5 Heeren is a Peranakan Museum Residence located on Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, Melaka, one of Melaka's finest and most intact heritage streets which is in the very heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has recently opened its doors in December 2016 after seven years of refurbishment, and the fine work of conservation and restoration will be evident once you step into 5 Heeren. 5 Heeren is a literal 1 minute walk away from the popular Jonker Street, and just a few minutes walk from all the major icons such as The Stadhuys, Malacca River, The Peranakan Museum, etc. This Peranakan Museum Residence (adults only) has 10 guest suites, and uniquely features dressing areas, bathrooms, and private balconies (our river facing suites) as well as a number of personal touches. Aiming to provide a 'home away from home' atmosphere, 5 Heeren is your haven from the city's bustle, and it uniquely captures & celebrates the spirit of this UNESCO World Heritage City and its unique Peranakan culture.

Room is sparkling clean and water from the shower has good pressure and is hot. Breakfast spread is fantastic serving nonya dishes. One person in our group is ill and the hotel prepared dim sum specially for him. Very thoughtful gesture which makes us feel homely. For traveler sensitive to street light and sound, I recommend you prepare ear plug and eye mask as hotel is just in front of side road where a lot of cartoon charactered trishaw blasting loud music passes by

My husband and I have indelible memories of our recent 3N/4D stay at 5Heeren Peranakan Museum Hotel. The pretty family owned boutique hotel exudes the charm, peacefulness and calmness that is unique only because they have put in so much love, care and dedication both to build this place of accommodation in the hope of making it a home away from home for each visitor. We stayed in the Grand Boulevard suite which has a balcony overlooking the Malacca River which offers capitulating views and world famous river cruises. We were so touched by their sincerity and effort to prepare each breakfast an unforgettable experience with an unbeatable buffet spread of local specialties from all kinds homemade Nyonya kueh to organic fruits, chicken rice balls, laksa, Bak Zhang and even the famous handmade Nadeje Mille Crepe cake! Everyday we woke up to an unforgettable ‘Taste of Malacca’ experience! Not forgetting to mention that the owner/host and her family were very personable, super friendly and helpful. Their loyal staff were always around to offer assistance. The hotel is safe, clean and private. The house is filled with endless collection of Peranakan artifacts and relics for your viewing pleasure. Also, the location of the hotel is just perfect, the Old Town Stadthuys, Malacca River, Jonker Street, etc. are just minutes away. We are already planning our next vacation @5Heeren! The Peranakan Museum theme is like travelling back in time. Decoration is tastefully done. The entire place is clean and no musky smell like some big hotels. The breakfast is tasteful especially the kuehs and laksa. Authentic Nonya. The hosts attend to our requests personally. Very patient to explain and guide me to the private carpark and hotel.

Once you step through the door at 5 Heeren you are transported back in time. Breakfast is included in the room rate prepared to give guests a taste of Nyonya home cooking with lots of delectable treats. We highly recommend staying at this family run hotel. They are so very hospitable, friendly and attentive.

A very authentic stay experience Peranakan style. The whole premise is indeed like a museum with full of beautiful artefacts and we had a wonderful time staying here. Breakfast was excellent and done Peranakan style as well. It’s a family business and the young couple running the hotel (together with their mum) were very warm and friendly.

I had a great stay at this hotel. It’s in a good location, rooms are clean and quiet, and everyone on the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast they provide is also a standout. They clearly put a lot of thought and care into the service they provide.

The location is spot on - walking distance to all major attractions. You wouldn't need a car but if you have one, they can provide a reserved spot for you. Accommodation itself is absolutely stunning. Exactly as how the pics advertised. Clean, comfy and unique - on top of everything else, the breakfast showcasing local cuisine was definitely the highlight! A true experience of peranakan culture in this historical town. Hosts are super friendly. Make sure you have time to explore the accommodation and have a chat with the hosts - it's not your regular bnb so don't just stay in your room!

This is the only place I would want to stay in Melaka again. The accommodation is amazing and the location is the best. Easy access to all the tourist locations you want to visit- all walking distance. The room was comfortable and had everything you could ask for. Breakfast was amazing ! Really amazing.. Staff were helpful and really nice all the time! I will recommend to many who are travelling to Melaka. I almost booked a chain hotel - but so glad I didn’t.. I will be back !

This family owned & run establishment was the perfect place to stay in hisorical Melaka. From booking to check-out, everyone was keen to make our stay enjoyable. It's the perfect location to explore old Melaka on foot & we liked that there is off street parking. Breakfast was exceptional, with delicious local fare, including Nyonya kuih, which was difficult to resist. Our only complaint was there was too much food! Painstakingly restored to it's original glory, the building is a living museum, with an abundance of beautiful & interesting antiques & curios to admire.
