This was our second time we stay here. The staff and owner very polite and friendly. We love this lovely, historical, comfortable guest house in a safe, peace and quiet place near to Jonker street. Plenty of eatery around here and Sunday morning flea market at the Jonker Walk area is one of my favorite place.

After awhile of travelling, you find that chain hotels, whilst comfortable and provide a guaranteed level of service, tend to be rather cold & clinical. So whilst travelling around, I keep a look out for boutique hotels, and this is a gem that I stumbled across with my pal. The proprietor, Lian is a lovely owner who hails from the neighbouring state of Johor. She runs the place with her husband (who is unfortunately partially paralysed from stroke), and a daytime janitor. Do not expect a porter to help you carry your luggage, so travel light if you stay here, and bring it up the stairs yourself. The premises and rooms are generally clean, but are tend to be simple and basic. You're provided an ensuite toilet, which has very basic industrial toiletries (so do bring or buy your

Stayed in Wayfarer for a couple of days. Good choice because it is centrally located, about 5 mins walk from Jonker St. So convenient when I had to come back for a quick rest from a hot day of walking around the city. Rooms are big, clean and well-maintained. As this is a family-run hotel, common areas have that cozy, comfy vibe. The owners are so kind and helpful, and I enjoyed chatting with them about life in the city. They offer free coffee and tea, which you enjoy in the common areas with a nice view of the river and the church of St Francis. Will definitely recommend to others and stay here again.

This is a small family-run guesthouse with a very hospitable owner and lots of rustic charm. I stayed in two different rooms - both facing the river - and they were lovely. Not a great many modern touches - such as TV etc - but full of character, with lovely wooden floors, carved Chinese sliding doors and kettle with coffee/tea. The balcony was an especially good feature - just sit out there at night and watch the tourist boats going up and down, witness the vibrant night scene and just generally people watch. The shower's water pressure was good, and the room itself was clean and comfortable. The common area downstairs has seating at the rear where you can catch the river breeze and have tea/coffee and read. There's also a rather friendly cat. The owner/host - Madam Lian

Love the spacious room and lounge area. Have to be ready for some noises as the building is old building that keep the feature of old houses, the floor of first floor is made of wood! But this was how I grew up! Ideal location as can walk to town in short distance. Enjoyable outside and inside guest house
