Swift check in with good English speaking receptionist. Clear instructions given to regarding the parking ticket validation process. Ample spacious parking, since I'm driving an SUV. A very well mannered security officer helped to give direction as well. Booked a Premier Twin Room for 2 nights. Room layout is good with the bathroom stretching the entire length of the room. Pillow is flat. Could be fluffier. Although fridge is provided but there's nothing in the mini bar. Sheets are clean. TV remote buttons wasn't working and I need to get off from my bed to turn the TV off. Urghh.
The work station table is small but manageable.
Sufficient amenities provided, such as shower gel, soap, toothbrush, cotton buds...but strangely, they didn't replenish these the next day. The best feature in the room is definitely the bathtub in the shower with ceiling to floor see through glass overlooking both the city and the room.
Very rarely I put an effort to soak in bathtubs as it takes time to prepare the bath but I made an exception for this one.
Morning breakfast area is big and spacious with plenty of food choices spread over 3 different areas. The only thing that would have made this better is an egg station. Some morning confusion between hard boil egg and half boil egg placed side by side and their label has been wrongly placed.
If they improve these small errors, they could be a very desirable place to stay that people would look forward to.

We had a spacious room. The room has all the basic necessities, mini bar, hair dryer bathtub and toiletries. We booked through Encore website for the accommodation and show tickets. It was a great deal.
I love to stop by level 8, where the swimming pool and playground located (actually those are located at level 7, level 7 has the rooms that attached to swimming pool), nice view from there and it was very windy! Breakfast was simple and good, it’s just lacking of manpower to remove the used dishes from customers. We drove around the city, we could use the hotel room key to access the hotel car park, hassle free.

Cleaning below standard, housekeeping staff only changed sheets and towels. Bathroom cleaning was completely skipped. Poor maintenance. Breakfast was really terrible, serving cold food, coffee tasted bitter.

1.Poor Cleanliness and service
Bedsheets and comforters were with chili/tomato stain, then larger stain after changed to the second room, which has been checked by the hotel manager himself.
Continuous 2 rooms without the disposable slipper to customer, which is a basic item for a hotel room.

2.Poor response
In house call not entertain by front desk , house keeping, operator and etc. Need guest to personally go down to front desk to request or complain on something.

3.Breakfast not worth the price paid, limited options and low standard
Hotel provided only 1 set meal to 1 customer (local or western breakfast), the second meal need to pay. Only cereal, eggs and drinks (milk, coffee and orange juice) are free flow.

4.No temperature check control
During RMCO, no temperature check control or name capturing for all visitors in the hotel despite SOP given by government to do so.

My first stay here a few years ago was relatively good.

During a short time when Covid inter-state travel restrictions were temporarily lifted coinciding with Christmas, we decided to return and booked a Family Suite instead.

The suite was spacious with 2 separate rooms, a small sofa, kitchenette and had the same spectacular view but ...that was it.

The floors and surfaces were dusty, corners unswept for ages, walls with visible scratches, beds & pillows uncomfortable, bathrooms had minimal toiletries and not replenished the next day, unattended defects like faulty faucets & leaky pipes, a hole in the master toilet ceiling, cracked tiles, it was bad!

While we’re aware that the hospitality industry is taking a big hit during these trying times maintaining only minimal staffing, but if they are selling rooms to customers it has to be in excellent condition, clean, comfortable and value for money.

Overall disappointing, would not return nor recommend it to anyone.

Thank God for the captivating changing colours from sunset to dusk, a buffer and a saving grace.

Upon our arrival 3:50pm on Feb 18, 2020 at Pines Malacca, we expected the hotel will arrange for our Encore show, but I was told by the female attendee to wait for their confirmation as there is no entitlement to the hotel bookings. Explained and showed them the evidence to them that I had made a confirmation call to the hotel’s general line prior to my booking intact with 2 complementary tickets to Encore Malacca.
Sadly we checked in to our room and the room key is not being activated, that complied our dissatisfaction towards the hotel service. We went down from 19th floor back to the reception and the female staff did not even said sorry for the inconvenience that we faced.
After successfully checked-in to our room, we found the safe box is not functioning and we called for assistance, we were attended by a security personnel who is also the maintenance of the hotel and after he had tried few methods, the issue can’t be resolved.
10 minutes later, the duty manager, Shafinaz called me and claimed that I’m not entitle for the 2 Encore complementary tickets, which then I told her that we are having all the dissatisfaction service of the hotel and expecting the manager to quickly resolve the problem, as she saw what was happening at our room, but she told us to wait for her call to check on other room availability, which we was informed that the occupancy rate of the hotel is low during the weekdays.
Can’t wait, starving! we left for our late lunch and at 6:02pm we received call from the duty manager to check-in to the next available room in the same floor.
The next day morning I called up the manager and I was attended by the assistant manager, Begum and enquired about the Encore complementary tickets issue, only on the second day of my stay I received call from duty manager Mr Chow. Explained to him the entire problem which was yet to resolve yesterday upon our arrival.To help further with the investigation I had furnished the details of my call. He promised to get back to me soonest.
Prior to our check-out on Feb 20, 2020 I wanted to drink coffee badly, bought a take away coffee from Pine’s cafe for RM13.99, to enjoy it at my room and only found out it was half of the cup with lots of milk and it doesn’t taste like a coffee. Feel cheated! No value for the price was paid.
The next day called, Mr Chow and enquire about the investigation.He told me that they can’t retrieve the voice logger that was an evidence of my query made to Pines prior I made the booking. They also claimed there’s no staff by the name “Ranjit Kaur” as it was mentioned to me during my call to the hotel general line on Feb15, 2020 around 5:15pm

Mr Chow request me to call him for better rate on Encore ticket, in fact we should receive the rightful treatment as offered by the hotel.

Overall our experience staying in Pines Malacca was not satisfied and we only carried bad memories back home.

Dissatisfied customer,
Nirmala_joyce

Room 1609. Maintenance is the main issue. Management needs to look at the room and the bath.

Pros: -
1. Efficient check in;
2. Ample parking space;
3. Courteous front office:
4. Speedy housekeeping;
5. Excellent WiFi

Cons: -
1. Mouldy bathroom;
2. Dirty wall;
3. Mouldy bathroom sink area;
4. No hand towel and bath mat (had to request and being addressed promptly by housekeeping-within less than 10 minutes)

In hotel industry, cleanliness is crucial. Guests will repeat if they feel safe and comfortable. No compromise. I would probably not coming back and will not recommend this property (if the management is not serious about cleanliness). Time for some renovations, perhaps..

check in process is a bit late, but acceptable bcs it weekend n also public holiday. They gave me room at the highest floor which is level 28, I was amazed with the view from my room, can also enjoy the view while relaxing in bath tub with large bathroom, I enjoyed the night view so much. The bed was so nice to sleep, the room is clean with almost complete amenities. The housekeeping staff was very friendly, requested for extra blanket n they send it for free with extra pillow. Would repeat soon !!

I really love the room design, maximize the room space with no waste.
A small desk with HDMI connection to TV (bring your own HDMI cable), and a good design let you focus on your work with your laptop.
The big bathtub was really nice to fit even a large size of adult like me. The only thing is the water come out is less and you need to wait some time to make the bathtub full of hot water.
