The price of this motel was good and that was important to us, as we were on a two month road-trip through the USA and budget mattered. It was quite a way out of town (who would have imagined the Monroeville was as big as it was!!) It was like many other 'cookie cutter' hotels that we had stayed in:...

I stayed here on business. I usually judge places by if they have the doors on the outside, or are internally doored. Meaning a lobby and central hallways. I prefer that type because with the other, anyone can come knock on your door, which has happened to me. The room looked newly remodeled. No bad smells or anything. This is...

An old fashioned motel which badly requires a face lift. Our welcome was warm and because we requested a quiet room at the back of the complex, away from the busy road, we were upgraded to a suite. The accommodation was a reasonable size and clean, though the dated AC was noisy. The bath towels were small, about the size...

Really, you can't beat the price. With a military discount, $64 for a new room, totally remodeled. There's nothing in the center of town, so you're forced to stay about two miles away where there are a couple of other motels and fast food restaurants. Highly recommend the Mockingbird. Friendly staff, nice breakfast bar in the morning. If you have...

What a quaint yet beautiful hotel with great customer service. My single room had the most comfortable pillows and mattress (no backaches here) FREE WiFi, FREE Microwave, FREE Frig, FREE Fitness Facility, the tub actually shined, carpet and walls looked new, no dingy odors, HUGE TV that swiveled, parking lot well lighted and security cameras in all public areas. Various...

Our first clue should have been the Terminex man / truck parked outside this hotel. We got to Monroeville late in the afternoon (not many hotel choices) and chose this hotel based on the name (tie-in with the book), plus the fact that it 'looked okay' from the outside. Big mistake. We should have asked to see the room. There...

During our recent stay we decided that it would be a one time visit. Checking in required us to wait on the clerk to come to the desk about a 15 minute wait and checking out was the same despite it being different people at the desk. The room was spacious and reasonably priced but had a terrible perfume smell....

Very basic, and nothing to complain about that the staff didn't attend to. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. I thought we would have a sleepless night on the traffic side of the hotel, but not so. Check the noise of the AC, first. Nothing fancy like I really like, but a good couple of nights in Monroeville.

Monroeville is a small, charming town in Alabama with the warmest, most welcoming residents you can imagine, but due to its size does not offer a wide selection of hotels and motels. The Mockingbird Inn & Suites is a former Days Inn with a local owner who seems to take some pride in his property and employees. My wife and...

This was a nice hotel. I switched from the Best Western (adjacent parking lot ... same owner ... see previous post.) The room was large, the a/c worked well -- There was a large flat screen TV. Very pleasant decor...a large Victorian style couch. A small, but pleasant lobby area. There was a fridge/microwave and also a ceiling fan. The...
