Stayed one night at the Kahaani. This used to The the state governor’s official Home (?). There are 6 huge rooms, there’s a large living room cum lounge and a cool cool back patio with a pool. The staff’s friendly and helpful. The room comes with a simple breakfast of eggs , cooked the way you like, pastries , fruits, juice and unlimited coffee and tea. This hotel is ideal for events such as weddings and big big private parties. Lots of character.

We checked into the Kahaani on a Monday night, the 20th November with very warm reception from Mr Zainudin, the hotel manager and Cik Maz the concierge. We were given welcome drinks and warm wet towels at the beautiful reception room after which we were promptly showed to our room, the Customary Luxury Suite. The room was huge with a separate dressi ng area and separate toilet with shower and jacuzzi. We were in awe with the hotel and the room's ample space which has an old colonial era charm. Point to note there is no telephone in the room and guests are only provided with mineral water in the room. We realized that we were the only guests in the villa and the only other person after midnight is the security personel stationed near the main gate. Wifi signal was fairly good and we were served nasi lemak set and some pastries for breakfast. It was a one night stay but overall we were happy with the hotel and it's staff. They even showed us around the villa and the Premier Luxury Suite in the ground floor which was impressive. If you are looking to stay in a hotel with an old world charm in Melaka, come to the Kahaani.

I had reserved 5/6 rooms for a family event over the weekend. I would say the beauty of the place is greatly overshadowed by the unprofessionalism of the rhr management and staff. I could write an essay of all the problems but rather just highlight a single problem that would make any future guest reconsider their stay if safety is important. So hear we go, on the second day my father suffered a STROKE in the hotel as a result the kahaani management. Lets just say they chose the worst possible time to bring up hidden charges. The appalling part was how they reacted, not a single staff was to be found during the incident and none of them prepared for an emergency. Even cold water was a chore for an ailing elderly person who is in the middle of a stroke. The staff literally said "we only have warm bottled water haha". I had to manage my father through all the steps and distance without even a whisper from the staff "do you need any help?". The best part is after the ordeal ended the staff finally came over and asked "how is everything, ur dad fainted ah?" till today not a single hotel management staff has apologized for the incident and has has instead chosen to avoid direct contact. Anyone in their right mind would have sued and claimed for damages, but i am just thankful my father is recovering. My advice to other guests is if you are planning an event with your family always prioritize safety. Choose an accommodation that shares this sentiment. And the kahaani is not it. Check out the pines hotel or even ramada melacca. I highly recommend them.

i've been there last year for our honeymoon trip. The customer service was very good. The manager (Malay man) was very polite. Act we booked for deluxe room but once the manager notice that we came for our honeymoon trip, he gave us de very expensive room but for 1 night. But we pay only for the deluxe room. Once we back from Kahaani, we always recommend to our friend to stay there. Wish can go there next time and management can give us more discount. 😉😉😉
