We spent 2 nights with our friends in this guesthouse. Rooms was really simple but clean, you can make your own breakfast and all personnel are nice. We were really happy until we discovered that Ajit misleaded us on a van booking for cameron highland and get 300RM more than the real price.
we really appreciated him and were so disappointed by this act.

I stayed at Ajit guesthouse with my friend. We rented a double room with shared bathroom. One nice guy recommended this guesthouse at Melaka bus sentral. First we were little sceptic because the price was really good for what was included. But it was extra clean, big breakfast, nice stuff, good location. And at the end of our stay Ajit drove us to the bus station. After a few days I came ba k to Melaka alone I went right to Ajit's, unfortunately for me it was full house(good for Ajit of course:-). So I went to different guesthouse. Same price worse service. I met Ajit in the street telling him that I was dissapointed that his place was full. And he offered me a ride to the bus station because there were no buses to Melala bus station. I have never experienced that. Ajit is a man!!! Go there and you will really get what you pay for.

I paid 30 MYR/night for a single bedroom with shared bathroom. it is clean room and the price is cheap.coffee and tea is free. Nice talk with staff name kumar he is very friendly and helpful at night time i spent 2-3 hours talk with him... I would strongly advise you to not stay at this guest house. Ajit, a partner in the guest house and the manager of the guest house takes advantage of his status of a manager, to steal money from tourists. He offered to buy me and my friends bus tickets for the day we want to leave, and we were unsure whether to give him the money to buy us tickets. But he's the manager of the guest house, his name was ajit, and he was talking to all the staff, adding up for us to believe that he does work there and therefore we can trust him. Later we found out that he was in fact a partner of the business and a manager, so what we assumed was correct. However, the assumption that we can trust him was not. The night before we were supposed to leave we called him asking when he would be back with our tickets, he said he was on his way back. An hour later we called him again and his phone was off and he did not return to the guest house that night. So we scrambled to buy tickets online so we could still leave the next day as we already had a flight booked. We bought tickets for 11 am, he was supposed to get us tickets for 9am. At 8:30am we were told we had bus tickets for the 9am bus. We are unsure if they were actually real. Even if they were, telling us he got tickets for us half an hour before the bus is supposed to leave is pointless, as it would take that long to actually get to the bus station, and we would miss the bus. So I doubt they were actually real. Ajit ended up taking our money instead of buying us tickets. We later found out from the rest of the staff that he has done this before, and yet, he still works there? How are tourists supposed to feel safe at a guest house when they cannot even trust the staff there? If they deceive tourist and steal their money, then what would stop them from potentially using their extra keys to go into the locker you keep your important and expensive belongings. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We stayed here because of good reviews on trip advisor. Read really good things about the owner, and overall had good reviews. Our first morning we were on our way to the hospital because I was sick. While I was waiting outside for my friends I was approached by a man who said he was the owner of the hostel, and he recommended we buy bus tickets. At first we were very skeptical, not knowing if he even was the owner of the hostel. He told us he was going to pick up guests from the bus station, and he could get us tickets to our next destination.. For cheaper than anywhere else too. He told us it was a Muslim holiday over the next few days and tickets would be sold out.
After reading the reviews on trip advisor which said how nice he was, and how he was always at the bus stop, I believed him. He was talking to the girls at the front desk, and it was very clear that they knew eachother. We decided to give him the money, and we figured if he's the owner of the hostel (his face is on the sign), he must be legit. He even drove us to the hospital.
When we got back to the hostel @ 5:00pm (when he said he would have the tickets) he was no where to be found. Because he also sleeps at this hostel he ended up running into one of my friends. He told her that the bus station would not give him the tickets yet, but that he had purchased them for us & would have them for us the next day (the night before we were meant to leave).
By now we were extremely sketched out, and the other girls at the desk said that he has done this before.. They even have a sign (which we obviously didn't see on our way to the hospital) that says they are not responsible for any tickets sold by staff members without a receipt...
Long story short, the following day rolled around and he didn't wake up until 3pm. When he finally came out to talk to us (in his boxers) he said he would have it for us by 6pm. We called him repeatedly until 8pm, before we decided to give up. By then the bus station was closed.

VERY FRUSTRATING AND UNPROFESSIONAL.

We have flights booked out of Singapore and absolutely need to get there. We ended up booking last minute tickets for double the price, and we still have not heard from him.

I would highly not recommend this hostel because there are much better options for the same price that don't have managers that scam their OWN guests.

Price/Value is ok, but please be mindful that there is a very noisy highway just in front of the hotel. So if you are a light sleeper, then make sure you take some ear plugs.

In general very clean and the staff is pleasant.

We also had a bad experience with the guests. There was a entire family that decided that 3 at night is appropriate to take a shower and have a run around the corridors and shout a bit. The problem is that the doors are paper thin, so this added to the noise from the highway.

It is ok if you are looking for something cheap and clean. Hopefully you will have more luck with other guests.

i found out about this place after I was stopped by a guy in bus station who asked me if was looking for a place to stay. This guy, working for Ajit Guest House was kind of a friendly tout, but a very honest one at that. He showed me how ti get ti the guest house by bus, and when i arrived the guest house even refunded my RM1.50 bus fare.

The downstairs living and kitchen area is very warm and welcoming, with Japanese style wooden floors (shoes off). The dorm where I stayed is big enough to have single beds rather than bunks.(In K.L I stayed in places where dorm rooms were tiny and cramped, no such thing here.

Noticeably, the staff are always around on hand if you need any help at all, or just want to ask something. This doesn't happen in a lot of places..

Great location also, next to all of Melakka's historic sights.
