite having some issues with the hardware, the service in this hotel is exemplary. Staff were courteous and kind. whenever we issues in the room, they immediately some staff over to rectify the issue in the best possible way. Just that some issues can’t be resolve immediately like the aircon and the fridge.
Staff at the lobby were helpful even late into the night, helping my grandma and opening the doors for us.The hotel is also within walking distance to Jonker and several historical sites.
The alto sky lounge is worth a visit for the panoramic view of the malacca strait. My mom and I had a enjoyable experience at their in house spa. Although it might be slightly pricer as compare to outside. I think it worth it given it’s convenience and ambience.
Exemplary service and strategic
location, in this case doesn't make up for the lack of proper working hardware in the room
The lift issue seems like an ongoing problem at this Hotel, which i can kinda forgive. given that it will take a lot more time an effort to resolve such an issue. But the hotel has fail to invest in the little details in the room such as better air conditioning; decent fridges; better towels and etc. Given the price point and the volume of visitors, it should somehow invest in the hardware of the room more frequently. It feels like it haven't change a thing since my last visit 2 years ago.

I spent two nights in the Hatten Hotel, which is very well located in Melaka, being in easy walking distance of many of the major sights, including the river and Jonker Street. The hotel itself is quite large, with good sized rooms which were clean with good facilities, if perhaps showing some signs of age. Facilities and equipment included tea/coffee making facilities, a small fridge, a room safe and an iron and ironing board. My room was actually a small studio, so came with an additional chaise langue and flat screen television. There is an excellent roof top swimming pool on the 12th floor, as well as a gym and spa (with very reasonable prices).
The staff were very polite, respectful and helpful, and couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was included in the room price and was the usual buffet style and good. I also had a meal at the main restaurant, but you can get light bites and cocktails on the 22nd floor in the alto sky lounge with its panoramic views of the city as well.
All in all a very pleasant stay and I would be very happy to stay there again.

I stayed here for 2 nights, driving here from Singapore. I used my touch-and-go card at the carpark, and hence was not entitled to the complimentary parking on the first day.
Arrived at 10pm, and check in was relatively quick. Lifts took forever to come, particularly during check out hours and breakfast timing. Rooms were spacious and all were "suites" with two tvs (not sure why). Bed was comfortable and airconditioning okay. Wifi was weak. Basically, the rooms in Hatten Hotel are owned by individual owners and Hatten Hotel leases these rooms from the owners and sublet it out to hotel stayers. This is the same for Hilton double tree and many other hotel chains in Malaysia. Rooms looked quite dated although it was supposedly completed only in 2013, shows the amount of effort the property manager puts into maintenance.
Breakfast variety was pretty ample although queue start to form early and they have to use their ball room to cater for the huge number of guests staying in the hotel. A good point about this hotel is its fantastic location, near to the major attractions and connected to a large shopping mall.
Probably not a place i will stay again in Malacca, as there are newer and better maintained places (albeit not as centrally located) to stay in at around the same price per night.

This hotel location is good. Easy to go to tourist attraction and to look for good food. However, in terms of touches that a hotel should have, all lacking and the management need to look into the hospitality aspect of their staff. Starts from housekeeping, they did not provide a complete set of toiletries, i.e. missing shower cap and body shampoo, and floor mat. They took away the key card i place at the power source slot without telling me. I asked for room away from lift, they place me exactly close to lift when their occupancy rate is only 30% on weekday.
I email to ask if swimming pool is available to use, the reservation manager respond with a cut and paste respond that says he will prioritise my request and special request is based on priority, which is irrelevant to my inquiry. I am just looking for a yes and no respond, but yet, hotel failed to respond.
Social distancing sign board is just for show and tick the box to show SOP is followed on paper, but in actual, totally no control. Crowded guest waiting in front of lift without queuing and many people went into the lift without hotel staff to do crowd control. Very disappointed with they way the hotel practicing covid SOP, took it too lightly.

We had a very nice room on the 18th floor. It was comfortable and wifi was very strong. Breakfast was the usual buffet catering to Chinese, Malay, Indian and even "Western" tastes. On the 22nd floor, there is a bar, and a Fine Dining restaurant. If you are a hotel guest they give you a 20% discount on what you buy. There is a trio to provide excellent music, but unfortunately they play in the dining room which was empty our first night, and only had 1 couple dining (away from the band). The silly rules are that to dance in the dining room, a man must wear shoes, and slacks. However, weekends the band moves in to the bar.

This was a second time I stayed at Hatten actually and too my surprise the services were quite poor compare to my first visit. The housekeeping took almost 30 minutes to find a plastic chair and deliver an extra towel to our room. The housekeeper only tidy up our bed and leave the rest un-touch (usually they will tidy up the desk, vacuum the floor, clean the bathroom). The jetshower was leaking and the water flooded a bit near the closet. I asked to be cleaned up but the flooded water was still there when we came back.
Fortunately the others services were quite OK. Breakfast was good and the speed of the receptionist was OK.
Location wise was perfect for us that need to visit Mahkota hospital.

Hard to find fault with this hotel. This is my 4th time staying at this hotel and every single time, I left with a very satisfying feel which makes me want to come back again. Breakfast spread was awesome, you would never be short of choices. Room was excellent, clean & comfortable as well for my 3 nights stay. Thank you for giving me the upgrade to premier floor on the 20th floor. Check in and out was hassle free and smooth, attended by Surdewi (an Indian lady, might catch her name wrongly) & Syahmi during check-in while Badma attended me upon my checking out. All mentioned were very courteous and polite while attending to me. Special mention to the staffs at restaurant too during breakfast for always on their toes in doing their best especially the two guys at egg station on thursday morning (didn't catch their name but one is something like Nuz--) whom were so friendly and had a short chat with almost everyone at the egg station and also Md Suffian whom always prompt in clearing our plates/cups. I think I've seen Suffian during my earlier stays few years back so if it is the same person, well done Hatten for keeping awesome staff like him! As for the down part, nothing major to be honest except for the lifts which is still a headache due to the waiting time which was pretty slow. Nevertheless, I'll be back for sure for future stays!

I reached the hotel around 3.40pm on 22/08/20. There were long queues in all counters and no proper arrangement on the queue which resulted I waited until 5.45pm for my turn which wasted a solid 2 hours of my time. This is my first ever and longest queue in my life in a so called 5 star rated hotel.
Upon checking into the room, I noticed there no towel for shower in bathroom. I asked housekeeping and was told the whole hotel is awaiting for laundry supplier to deliver towel around 7pm to 8pm and they can only supply 2 pieces each room.
Breakfast is very basic and could't ask for extra as it is controlled by chef due to SOP and they will tell you leave for other guests.
I won't recommend this hotel and is certainly a no, no, for my future trip.

Pros: location is great, connected to several malls. Inside the hotel it's not so great. We had asked for takeaway breakfast for the following morning upon check-in as we had to leave the hotel at 6am, before their breakfast buffet starts at 6.30am. Counter says OK, next day at 6am, turns out the request was never sent so we had NO breakfast - and we were preparing for a 10h hike that day. When we complained, the front desk pushed a feedback form to us and said they couldn't do anything. The rooms are spacious but the lighting and decor is dark and towels are frayed although u could tell they were once luxurious. The bedsheets looked like they had been washed but there were stains that couldn't be removed. There was quite a good spread at breakfast but the crockery looked dirty (cups and bowls had stains). They need to step up on cleanliness. I don't recommend the hotel.

The hotel is located in the busy shopping area in Melaka. The rooms are huge, and comes with two double beds plus a sofa and can easily accommodate a small family. Breakfast is excellent with a good spread. At S$75 a night inclusive of breakfast,it is a very good deal not to be missed. The hotel is 20 mins walk to Junker walk, or take a GRAB if you don't feel like shopping. There are 2 big shopping malls which are linked to the hotel.

I'm not sure but during my stayed at this hotel, i walked over to the Jonker Street and it's 1km from the hotel (+-15 minutes). Use the Google Maps to guide you. It's a great hotel to stay because it's in the city center and it's convenient to move around. There's lots of restaurants in the surrounding areas and there's 2 shopping malls besides this hotel.
Hi Leen.. Trully.. Most agree with Kenny. It can be done. Most hotel which had room service meal will ok with it. Just contact front desk for assurance
