Just checked out of room 107. Overall its a decent hotel. But what pissed me off was at around 8.30-9am, the started drilling and knocking right above my room which woke me up and i was unable to get my much needed vacation sleep and a major headache from the loud drilling and knocking. Gosh One of my worst experience. Never stay in a hotel in a middle of reno (which i did not know)
I stayed here in July 2020.What was suppose to be a one night stay extended to three and then 4 days. This hotel is located right next to the entrance of the Portuguese Settlement away from the city centre. The reason I chose this place was because I wanted to avoid the traffic. There are plenty of hawkers stalls along the road. There are more cons then pros here. I would have given them 4 stars but.. Cons: It is very noisy along the corridor with staffs on walkie talkie most of the time.Difficult to rest The double rooms are very very small compared to twin rooms Poor TV reception Pros: BATH TUB..the only reason stayed here 4 nights Very comfortable beds Strategic location Polite, courteus, helpful staffs They serve the best sauna noodles. The cafe is always packed Others: It seems there is a change in management, so it isnt the same as before Pools cant be used Villas no occupancy You must check out at 11 am and if you happen to exit after 12noon,be prepared to pay 50% of the room charges Deposit is hefty, higher than the room rate at RM200…
We always stayed at Settlement hotel during our CNY visit to our parents hometown but this year was quite a letdown. We booked the bigher room as we needed space for a baby cot which the hotel provided but it was stained, dirty, covered in mold and dusty. An adult would not want to sleep on such a dirty place, what more an infant. We complained to the reception which duly dispatched their supervisor and apologized but told us its due to 'change management'. We told them to take the crib away and ordered a single mattress for our infant but 10 minutes later housekeeping just came back and told us there is no single mattress in the whole hotel as they threw it all away due 'change management'. No one follow up on the issue and left us to resolve this issue ourselves. The shower area had a drainage problem where the drainage is slower than the shower capacity hence ponding. Food was good but the servers need to improve, as they could not understand english too well. Hopefully they will be much better in the near future and not blame the issues due to the current change management stage.…
Pros: 1. Nice warm welcome by staff Juliana. She escorted me to the room and explained well. 2. I booked the deluxe queen room 6 months ago and got it at a steal of only RM111 or USD28 a night. Value for money. 3. Room is decent size with a TV on the wall (limited channels), mini fridge (Juliana said it's not cold but cool only; that's pretty apt), coffee tea making facilities, daily bottled water, ice bucket and drinking glasses (nice touch), variety of lightings, hairdryer, iron, good size wardrobe. 4. Bathroom is lovely with the big deep tub and strong water pressure. Toiletries provided, including nice bath gel which made my bubble bath enjoyable. 5. Reasonably quiet, save for little noise from other guests. 6. Located not in touristy area but not far. Few good local food steps away. 7. Free parking on site, though gated ones are limited. 8. Friendly staff. 9. Strong quiet AC. Cons: room AC not working on the 1st night which couldn't be fixed, staff took forever to give me another room. Wish the mini fridge was cooler. No swimming pool but a dip pool only. …
I love everything about this hotel. They upgrade my room without extra charge. The room very clean, neat with complete amenities. The bathroom is very nice. The beautiful pool located at the entrance of the parking with nice ambience. Highly recommended!
