it's a fairly generic hotel, no character, but really it's fine, good location on the river. Staff were nice and helpful. AC was very good, bathroom was large and clean, the rooms were clean. Does the job, just not much character to it.

Super noisy due to construction across the river. Can't sleep. Avoid river view room. Very basic hotel. Only two or three menus for breakfast (nasi lemak, toast and kew teow). TV was not working. The only advantage is strategic location e.g Jonker street, dataran Pahlawan, Melaka river cruise. All within walking distance. Fyi, we've paid rm190++ for the terrible condition of the hotel. Actually, they are sell the strategic location only.

the hotel is in front of masjid hulu, for moslem like us is very nice to get the place very near to masjid. The hotel is pernakan style, so many chinese peranakan furniture and decoration, and in the back there is river that you can take a rest there....
is quiet enough and in the end of the block theres an halal restaurant (indian restaurant) also there is cendol for dessert i the noon.
Be careful if you bring a big luggage because the lift is in upper ground and only the stairs to get there.
From melaka sentral bus I spend 9 RMY with grab.....

My family of 3 keeps returning to this hotel for the very same reason we have kept coming back. The location, the price and the staff. As usual, its location close to the famous Jonker Walk makes it convenient for us to take a leisurely evening stroll to find food and souvenirs. The location of the hotel is also walking distance to the latest mall in the city, the Shore Mall. Take a walk along the river and you'll be surprised to see the sights. The only downside is the breakfast offered. Very limited offerings. On the other hand, the Indian Muslim restaurant at the end of the hotel block offers a surprisingly tasty pratha and dhal gravy! Overall, we will keep coming back to this hotel as we find consider it our 'home' in Malacca.

Stayed at the hotel with a group of my students for a study trip. Bookings were handled very well by the sales department, especially Ms Georgina Khoo.

The rooms were comfortable . A few of the students' rooms had windows which faced walls but the students had a good laugh about it. If you're staying here, request the rooms facing the river. Some has balconies. The rooms facing the Mosque across the road would be subject to calls of prayers 5 times a day. If you don't mind the call of prayers at 5.30am that lasts for a mere 3 minutes, then the rooms are fine. On that note, the rooms facing the Mosque can be quite warm in the late afternoon as it faces the setting sun. The room I stayed had some problems with the A/C. I couldn't set the A/C control to 'Quiet' so I had to live with this huge humming sound in the room. The A/C compressor was behind a door in my room and the exhaust heat would come back into the room. The hotel need to have a look at this.

Breakfast on the mezzanine floor was very basic. Stayed for 3 days, the breakfast menu on the first day was noodles, some cold fried spring rolls and the usual toast, butter and jam. 2nd day was Nasi Lemak, some cold mini samosas and the usual. I think for the price of the room including breakfast, it was adequate.

The staff, on the other hand, were great! Very helpful, very accommodating and very friendly. Sat down with one of the staff to plan places to visit and she provided very detailed information.

WiFi connection is an issue. It's complimentary but it is not good.

Overall, if you are not going to spend your whole day in the room, this is a very good hotel in terms of location. Walking distance to the famous Jonker Walk, the beautiful Baba Nyonya Heritage Row, Hard Rock Cafe, Nyonya Cendols and the river cafes. Parking is quite limited though and if you are travelling in a group, arriving on a tour bus, be prepared to walk a bit from where you get off the bus because the road in front of the hotel is really narrow. If you're driving, there's parking for guests at the back of the hotel.

I booked two rooms here recently for my family (couple with an infant) and for a larger family (5 people) we were travelling with. Both of us were quite happy with the hotel in general.

I booked directly through the hotel as I wanted to be sure they could accommodate the larger family of two adults and three children within the hotel's family room suite. They were able to do so at no extra cost for the third single bed and the suite was great with a separate bedroom for the double bed and one for the single beds with a living space and balcony overlooking the river. The rate we paid was RM338 (which included breakfast) was quite remarkable for such a large space in such a good location.

The double room was not anywhere near as spacious and didn't have an external window at all but was still comfortable.

Both rooms had great air conditioning facilities (a must in hot Melaka) but no fridge. Bathrooms don't have a shower cubicle but i didn't find this a problem. All rooms come with free wifi.

Breakfast was very basic and minimalist with only a few Asian breakfast options, toast and coffee but was sufficient enough to get you started for the day.

The hotel was quite noisy throughout the night but I put this down to some disrespectful guests as opposed to the hotel itself.

The location is great as it's right on the river and the main attractions (Jonkers st, Pink Church, etc) are about a ten minute walk along the river and the walk is an attraction in itself with beautiful buildings and pretty bridges to see along the way.

Parking is free and ample here as well as very easy to access. This was a great feature for us as we have a very large MPV.

Staff at the hotel were quite nice and friendly. We were able to extend our checkout time by two hours with no problems at all.

Overall, I feel 906 Riverside Hotel is much better for larger groups or those willing to book a larger room for the view and space. Based on the aesthetic and ambience of the double room, I think there are nicer hotels within the same area for a similar price where I would chose to stay next time. However, I would definitely book this hotel again when I'm traveling with another larger family or with another couple wanting to share the family suite as these rooms are great value for money.

We had read a lot of previous reviews of this hotel before booking it, and they were generally positive. We stayed at 906 River Side Hotel for 3 nights. Check-in time is 3 pm but we arrived at 12 pm, so they asked us to walk around after a 27-hour trip, which was an interesting task at +31C outside. We were given a room with 2 single beds, even though our booking says one queen bed. The room was on the third floor facing the river. There was no wi-fi at all... the reception said that the wi-fi was there, just too weak for our room, so we needed to go down to the lobby. The sheets in the room had large yellow stains, we asked for fresh ones - but they were almost the same. There were large water stains on the walls, the carpet and the ceiling. The area around the air con started dripping water the next morning. The worst thing for us was the noise and light from the outside: there is a dancing and singing fountain across the river. It blasted music and a bright light way into the night. The hotel was also lit with powerful floodlights on the ground aimed at the hotel windows for some reason. It was very important for us to have a cafe on the premises, which was mentioned in previous reviews. We were told that the cafe was closed, so no tea or coffee or snacks were available. The reception was happy to lend us the hair drier and extra key for a deposit. But they mostly acted as if everything was normal and we had no reason to complain... Most of the reasons whe we chose this hotel were missing...so I am giving it 2 stars.

Yes, there is a few step before getting to the lift, the room space is quite small as well. Noise at night from dancing fountain across the river, quite far from festive, quite hard to find place for eat except using taxi. The most efficient is to stay at Aldy Hotel Stadhuys but the bathroom is small.

Better you prepare for your baby food. Even some restaurants nearby the hotels but I don't think the foods are baby friendly.
