5 Heeren is a Peranakan Museum Residence located on Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, Melaka, one of Melaka's finest and most intact heritage streets which is in the very heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has recently opened its doors in December 2016 after seven years of refurbishment, and the fine work of conservation and restoration will be evident once you step into 5 Heeren. 5 Heeren is a literal 1 minute walk away from the popular Jonker Street, and just a few minutes walk from all the major icons such as The Stadhuys, Malacca River, The Peranakan Museum, etc. This Peranakan Museum Residence (adults only) has 10 guest suites, and uniquely features dressing areas, bathrooms, and private balconies (our river facing suites) as well as a number of personal touches. Aiming to provide a 'home away from home' atmosphere, 5 Heeren is your haven from the city's bustle, and it uniquely captures & celebrates the spirit of this UNESCO World Heritage City and its unique Peranakan culture.

I had a week between business meetings in Kuala Lumpur. 5 Heeren was a wonderful way to escape the city and relax. I stayed in a suite with balcony overlooking Melaka River. Interesting furnishings and very clean. Excellent Malaysian breakfast fed me all day. Helpful staff. Good internet and I even got some work done. Great experience.

Outstanding. Highly recommend. We had the room with a view over the river with a huge terrace. Best view you could get in the old city. The hotel is unique run by its owner who greets you and offers a huge amount of useful information. The reception is full of old antiques and even the building itself is fascinating ( took 7 years to renovate). The staff were so helpful finding us and booking some fab restaurants for the evening ( only breakfast here). I can’t recommend this wonderful place enough.

My husband and I were on a trip in malaysia and stayed at the 5 Heeren hotel for 1 night. The house is an old parokan mansion full of antiques and traditional tools and the place is spotless. The lady owner and her staff Made our stay unforgettable by giving us the best room, a suite with unique view on the canal, and a typical malysian breakfast which was very tasty and had a large variety of choices. Try their the if you go as it is special. When we left they even gave us some local handmade cakes for our next journey.

You have to experience this beautiful boutique hotel to understand how special it is. Kamilla Tan has put years into restoring this historic building. A gracious host, she wants all her guests to experience authentic Peranakan hospitality.....and we sure did. We were fortunate to have the large room on the second floor with our own large private terrace overlooking the river. We were treated like royalty and served typical Nyonya breakfasts- Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rendang, Curry Puffs & and an array of coconut desserts— no need for lunch. Kamilla, her daughter and son-in-law and her staff are caring and considerate and we highly recommend 5 Heeren !!!

This is such a gem of a place. The entire experience is just perfect. Service is very warm and personal, one is really taken care of; people are passionate of their hotel. They even opened the speciality tea shop especially for us. Location is best possible. Rooms are clean and well equipped, bathrooms are modern. A highlight was certainly the breakfast, a 2 hour sequence of food specialities from Mallaca. The most delicious start into a day. Can't think of a better place for a trip to Mallaca.

The house is amazing - it’s like staying inside a museum. The location is fantastic and central but quiet at night. The lovely people who work here were so kind, and looked after me - bringing me so many dishes to try at breakfast, all of which were delicious. Very grateful for this experience.

Dear Camilla Thank you for a wonderful stay and outstanding service at your residence. Especially, thank you for organising the pineapple tarts for my daughter which they said was the best by far. The Peranakan breakfast spread was amazing for my family to experience the sample fare of every dish. Even for me, there were delicacies I’ve never tried. We very much appreciate your very kind thoughts towards the whole experience, right from day one when Chester approached us lost looking visitors. All the best and I hope you’ll continue to prosper in every way. We’ve shared photos and views with our friends and hope they’ll choose to stay at your home. And thank you to your daughter too for her interested observation in her guests. Everything had a nice touch.

A beautifully renovated and restored piece of art. A 300 year old mansion that houses a boutique hotel. You can see that the owner has put her heart and soul into restoring this beauty, and every piece of furniture and aretefact is gracefully placed where it belongs . Even the plants are rotated and tended to by her. Chester and his team complete the nuances and take care of guests with genuine warmth. The breakfast was homely yet grand. The tastiest peranakan spread during our stay. It was more a brunch with a never-ending array of sumptuous dishes. They had gone to great pains to prepare most dishes in the veggie version for me. Location is amazing and bang in the middle of old town with all sights and Jonker street within a stones throw. Glad I stayed here and just not a place to miss for that authentic Peranakan feel.
