The room was quite big with pantry inside. The view feom the swimming pool area is magnificient, we can see the sorroundings places within the City and the ocean. The buffet breakfast was fair enough, but still need to be improved on the variety of foods presented. The room rate was fair enough.
Been here on 3rd September 2020. Stayed for 1 night only. I dont have a problem with staff as they are friendly. This is my first time with this hotel. Before this I will choose Hilton DoubleTree but on this date I choose The Straits and Suite. The named look like wow... but when it comes to room.. first time enter to my room the smell was so bad and terrible. I make a complaint and asking to change the sheets. This 2 lady came in and they were saying that this smell caused of no one has do any check in to this room or hotel during MCO. I was....erkk... this smell was not because of the room not being used ...but this smell came from the dirty sheet that has not being wash! This is my first and last with this hotel.
We stayed here for a 2 night trip to Melaka as a family of 5. Children of 6, 11 and 14 years. The interconnected room was perfectly large enough and very clean and comfortable. The walk into the centre of Melaka was an easy 10-15 minutes. There was several good restaurants and a Starbucks in easy reach of the hotel. Unfortunately breakfast was pretty terrible and I’d recommend going into the street and eating roti at Ali Zyah Fatima instead the staff were lovely in there and super priced breakfast.
I stayed in the hotel on a business trip. Good rates, new hotel, check in process was swift , and was even upgraded to the King's suite. However, it seems to be it is just a typical double room, and A KINGS SUITE is an overstatement. The first complaint as soon as I walked in there was a disgusting brown stain coming from under the toilet bowl all the way to underneath the basin area. Called housekeeping , who came swiftly . He cleaned the floor flawlessly, I thanked him and he explained it was probably a stain from something the previous visitor could have spilled on. I doubted it, but as long as it was clean. Eventually, that stinking water came leaking out consistently the whole time we stayed in that room. Later in the evening I showered and the shower area was flooded a the drainage somehow did not work (?). My foot was literally swimming in the water! called housekeeping again, this time, almost fed up, and considered to ask for a room change. The same housekeeping guy came and sorted it out. Toiletries were only a set of small bottle shampoo/conditioner, body lotion and a shower gel. Which I thought didnt make sense as it is a King;s suite and meant for 2 pax. There were no prayer mats, no iron in the room. Food at the restaurant was tasty but lack of presentation. The halls we worked at was comfortable , spacious and WIFI was pretty much good. Parking was available, shared with the Novotel but the parking attendant who changed our parking ticket to season parking card is probably foreign worker, who obviously had trouble answering my questions on how to return the access card upon checking out. A deposit of RM 30 is required if you plan to mobile in and out of the hotel during your stay. Location wise, very near to Jonker Walk, but the restaurants across the road are not advisable for Muslims. good hotel , but please, keep your toes up on the cleanliness!…
