After reading the reviews on here I was worried about our time in mana lagoon due to the stories of food, bed bugs and money.. oh how I was wrong. To start with, you need to understand that it is very basic. The electricity runs from 5pm-7am, there are set times for meals, the water doesn't always work to shower...

It's the cheapest place to stay. It is not good. Beds are totally uncomfortable, bathrooms dirty, the food is not enough.. Anyway you could get use to that. However, the worst part is the staff. They are at all times trying to get your money. It's seams that because you are a tourist you are rich and stupid. I do...

I had the best time at Mana Lagoon Backpackers. The locals put a lot of effort to making you feel at home. The island is beautiful and there is always something to do. They organize free activities and also trips to other island. I am already planning on going back. Vinaka to all the people there!

I highly recommend this hostel! Although It is very basic (electricity between 6pm-6am, not much running water) it has a great atmosphere. It felt as though we were part of a family during our stay and the Fijians working there were very friendly. It immersed us into their culture and showed us how their people lived and what traditions they...

I want to say first I am a backpacker since a long while, I have been in SEA for 8 month and I never been treated like they did... we paid 60$ fijian each a night in a dorm (27€, 23£, 28$ US). - No running water for hours (no shower, no toilets, no hand washing). - Rude staff (they...

I shudder looking back at this place and it makes my blood boil that they are still allowed to take guests. Pleasee do NOT stay here. It is absolutely disgusting, I just do not know how they can class it as accommodation. It needs closing down and demolished! Then removed along with the rest of the rubbish which has been...

As described in the other reviews, Mana lagoon's accommodation is very basic. But it's absolutely worth going! The staff doesn't just treat you like paying guests, you will be treated as a good friend. They offer many (free of charge) things to do if you're traveling on a budget. And small trips to cloud9, snorkeling, Tom Hanks' castaway or diving...

My stay at mana lagoon backpackers was characterised by false promises and overvalued accommodation. Initially we were promised free wifi, canoeing and snorkelling, as well as air conditioning. Not only was it not free, but much of it didn't exist. No electricity between 6am-6pm and even then it would be turned off without notice, the same for the water -...

I'm not going to dress it up - the accommodation was not great BUT staying here was definitely the most fun. There was no signal, no tv, no internet, it was literally how travelling should be. Everyone socialised, we played games, we went fishing, we had a bonfire, we made jewelry out of coconuts, we played volleyball, we went scuba...
