There are 2 good things about this hotel:
1. Location
2. Shower head

Other comments:
1. Noisy - can hear trishaw with loud music at night, and next door loud stomping when they are walking in the room
2. The room qualifies more like a chalet than a hotel room

Awesome river view especially during night time. Nice room with connecting room.
Near city centre, hard rock cafe, taming sari & some shopping mall. But limited parking space with 1st come 1st serve.

I am writting this review currently seated at the hotel's lobby. Arrived at 2.05pm and was told that check in is only at 3pm. Don't understand whyhave to be so rigid. No flexibility at all. Saw hotel cleaning staff entered a FEW rooms which are all empty but yet they make guests sit at the lobby instead of having the room. Only pro is hotel is close to lots of attractions. Just once is enough for me.

Staff were super friendly and accommodating which is really good. Location is the best as it is right beside the river and near the jonker street. Room is superb as seen on the pictures. View is just amazing outside the room especially at night.

I stayed at this hotel over one of the weekends during August 2015 with a group of friends.

PROs
1. LOCATION
The hotel is located 5 mins walk away from Hard Rock Cafe and the famous San Shu Gong departmental store on Jonker Street.

It is located 3 mins away from the famous waterwheel and Melaka Red Church.

Excellent for partying and hanging out till 1-2 am in the morning ( at Hard Rock) which my group did every night
and
for picking up loads of Melaka Local delicacies and goodies from San Shu Gong, which is an air-conditioned departmental store and also famous for the Durian Chendol.
After picking up a few Kilos of local goodies, we could conveniently walk back to our rooms
and offload them
and then continue with our planned activities for the rest of the day.

2. FRIENDLY STAFF
The counter staff on duty were always cheerful and happy to see us. :)

3. CLEAN ROOMS
They clean up the rooms at about 9 in the morning.

My room was made up to international hotel standards every morning and the bathroom did not stink.

4. ITEMS PROVIDED
(A) Tea and coffee set with 2 cups, stirrers and 1 hot water kettle
(B) 1 body lotion, shampoo and moisturizer
(C) Iron and Ironing Board
(D) TV with cable movie channels (free)
(E) Aircon with remote
(F) 1 mini fridge
(G) clothes hangers

CONS
1. 3 STAR HOTEL
This is really a 3 star hotel, so if you are the high class traveller who requires the use of a gym, Olympic swimming pool.... Etc, then you would be better off paying 3 times the price for Casa Del Rio which is located at the same spot just across the Melaka river.

For a non-fussy traveller like myself, this is the perfect hotel for me!

2. BATHROOM FLOODING
Due to a lack of shower curtains, the entire bathroom is flooded after taking a shower.

The shower head is the overhead ceiling type which is 4-5 star standard though .

3. ITEMS NOT PROVIDED
(A) slippers
(B) toothbrush and toothpaste

Booked a premium room on hotels.com for 3 ADULTS. To our surprise we were greeted with a twin sized bed!!! How in the world do they expect 3 adults to fit into a queen sized bed really baffles me. Next when we enquired with the front desk they pushed the blame to the booking website saying it stated a queen bed. But come on looking at the form it puts twin queen beds for 3 adults. Next 2 bottle of complimentary bottle. That's alright because we stocked up on water on or way there but 2 bath towels how do you want us 3 adults to share 2 bath towel?! When asked they said that that was their management instruction. This would be the last time I'm bringing my parents to that hotel great location but bad service. This is on top of dirty sheets. And badly renovated rooms. Not sound proof at all I can hear my neighbors leave and enter their room. Horrible really atrocious.

Booked this hotel by online weeks before our holiday. We have requested the river view facing rooms and to our surprise when we checked in, the receptionist was telling us that no request was made on the room with the view instead we were given the rooms with awful view of next door roof which was really really ugly! the staffs were not friendly at all! if you are driving, parking is a pain because the hotel only provide 10 free parking spots!! by all means, unless if you really wants to stay in the hotel next to the river, please avoid this hotel!!!

Superb place with affordable rate. The building actually a warehouse at riverside turn to a nice hotel. You will be amaze on how the building has been renovated with a huge candle type chandelier as the main deco. If you want a nice room, choose for level 1 room with balcony, so you can relax and enjoy the river view. The room is nice clean and tidy. Bathroom clean and got hot shower. Breakfast also provided with the room package.
This hotel near to the attractions place- Stardust, the red building, the ship, souvenir market, Datatran Pahlawan, river cruise, Taming Sari Tower, Jonket Walk. Lot of food place to be discovered. Literally, it is located at the heart of Malacca.

Only 1 problem with hotel, car parking is limited

This is my first time to Melaka. Found this hotel to be one of hotel in good location. An it's yes! it is located in very good location. If you don't bring a car , you can take Bus No.17 from Melaka Sentral and the bus stop right in front of the hotel. The room is adequate, good facility for its class, with modern minimalist design. I feel good during my stay, and if I comeback to Melaka I will stay in this hotel again.

There are parking space by the side of the hotel. But you have to park at your own risk. The town council will issue summon if you do not have a parking coupon. The hotel do not provide. You have to buy from them at RM 1.00 per hour. The actual price is 0.60 cents per hour. They have 10 parking bays opposite (which is quite a distance from the hotel )but you also have to pay RM 10.00 for a bay.

Where is the ideal place to park my car?
Answer from Moon_hmz
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia34 contributions14 helpful votes
They have a limited number of lots available for the hotel guests outside the hotel, but you should book them first as there are only a few. Alternatively you could park in the public parking lot across the street, next to the police station.
