Hotel Puri Melaka is a boutique hotel in the heart of the old city of Malacca. The hotel is a carefully restored Peranakan house which once belonged to the descendants of an eminent philanthropist and rubber plantation owner, Tan Kim Seng. Extending 100 metres long, its distinct characteristics are its beautiful and intricately decorated façade & the impressive length of the house. Retaining its old charm, Hotel Puri Melaka provides modern amenities to its hotel guests. Our rooms are a tasteful combination of old designs and contemporary touches. Dining options in our Galeri Cafe includes a range of local and international favourites. Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel. Situated within the grounds of the hotel is Puri Spa. We invite you to take a time out, unwind and be pampered in our peaceful environment with tropical water garden, quaint surroundings and inviting private facilities.

Hotel Puri is recommended for those looking for a value-for-money stay in Melaka. It is very conveniently located in the heart of the old town - next to Jonker street and a short walk away from the river and Stadthuys/Christ Church.
Rooms are very clean. The management is very efficient and they serve an excellent breakfast in their garden restaurant.
The only point to note (especially for those with limited mobility) is that the rooms are at different levels and for some rooms you will have to negotiate a short flight of stairs.

We stayed at Puri for a few nights when visiting Malacca. The building is beautiful, especially the foyer and reception. The location of the hotel is great, with easy access to the main sights of Malacca, like the Jonker night market, the Dutch Square, etc, but is far enough away from the noise and bustle. On the day we left, we managed to get a later check out time, which is much appreciated.
The room we had was simple and functional though the place where the hangers were located was in a corner of the room, which was a little awkward. There were no mosquito screens attached to the windows, so there is no choice of letting natural air in as opposed to using the aircon. There wasn’t much storage room. We didn’t want to use the quilt as it was too hot, but there was no space to put it, and the extra pillows, other than on the table!
The room Wi-Fi was OK, but there seemed to be poor reception in the area for our mobile data, which was odd.
Rooms were made up daily, though the sheets were not changed. Unfortunately, the shower gel and shampoo are in little bottles, and bottled water is provided, rather than having these in dispensers/ a water cooler, which isn’t great for the environment. The shower gel wasn’t replenished all the time, so had to be requested on one occasion. Service staff were very quick to respond to the request. Half-used toilet paper rolls seem to be replaced with new ones each day, which is unnecessary – unsure what happens to the half-used rolls??
The breakfast at Puri wasn’t bad and there was a selection of cooked food and kuehs. The dining area was beautiful, with cosy lighting. There was a cooking station for eggs/ omelettes and other hot noodle dishes/ congee. Once, we were expected to make up our own noodle dish, though on another days, the cook did it.
There was a note on the breakfast voucher to notify staff that it was included as part of your stay to avoid being charged. On our first morning, we were asked for our room number 3x but no one asked to see the voucher! The staff at breakfast did seem a bit overworked, stressed and frazzled.
Overall, Puri was a good base for us to explore the sights of Malacca but there is room for improvement.

Hotel transportation: convenient location, in the scenic area of Jonker Street, you can walk to the scenic area in a few minutes. There is a Nyonya restaurant with good taste and service diagonally opposite the door.
Hotel environment:
Ancient Malaysian style decoration, rich courtyard plants and flowers, beautiful scenery, and a room introducing local history and items. The small courtyard of the breakfast restaurant is very comfortable, I like it.
Hotel service:
The service is very good. Due to the flight delay, the pick-up car waited for us for a long time. Ms. Lorna who received us and the pick-up staff were very patient and responsible and followed up. Because there were elderly people accompanying us, they took the initiative to upgrade our family room to 2 rooms, and turned on the air conditioner in advance. The room was very cool. There was a power card in the room, so there was no need to worry about the air conditioner turning off when going out. The room was odorless, dry and clean, provided sufficient water and paper, and complete bathing supplies. The hair dryer was slightly weak.
I had a very pleasant stay for a few days this time and would recommend friends to stay.

Generally v happy… great location, venue and price BUT.. we requested a taxi when we booked/ said sorted/ even reminded them when we arrived but crappy local taxi arrived for journey to bus station when we had a 4 hr drive to catch a ferry- took an hour to sort a suitable vehicle and they wanted to charge loads more than Agreed rate..had to get smaller crappier taxi and still pay more than we initially agreed and we missed our ferry and had to charter special boat- not impressed! either really stupid or it’s a scam- so double check your inwards taxi !

This Malacca Puri Hotel recommended by a local friend is great👍. It is located on the first small road entering Jonker Street, in a quiet place in the bustling city. The facade is not big but there is a different world after entering. The decoration is very distinctive, a mix of Chinese, European and retro styles. The room with wooden floor is not big but very clean, the hot water for shower is also very good, and the sound insulation is slightly worse but it is not a big problem. The breakfast is also good, with both Malaysian and Western styles. If you want to eat fried eggs that are a little older, that's no problem. The waiter's attitude is very good, and the overall accommodation experience is very good. We will choose this hotel next time we come, and we also recommend it to friends who are going to Malacca for tourism. The waiter can speak Chinese and English, which is great!

The Puri Hotel is a seaside resort located on the east coast of India, with a long history and antique style. The architectural design of the Puri Hotel combines Indian and colonial elements, showcasing the culture and tradition of Puri. The Hotel Puri is the perfect place to stay when visiting Melaka. We stayed here on a previous visit to Melaka and were just as impressed then as we are now. The hotel has a great sense of history and there is lots of information available about its previous incarnation.
Our room, a Superior King, was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. We even had a little balcony with a view of a beautiful garden below.
The buffet breakfast was served in a garden setting and was of a high standard.
The staff are extremely friendly and friendly.

We stayed for 3 nights in The Puri, which is in such a central position enabling us to walk to most places. The hotel is full of interesting artefacts and the courtyard is a green and shady spot to have a drink. Our room was at the back, it was clean and functional although dark. Breakfast was OK, but did lack selection. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
For the price I would say this is a very good choice.

We're just about to have our last night here, arriving yesterday morning at 4am, after our flight arrived at KL around 1am. (Taxi was 270RM)
We love this place, its decor and history, rooms to read in, the outside courtyard to relax in.
All the staff were very polite, courteous and knowledgeable. Our room had a safe and a fridge, and a large wet room style shower.
The bed was huge for us but if I had to be critical of anything it would be the bed's hardness. Don't get me wrong, I slept fine but we have a quite soft bed at home. (I suspect this may be a theme in my reviews)
Final word is that within its budget category and given its location to Jonker Street and the riverside walk I think you'll find this hotel hard to beat.

Breakfast is included in the hotel rate. If your child is a 3rd occupant on a paid basis, then he/she should be entitled to breakfast. If not, just inform the reception when you check-in and usually they are very accommodating and would not mind to let your child have breakfast for free. Nice buffet spread of western and local food.
Yes the hotel is easy to find in a good location. Everywhere is walkable. It has a good buffet style breakfast.
NO problems with the beds.
Actually there is parking a few shop houses away. But do not worry if these are filled as they have more parking lots further down the street (actually at the end of the street). If I heard (never have to park there) them correctly it is in a school compound.
