Booked a 3 day 2 night stay to celebrate my son’s birthday. Booked connecting rooms as I was traveling with my family of 4. Rooms are of a good size although the design is dated- first stayed in this hotel in 2014 and the design remains the same so the interior does look it’s age but it’s well maintained with the usual amenities one would come to expect of holiday inn.
Hotel is located within walking distance of jonker street and the shopping center is just a 5 min walk away.
Would like to commend the staff for going out of their way to allow me to use their freezer to deposit ice packs as I had medication I needed to keep chill. Such small acts of kindness really go a long way to making the stay a pleasant and memorable one- keep it up holiday inn Melaka!

The property is located close to all the attractions of this world Heritage City. The hotel provides a shuttle service to a couple of pickup points, but these are also within walking distance. Beware though, the pedestrian crossings are not honored by the fast moving traffic.
Beds were comfortable, amenities were good. The hairdryer was great.....low noise, yet provided adequate flow volume. 2 thumbs up from my wife. FItness room was spacious, with the basic set of equipment. Steam and sauna plus a jacuzzi were available separately for men/women. There's an outdoor infinity pool, and a kid's pool.
The breakfast spread was pretty good....even had a kid's selection. International as well as local delights made the selections mouth watering. The business center, however, was inoperational. With both computers having no internet access, and the printer inaccessible, it was really a bit of a nuisance.
Other than that, it was a good stay and definitely a worthwhile experience.

We stayed 3 days 2 nights. With two young family members. Hotel staffs at lobby and Sirocco restaurant in the evenings were very helpful and pleasant. Always willing to assist and help.

Nice hotel, and good overall experience. But poor management of checkout time, and worst of all, reception staff does not respect the "do not disturb sign" hung outside guest rooms.
Holiday Inn advertised a 24/48 hour stay, so upon checking in at 10pm, we confirmed with reception our checkout time will be 10pm, 2 days later (48 hour stay as per their advertisement). Receptionist confirmed it and said it has been noted in the system under our booking details.
Lo and behold, at 3.35pm on the last day, while we were having an afternoon nap, a receptionist knocked loudly and rang the doorbell multiple times (even though the "do not disturb" sign was clearly displayed outside).
No respectable 4 or 5 star international chain hotel would disregard this sign, but apparently Holiday Inn Melaka has no respect for guest privacy with regards to this.
Woke us up from nap, and asked when will we check out. We said our checkout time is 10pm and they said "please note that there will be additional charges for this". We said "No, it is free, we booked the 48 hour stay". He apologized and went off. Ruined a perfectly good nap for us, especially since we have a long drive ahead of us tonight.
In addition to the 24/48 hour booking promise, I hope management takes this disregard of guest privacy even more seriously. In Singapore especially, no hotel staff will even consider ringing the doorbell if they see a "do not disturb" sign being displayed.

We stayed here from 28 Jul to 1 Aug 2020. It was a great short getaway. Made even more amazing by the wonderful staff. Everyone at the reception counter was very friendly. The guys and kebaya girl at the door that always welcome us back from our sightseeing. Temperature check was done without missing a beat. Reception had advised us about the room cleaning that would take 4 hours due to sanitizing. Good job on ensuring your guests' safety is a priority. We opted not to have room make up but the housekeeping staff did follow up with us just to be sure. That was very helpful. Thank you for making our much needed holiday amazing and unforgettable. Will definitely come back to stay with you if we are in Melaka!

Booked a last minute room using points to escape water issues in KL. Checked in on Saturday - overall process was quick and smooth. Got upgraded to a King suite due to loyalty program which was a nice touch. Sadly no breakfast was thrown in. Rooms are slightly dated, probably worthwhile for a refurbishment soon to continue attract customers.
Hotel is conveniently located to major tourist attractions and free shuttle van is a major plus point.
SOP followed throughout stay except in swimming pool where booking was required (by right only 20 pax at a time) but during both times we were there, there was more than 30 pax. I understand that the hotel is fully booked but just puzzled why create a rule where it is not implemented properly.
Other than that, a pleasant stay throughout.
Hotel is conveniently located to major tourist attractions and free shuttle van is a major plus point.

My husband and I stayed in Holiday Inn Melaka from 2 jan to 4 jan 2020. We were upgraded to a room on the 18th floor with Straits view, as we are both IHG platinum elite members. The room was clean, although the furnishing were slightly old. The king-sized bed is comfortable and the air conditioner was cool enough for such hot weather when we were there.
We had lounge access on the 3rd floor, and I must compliment all the staff there for the superb service and attention. We had dinner on both nights. The lounge was not very crowded on the first night, but on the second night (3rd January), there was an unexpected increase of number of guests. There were not much food by 6.30pm, but the problem was rectified about 15 minutes later. We saw someone who looks like a chef at the lounge to help to replenish the food. There were additional staff to help to make sure food first was replenished immediately, and followed by desserts. We stayed slightly longer in the lounge to enjoy the food, and the staff was so apologetic about the whole situation, We told him that that they did a good job in handling the situation. Unfortunately, we forgot to ask for their names.
We had breakfast in the restaurant on the first morning, which has a wider choices and more local food. On the second morning, we had breakfast in the lounge, which offers more privacy, and personal attention.
We used the shuttle service to Jonker Street, and the shuttle was punctual. It was really convenient as we did not have a car.
For the price we paid for the room, it was value for money. I look forward to returning to the hotel soon.

Very nice helpful and friendly staff at reception and in the Executive lounge
Big comfortable and modern rooms and suites.with clean and modern bathrooms, which include a shower and bathtub.
The Executive Lounge provides Breakfast and evening snacks. Coffee and drinks throughout the day. Also here the staff is really wonderful in making you so welcome and superbly looked after.
The hotel is at a busy road which cannot be crossed safely on foot. However the hotel provides mini bus shuttles to two points in town, which is making up for this.
A minus is the badly or not existing noise insulation of the elevators, The elevators are probably not in a closed shaft of their own and the engine noise is carried via the lower ceiling in which the a/c is installed into the rooms. We found this noise very disturbing, when the a/c was off.
The infinity pool is nice and big, but almost all sun beds had broken wheels and 3 sun umbrellas is really not enough for a big pool and a hotel of that size.
The breakfast buffet had an excellent and big choice of Asian and Western food and a cook for the fresh preparation of omelettes etc.
In summary: excellent staff, big comfortable modern rooms and a few points (pool sun loungers / umbrellas and elevator noise) to improve on.

The Executive Lounge provides Breakfast and evening snacks. Coffee and drinks throughout the day. Also here the staff is really wonderful in making you so welcome and superbly looked after.
The hotel is at a busy road which cannot be crossed safely on foot. However the hotel provides mini bus shuttles to two points in town, which is making up for this.
A minus is the badly or not existing noise insulation of the elevators, The elevators are probably not in a closed shaft of their own and the engine noise is carried via the lower ceiling in which the a/c is installed into the rooms. We found this noise very disturbing, when the a/c was off.
The infinity pool is nice and big, but almost all sun beds had broken wheels and 3 sun umbrellas is really not enough for a big pool and a hotel of that size.
The breakfast buffet had an excellent and big choice of Asian and Western food and a cook for the fresh preparation of omelettes etc.
In summary: excellent staff, big comfortable modern rooms and a few points (pool sun loungers / umbrellas and elevator noise) to improve on.

Clean rooms, plenty of parking, easy access to room from carpark and nice seaview. Many thanks to Yoon and Alia from front desk/reception as they were extremely helpful and did extra miles to make my stay comfortable and worry-free. Yoon had arranged connecting rooms with bathtub located nearest to lift for us ( we are a party of 4 consisting elderly + heavily pregnant mother + toddler) and Alia had assisted in preregistration early check in even greeted me by my name during check in and check out. Room service food is tasty. We had apple salad, salmon steak, cendol, sago, fruit platter, satay, mee goreng, hor fun, fish and chips and all of it did not disappoint at all. Will definitely be back to stay again.

Usually the club lounge is quiet n not much of traveller at the club lounge,but for this u need to call them up n ask ,but as for me i think can access it
