Our family got stuck in a tiny room, we could not even put our suitcases on the floor nor access the tap. the worse thing was the alarm that kept ringing each time one of us would go out to the bathroom for instance, a real nightmare from start to end!!! The breakfast was really disappointed too, nothing of the snacks mentionnes, only industrial bread and black tea/coffee
Unfortunately, when I arrived, the staff were smoking at the front door, and I had to walk through that to get inside, and ended up smelling smoke on my clothes and in the hostel as well. The staff were friendly enough, and I was able to do my laundry while waiting for my room to be ready (I arrived before 2pm). The card access lock on our door ended up not working for my entire stay, and there were no large lockers available to store my suitcase. This was a little unnerving for security purposes, and even had a guy walk into our female only dorm in the middle of the night. There is storage under the bed for most valuables and smaller suitcases or backpacks. Each bed does have a small locker above it as well, but unfortunately, when I asked for that key, they stated it didn’t have one (someone prior must’ve lost it). Overall, this was a newer, clean, and unique hostel. It’s narrow, but quite long, and has nice open air spots between the floors. The free breakfast (toast, tea, coffee) was available all day and the free laundry was awesome! It’s too bad that there were quite a few mishaps during my stay, as I think this hostel has potential, but I can’t happily recommend this hostel due to the reasons above. …
Nomaps was my first choice for an overnight stay in Melaka. Unfortunately, we arrived at 12 midnight in the property due to some transfer delays from Singapore and reception was already closed; they operate only until 11PM. So we decided to look for a lodging house nearby and fortunately found a decent air conditioned one just to freshen up and sleep. Early morning the next day we came back to Nomaps just to check our room and take our complimentary breakfast but what a surprise that the reception allowed us to stay for another night for free as recovery for what happened last night. So we grab it and enjoy another night in Melaka. We booked a room that caters 4 pax (one large bed and one double deck); small yet already satisfying one. We have our own Comfort Room outside yet located just beside the door. Air condition functions well. Continental breakfast is being served. There is a free Self Laundry Machines. A movie room. A perfect location for Melaka's Tourist Attractions - just a walking distance.…
Stayed here for only one night and out most of the time so can't comment much about the amenities. Location was superb - walking distance to historical tourist location and jonker walk is nearby. Some crackers in the pantry came handy for midnight snack. Wifi good. The place is not soundproof though - could hear the nearby doors opening and closing, disrupting sleep. The room light (without the bunk bed lights) are a little dim. No towels provided.
The place is ok and well located. The staff are all nice and helpful. It's pretty dead though, there is a common room but it's tiny. I thought it was just a storage room till the last day. Breakfast is minimal but free so ok. We got upgraded to a private room which was nice but i think I'd have been underwhelmed if I'd have paid full price for it. The area overall is SUPER quiet during the week, loads of places are closed and then it completely changes on the weekend and is a bit mad. The hostel is quiet when it's not full but our last night was terrible because the place was packed and you could hear doors banging and knocking and people stomping around all night. Even with my earplugs in it was still really loud and the bed vibrated when people walked past the room.
